I stayed at Brightwater Suites on Clearwater Beach on a Saturday night. I was hanging out with a group of friends for a friends birthday and wanted a place to stay near the beach but I didn't want to spend a ton of money. I found this place on hotels.com, priced at $100 a night. Parking cost an additional $10 a night. You do have to pay more to check in before 4:00 which is a little annoying as most places let you check in early if your room is available with no extra fee. The location couldn't be better. It's extremely centrally located and a short walk to Pier 60. The hotel is old but not run down. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable which is all I was worried about that evening. They even have bikes you can use during the day. My room was large it had one twin bed, two double beds, two rooms, a small bathroom, and came equipped with a microwave, medium size refrigerator and sink in the kitchen. As a local looking for a quick getaway, I wound definitely stay here again. read more

I absolutely LOVE this hotel! First let me start off by saying the customer service there is outstanding! We got a king and the room was CLEAN and updated. The shower...ohhh my lord...heaven! We were also walking distance from Kings Pizza(super nice people & the food was amazing!). There was also a nice bar/grill called Coco's that was walking distance. They have live music every night Need toiletries, snacks, or souvenirs?....there's a surf shop right across the street that has soooo much to choose from. The beach is also walking distance. Reserved a room for a week and paid upfront!! The owner delayed our stay a week!! We were all set to check in the following sunday to get a message saying you come tuesday!! He said he refunded our money but that wasnt the case!! Called credit card and they told me the merchant pulled refund back like what!! Despite the other review, I had a very pleasant experience here. It should be said that there are a lot of places that won't let you use their amenities unless you stay or pay a fee. It's a business, not a free meeting spot for all your friends. The owner is a nice lady who just renovated the property and genuinely seems to love living in the area. There's no nonsense; you check in and she shows you your room. The rooms are very cute and you can tell they're brand new, but ours was a little bit small. However, it's within walking distance to bars and restaurants, so that definitely made up for it. After a night of eating, drinking, and walking, it was a really nice place to relax. Plus, the bed was incredible! Would absolutely recommend and stay again. read more

You get what you pay for.... really decent place. Stayed for one day and it was clean and fresh. Beds were comfy. Bathroom was clean, wish the shower was cleaner and had warm water more but again you get what you pay for. Front desk person was a little rude sometimes, we we early to see if we can check in since we took a flight but she said we had to pay $30 to check in early. $30 to check in early for two hours?? You can't beat this place for the price! I would absolutely stay here again. The location is awesome - a few blocks from the beach and Pier 60. And the free parking is a huge perk! The owner was so friendly and helpful - she made us feel welcome and gave lots of suggestions of things to do. The room was clean and bright with a comfortable bed, large TV, refrigerator, and shelves to store luggage. The towels were fairly rough and it was hard maintaining a constant temperature in the shower, but this had everything we needed and we were glad to have found it. read more

This hotel was not what we were expecting for our spring break trip... at first the room appeared nice, until everything started breaking and falling apart. Everything is very cheap (furniture, appliances, etc). The service was horrible, especially the front desk lady and maid. The room was not clean as there were bugs in the bathroom. We also experienced our bed frame breaking, toilet overflowing because it was broken, and the fan knocked every time we turned it on. Overall experience wasn't great. Debated switching to a different hotel but everything else was booked because it was spring break. The only positive was the location. Roughly a block from the beach! read more

At first glance I was a little skeptical but the management has done a great job in turning an older motel into a clean comfortable place to stay. The rooms were clean and had a modern touch. The rooms had a small kitchen with sink. Best part of this place besides the location was the customer service. Brandon was great. He was even able to recommend some good places to eat and grab a drink that were in the area. The place also had bikes, beach towels, and beach toys that you can use at no cost. read more

I will start off by saying the people who worked there were very friendly and hospitable. They were reachable at all times and gave us whatever we needed. However, when we arrived, my total was more than what I was originally told. I was also told that they made some changes and were going to give us a sudio. ??????? Thats what I originally booked and paid for. We also had to pay a "resort fee." We didn't have a car to park there nor could we use the pool. (Not sure what the resort fee was for). We were told the pool was heated at 78 degrees. The pool was ice cold and therefore a huge disappointment that there was no swimming on vacation. The room was very clean, however, the photos of the room on the website are very misleading. The room looked exactly like the photo, just waaay smaller. read more

I don't know how anyone could give this Motel good ratings. The office staff were very rude and not accommodating. The office is not even open past 10 p.m.. I could not even find an electrical outlet in the bathroom until they told me that it was on top of the bathroom light fixture. It was a single plug on the bathroom fixture itself, pointed straight up, so that anyone short could not have seen it. It did not appear to be GFCI protected. The ceiling fan was very noisy and we had to shut it off in order to sleep. The rooms are very small with a small window type air conditioner. The price we paid was very expensive for what we got. Because we booked it through bookings.com the hotel would not let us out of the room or issue a refund. Bookings.com said that it was up to the hotel and not them and because we had started our stay we were obligated to pay the entire amount. We are trapped staying in a hotel that is basically a dump. read more

