We brought our children here for the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine (ages 3 and up) and it was such a positive experience from start to finish. The waiting room had toys that helped keep the kids relaxed, and the pharmacist DJ was incredibly kind and patient. What I really appreciated was that they respected that it's the parent's choice to vaccinate--no pressure, just warm support. The shot itself was quick, and afterwards my child was thrilled to get a lollipop and even a free T-shirt. The whole atmosphere was warm, friendly, and very clean. This place is a gem!! We came here for a kids Covid booster and the staff was phenomenal. They're so well prepared for pediatric patients, which is such a rarity (even at the pediatrician's office, some of the nurses are not half as good with the kids). The pharmacist was empathetic, patient and was clearly very comfortable giving vaccines to little ones (we previously had a horrible experience at a chain pharmacy attempting to get a kids shot). The pharmacy is clean and neat. They even offered us juice or water while we waited and had really cool "prizes" for the little one after the shot. This place really just shows why independent pharmacies are worlds better than corporate retail. The entire staff here care about their patients and it shows in every single way. This is the very best pharmacy I've been to!! I went in to have my antibodies checked prior to having the covid vaccine. I really wasn't sure I was ready to get vaccinated, but the Pharmacist was so kind and patient and helpful. He spoke with me and answered my questions and we discussed my concerns. I got the antibody test & the vaccine, never felt a thing. He did a great job and was so kind! The other staff that were there were very sweet also!! ***I wrote this on 6/29 and updated today 8/10/2021*** Ellen and Tam! (All the staff is so kind, though) They are who helped me out and are the BEST (i have only truly dealt with them directly) I typically drive all the way to South Coast Plaza to fill my script @ a Rite Aid where they are friendly & always have my meds in stock. They are so far from my home and my doctor but I make the drive because it's hard to find nice pharmacists who will fill my script without looking at me sideways . Today my doctor recommended Brightside and since I ubered to my Doc that day due to my son borrowing my car. I thought I would map it and try it out if it was close. I find the smaller pharmacy's tend to never have my meds in stock right then. It ended up being walking distance and so I walked ! When I walked in the whole staff of maybe 5-7 staff all said hello! That was neat- to be acknowledged. They took my script and checked to see if it was in stock BEFORE they wrote all my info on the front of Script, thoughtful. They didn't take the discount card I usually use b/c my insurance doesn't cover my pills and I didn't want to pay full price cash but they ran my Insurance and turns out it covers it! I was told it didn't from the big name pharmacy. Ellen and Tam went out of their way to make my visit less of hassle which cuts down on my anxiety GREATLY and that my friends is GOLDEN. I can't say enough about this little hole in the wall pharmacy, it's just wonderful. UPDATE: So I came today for my same script feeling hopeful but still doubting they would have my meds today and that last time was just lucky ! Nope they have them and I was so relieved . I wanted to update this place after another visit as it felt to good to be true the first one! Lol First off when you walk in the whole staff very positively and genuinely greets you! That's so rad! Everyone I encountered was so helpful and so kind! Again, Tam Helped me and I can't even begin to describe how much his kindness and non judgement always just blows me Away! He is like an angel to me because I walk out feeling so Ok with me and smiling and that never happens picking up my meds and I'm so grateful for this place. I urge you to give them a try as it's so worth it! THEY EVEN SPECIAL ORDERED SOME SOAP YOU CANT FIND IN THE STORES AND THE PRICE IS FABULOUS AND IT WILL BE HERE TOMORROW AND THEY WILL TEXT ME WHEN ITS IN. Golden. Will definitely be using this pharmacy again! I needed a pharmacy while I was traveling so I decided to give Brightside a try. I'm glad I did. It was so much better than going to a big company drugstore pharmacy with the long lines and inconvenient wait times. I called to ask if they could fill my prescription and a friendly pharmacist named Tan picked up right away. I was able to pick up my prescription within 30 min. In addition, due to the nature of my prescription, I needed prior authorization from my doctor's office to get it sent to a new pharmacy and he took care of it all. THESE GUYS ARE DISHONEST ABOUT THEIR HOURS. So disappointed. You close before business hours? For people that actually work their intended work schedule and don't bail, it's difficult to get off work. I did that today. I asked to get off work early. I work 12 hours a day 6 days a week. So I rarely have time to get this j&j vaccine and cvs no longer carries it. And I have emergent travel coming up. So I called this random hole in the wall clinic and told them I'll try to get there around 5 and drove 30 minutes to get there after hurrying a client off a call because I needed to get there by 5:30 as she said. I arrived at 5:21. Why JUST WHY would you have business hours until 6 and leave early? Horrible business practice and so unprofessional. I told her Please I need to get this done today. To leave 40 minutes before closing is just so terrible for customer service. read more

