We were connected with Ideal Home Health by our social services professional. Right away we had coordination of visits by a registered nurse, physical therapist and home health aide. The communication has been warm and helpful throughout. Our nurse, Clarissa, is a true angel of mercy. We needed guidance on the tube feedings, skin care, and other nursing related tasks I had as a new caregiver though I have been an RN for years. Taking care of someone who just had a tracheostomy removed and needs constant attention is pretty overwhelming. Clarissa had ideas for us which we use even now. Her clinical skills are amazing. She obviously cares deeply for the clients in her care. If there is a schedule change we are always informed. We recommend Clarissa wholeheartedly! Tim, the physical therapist, is very knowledgeable and patient. He taught my husband some great tactics which have led to my husband's gradual improvement. Tim means so much to us. This company is on my health insurance plan for both home nursing and PT. Hospital contacted them…read morefor my hip replacement post-op at home care. I needed both home nurse and PT. Based on the 2 employees I had, I would definitely use this company again if needed. Jacqueline, the RN, was very friendly, professional and on-time. She needed to inject me daily since there was NO way I could do that to myself. She always alcoholed her hands, changed gloves in between procedures, changed compression dressings and socks as needed. She warned me if something would hurt (like having 25 staples removed!) and made me feel much better. Still using in-home PT with Scott. He is also very professional, tough when needed, gave me tips to help me recuperate (such as adding liquor to ice bottle to create slushy ice rather than a block of ice to use as an ice pack). He also showed me a much easier and painless way to get in/out of bed than what the hospital PTs had shown me. The hospital way always caused me about 75/100 on the pain scale, while Scott's way was all the way down to about 5/100. Next step is to be approved to drive so I can continue with out-patient PT.

I had a VERY large abdominal wound that needed to be on a wound vac. I was just released from the hospital after 3 weeks, trying to get back to life. I was medicated pretty hard and depressed. She came in, made me comfortable, and explained the process of how home health worked. She let me cry, swear, and shower. A hot shower after 3 weeks was amazing. She even waited and helped me out of the shower once I was done. She made me feel so much better and told me that everything was going to be okay. Something that you need to hear after 3 weeks of uncertainty. 2. Valerie - Another angel nurse. She was so gentle and patient with me, making me laugh, even though it hurt. It was still welcome. 3. Troy - This man is my hero. He was very matter of fact, took my issues into account, and worked with me and my doctor to get me healed up. He was super personable and has great bedside manner. Caring for a loved one in your home is an all hands on deck sort of situation (depending on the needs of your loved one). In our case it was anyways, and there were some aspects of caregiving that were beyond our capabilities. We met with a representative and discussed needs and expectations, what they could and could not do and they matched us with a couple caregivers who were absolute angels on earth. The time they spent in our home was MORE than appreciated and worth EVERY PENNY. Our loved one looked forward to her visits with Michelle or Mickie each week, and the companionship and expertise that they showed her (and us) was undlessly appreciated.