Fantastic mom and pop spot. The rooms were recently renovated, very cute and beachy. Teresa (the owner) goes above and beyond to make your stay pleasant-just ask her if you need anything. It is very family friendly, the kid's lounge chairs by the pool are a great touch, our kids loved sitting in them and taking pictures! If your goal is to stay just steps from the beach, walking distance to great restaurants and bars, and have a relaxing vacation where your family is safe and happy, this is a great place. read more

Never ever stay here, place is non friendly, totally non customer friendly. Owner claimed that unless you are staying here you can not visit friends by the pool (we where here for a birthday party). Recently returned from a three night stay with them. I expected the worst as I pulled up and saw the location. I am use to hotels, and this from the looks of it fell into the category of a motel. I recall seeing a few reviews prior to my booking relating to the issues with management, some people were thrown out/asked to leave before their stay was over with. I saw also that it was mentioned that the staff members were rude. I checked in and was greeted in a so so manner. I striked up a conversation and figured out what the issue could have been from the other reviews mentioning how rude mgmt. was. The owners are from Poland. Their English is very good, but the tone of the conversation is more direct. We went on to discuss, how long they were here in the US, how often they returned to Poland, and discussed children. I was walked to my room, and had no issues with my room. The decor was bright and welcoming. There was no carpet on the floors and the temperature is maintained by a window A/C unit. There was a mini fridge and a microwave oven. There is not a coffee maker or iron in the room (I hate ironing), but they serve coffee in the office. On my second evening I returned from walking the strip and was ready to pass out. It was a little before 7, and I noticed the pool rules (closure at dusk). I walked into the motel lobby and met another polish woman. I asked her if it would be okay to use the pool even though the closing hours was less than half an hour away. There was no one at the pool area, and she said absolutely, to stay as long as I like which was nice. I saw her several times during my stay and she was always polite and spoke. The location is EXCELLENT, let me repeat EXCELLENT! The strip was less than a few yards from my doorstep. Pier 60 was "maybe" a five minute walk, and the motel include with your stay bike rentals and beach chairs (I did not need to rent either). There is a convenience store less than two minutes away that sells everything from milk, bananas, to deodorant and much more. Across from this convenience store is a bar that has live entertainment, and food and drinks, alcoholic and non alcoholic. The only thing that I would suggest needs improvement and is the reason for me not contributing 5 stars is housekeeping. I realize housekeeping isn't a job that most people enjoy doing but the housekeeping staff was not only rude, but for the nights in which I slept over, I found that they were loud and if I didn't want to be up at 8/9 in the morning, hearing them would wake me. I stayed in room 10, and it is my thoughts that my room might have been next to or close to their supply room. The first morning I woke up was fine, I woke to the sounds of birds chirping, the remaining mornings, I awoke to slamming, banging and the loud voices of the housekeepers. Normally I leave a tip for the housekeepers even though it was just me and other than them changing my towels (they did not make my bed or change the sheets....not a big deal as it was three nights, but I noticed that they also did not sweep. I could not walk on the floor without shoes. The floor LOOKED clean but it was not. Instead of complain I wore my sandals. On one of the days, I walked out to prepare to leave and saw three housekeepers at separate times, each time they walked by, did not speak or even smile. I wanted to leave a note on the housekeeping envelope but decided to mention during my review. Overall my stay was great, the location and area overall is simply beautiful. Absolutely horrible l! I booked this hotel because it was the last one available and now I know why. Manager was rude upon arrival and once we finally got our room it was much smaller than the pictures. Just enough room to walk. The building was old and outdated. After our son had an accident I kindly ask the housekeeper to change our sheets and she said "I can't do it now" so my family went to breakfast and upon our return we were told that our 2 year old exceeded the maximum capacity of our room and we had to leave. Very disappointed by the poor hospitality and overall lack of compassion of the staff here. read more

My husband and I booked with Brightwater Suites for the 25th of February through the 2nd of March. We unexpectedly had to leave and fly home because of my father's diminishing health. Which was not expected at all. I went in the office to check out, the owner was at the deck, she was rude and acted like I was lying to her about why we had to leave. No offer of a refund, no I'm sorry, nothing... My father passed away on the 29th of February, two days later. I have sent a copy of the his death certificate and requested a refund. She has refused. I will never stay here again. I can't believe the greed of this lady. Not only this happened but when we checked in and saw the room that we paid extra for to "ungraded" , as she put it, the bathroom was barely wide enough to get into. The bathroom sink was as tall as the top of my legs and i am 5'4". The faucet had black mold You literally can hardly get out of the shower because the toilet is right beside the shower. Unbelievably terrible experience and horrible customer service. Heartless! read more

This place is amazing. VERY clean and cute. The owner walked us to our room and made sure we were good to go. It is a quick 10 min walk to the beach if that long. We will definitely be back and will recommend this place for family and friends. We were able to check in once we got there and start our day. I have stayed at other places on Clearwater Beach in the past and were no where near as nice and cost more. We only live a hour from here so this will be our go to place for a quick getaway. read more