We brought our daughter here to receive her covid vaccine. We wish we lived closer and could use this as our normal pharmacy- the staff is very friendly and professional. They have a nice waiting area and gave our daughter (7) a complimentary drink after she received the vaccine. There was plenty of parking out front, which is also a plus. read more

Everyone was getting sick around me at work with the flu and I had no time to schedule an appointment with my doctor to get the flu shot. I am glad I saw this pharmacy offering flu shots. It was quick & easy getting in & out. Usually at the doctors I would have to wait for a long time. It's very convenient nowadays that you can get vaccinated at a local pharmacy. The Pharmacist there was very knowledgeable so he made me feel very safe and comfortable. I have a little phobia for needles, but he made it quick and painless. Tan Pham, the pharmacist here is amazing. We came here for our daughter's COVID vaccine. She freaked out, but Tan was tremendously accommodating and patient. He was also thinking a lot about her well-being noting that if he tried to give her the shot when she was so tense, it could cause significant bruising. My daughter ended not beIng able to get herself calm enough to take the vaccine, but Tan gave her every opportunity, despite having other customers. Thinking about how pleasant, patient and accommodating Tan was made me want to recognize his amazing demeanor and personality, even though we were ultimately unsuccessful in convincing my daughter to take the shot. (I imagine that if Tan reads this, he will know exactly which kid this is about because I do think her refusal after so much time/effort was unusual.) read more

A few months late into this review.. my 3 year old got his covid shot here aug 2022 and the staff here were just amazing. Really clean pharmacy, amazing customer service. The nice lady who gave my son the vaccine was super sweet and was making him as comfortable as possible. She was really nice to him. We as parents really appreciated that. My wife has RA. Her pain doctor prescribes several painkillers every month. We started having a lot of trouble getting these prescriptions filled due to all of the red tape around controlled substances. It got to be extremely nerve wracking just trying to get her pain meds filled before they ran out. The doctor recommended Tan and Brightside Pharmacy and the experience could not be better! That was over a year ago. Tan has saved our sanity. He and his team have never failed to get our prescriptions filled on-time. They are extremely responsive and helpful. No idea what happened with this "Specialty Pharmacy". I made the effort to transfer all my prescriptions here and spoke with Tan if I would have any foreseeable issues filling all my prescriptions, said no, they can fill them. I understand why you couldn't fill 1 of my prescriptions, it's out everywhere. You guys didn't even have the decency to call me when my Dr left my prescriptions sitting in your inbox for over 2 months. I kept speaking to someone who is basically whispering on the phone and has no customer service direction (lots of awkward silence). My other prescriptions which are not controlled and don't have any shortages, simply couldn't be filled. I asked why and they couldn't tell me why? The person just said you'll need to transfer your prescription to another speciality pharmacy. You guys are a speciality pharmacy! Played the cat-mouse game way too long and transferred everything out of Brightside. Overall you guys WERE great, no idea what happened. Need to work on communicating with your customers who need speciality RXs that cannot be filled at regular pharmacies. In short, don't leave RXs sitting in your system. I referred 2 people over to your pharmacy and I really regret my decision **Below was the previos review I had written** Let me paint an all too common issue at Walgreens or CVS in your head. You walk in, wait in line 10-20 minutes, the pharmacist didn't fill your script or they tell you "we don't have any in stock, go to another Walgreens or CVS". I'm so loyal to Brightside. Truth is, I don't like dealing with Dr or pharmacies bc usually that means I'm not feeling well or somethings going on. Truly, the bright side of any medical concern is this pharmacy, Tan and his team. They make everything so easy so you can just rest. From texting communication that's fast and efficient, to online payment, prescription delivery and the overall care they offer, I'm always thankful for them. One time Tan even personally called me to suggest alternatives bc my insurance was charging an absurd amount of $ for something that wasn't a necessity. I had a first time interaction today with this pharmacy. I unfortunately didn't get his name, but I was helped by a pharmacist who showed me an extremely elevated level of care. He worked with me on my prescription when literally (not exaggerating) 23 pharmacies that I called did not have in stock or were unwilling to check. Not only was he willing to work with me and forgive my doctor's laziness, he was very pleasant and accommodating. I also think he heard that I was congested (allergies) and he put a free pack of halls in my bag without me knowing, and I saw it when I got home. I know enough about the field of pharmacy to know patient care is one of the most important aspects, and this man can teach a class on patient care. Thank you for the great experience.