The lady showed us everything and gave us extra towels for the pool, which was deep enough( 7ft unlike any other place where you can not even feel the water around you). The place is 4 minutes away from the beach and cafes. If you are looking for the cute place to stay- this might be it! P.s. We reserved a room at this hotel this past weekend- regrettably. We let them know we needed a late check-in 48 hours in advance as they state in their policy. We were told to call back on the day of the reservation to take this request-so ok we did. They texted us a code to check in that evening, after hours. It was for a box that held the key. Well as I guess you have surmised, the code didn't work! We then called and texted the only number we had and could reach no one! We had to find and pay for another room for the night. The next day we went back and were reassured that we would be refunded our money since we were unable to stay in the room due to their unavailability. Guess what? They are not refunding our money and laid the blame on us for requesting a late check in! Stay away people! read more

My wife booked a stay for 4-16 to 4-18 through booking.com. She arrived on 4/16 and stayed the night. Their toilet wouldn't flush so her friend went to the front desk to get a plunger. She was advised that they were not allowing her to stay any more because her booking was up. She showed the booking.com receipt which showed the 16th-18th and the front desk manager was extremely rude and showed her the computer which stated the 15-17th. She said there were no more rooms available. My wife was upset rightfully so and voiced her frustration and then the manager said that her head housekeeper went from room 10 to her room which was room 11 and smelled marijuana smoke. This was not true as my wife has a medical condition where she can not smoke. They were asked to leave the premises. I called and was lied to saying that they did have other rooms but refused to put her in another room. (She told my wife there were no rooms.) She then proceeded to say my wife was smoking in her room which is absolutely untrue. She was extremely rude and ended up hanging up on me. There have also been similar complaints from this establishment with the same accusations. I have disputed this transaction with my bank as she was charged for two nights and only stayed one night. I would never recommend this facility and would rather use an AirBNB for the same price. read more

The owners are very nice people who keep a close eye on the premises, which made us feel safer and more comfortable. TERRIBLE! From the beginning the guy in the front office said the rate was $108 a night but after random "fees" it was almost $140. The room are small, hot and the staff (2 people) were very rude and unhelpful during the entire stay. Not to mention I WAS CHARGED A FULL EXTRA NIGHT FOR CHECKING OUT 15 MIN LATE AND THEY MADE ME LEAVE RIGHT AWAY. I only noticed the extra charge after I left. When I called back the guy was very rude and of course did nothing. BEWARE! THIS PLACE IS A TOTAL SCAM!!! Many surrounding hotels offer comparable prices but are much nicer and professional. read more

As others have commented the motel is very clean, short walk to everything. If your looking for a safe place for your family, this is the place for you. Let me start off by saying I'm not big review writer. In fact I just signed up onto Yelp today in order to post this one. My family and I (wife and two toddlers) were visiting friends in FT Lauderdale this January past and decided to drive to Clearwater Beach. Big mistake. By the time we arrived (without reservations anywhere) the kids were in tears from the trip, and I was pretty close myself. We searched a number of hotels in the area but found them to be pretty rough. We decided to try one more place, and I'm glad we did. The owner got us set up right away in a pretty two room suite/apartment that was perfect for a small family. The room was clean and spacious (with full fridge, stove, kitchen table,etc), the rate was reasonable, the beds were comfortable, plenty of parking, great cleaning staff, and the walk to the beach was less than 5 mins. Oh and free wifi. Also there were a ton of beach toys available for the kids to play with. We stayed for 4 days and had a great time. The owner was very knowledgeable about attractions in the area, and which restaurants would accommodate a couple of unruly children (Ill be reviewing the Post pizza restaurant next). I think that's it. Oh, definitely plan on coming back. Hopefully next time for longer. read more

I booked this with high hopes that it was a nice place and unfortunately from the moment at check in it was clear that the owner and her entire family who work and stay there don't know what customer service is. The rooms are very tiny and the kitchen was extremely small, I couldn't even fit a pizza in the oven! The owner complained more than once when we needed more towels, their version of cleaning the room was fixing the bed and leaving towels. The air conditioner was a tiny wall unit and my daughters allergies were bad from it. They have a teenager who helps run the front desk who will tell you all kind of things over the phone about the property that are not true, once I arrived it all changed, including my room I was given!! Don't stay here, not worth the money nor the bad customer service you will get. read more

Clearwater Beach seems to have lots of these restored hotel/motels, and this one looked like one of the nicer/well taken care of ones we saw (at least from outside). Very clean place with updated furnishings but bathroom is literally the size of a coat closet. Knees touch the wall when you're on the toilet, and there's no exhaust so a shower heats up the whole room. We stayed in a two-bed room with separate kitchen that slept four but it felt cramped with two adults and one very tall teen--mostly because of the bathroom situation. I'd love this place if the bathroom was workable but we would not be able to stay there again because of it. The owner/manager was very nice and accommodating and the location is excellent. You cross the street, walk through a hotel breezeway and you are on the boardwalk. For the price, it's a fair/good place, which is why I gave it five stars, but I'd opt to spend more to have more room in the bathroom. Parking was easy, which doesn't seem to be the case everywhere there. read more
