They act like getting pain management from them is some benevolent experience, as though what they prescribe is the end all. My husband was dealing with Julie Overbey and her staff who were so rude to him. My husband has a medical condition that when he urinates it sprays everywhere. They would not let me go back to help get a urine sample so he would not spray all over their floor. He was trying to be respectful. He was so embrassed trying to explain this to them. He asked them if he could have a water because he did not feel like he had to urinate and they refused to give him a bottle of water. They said he was refusing to give them a urine sample and he wasn't, he just needed help to give them one. They said he was being combative because they would not answer any of his questions. So they gave him a refill and discharged him from the practice. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE I have a legal power of attorney which means I am in charge of all his care because he is disabled and they said their policy of only patient goes back trumps my legal document. He was very much discriminated against. I went in to try and talk to the office manager because he needs care. She was not helpful at all and just kept saying that it was the owners policy noone but patient goes back, no exceptions. While I was waiting for my husband a lady came in with her little boy, I don't think he was any older than 4 or 5. The lady said they were asking. JULIE OVERBEY to see if he could go back. After I came back from talking to the office manager, the little boy was waiting all by himself in the waiting room. Please do yourself a favor and run from this place. They have God complexities and they do not have your best interest at heart.

After 30+ minutes, which included looking up insurance numbers and other details, I had to stop to stretch my legs. When I got to their office, I was promptly told that I had only completed 76% of the online form and was promptly given a tablet to finish it in the waiting room. After waiting about 20 minutes past my scheduled appointment, I was invited into a treatment room where an assistant started to question me on my history of taking a pain reliever. At the same time, she is looking at a printout of my history of medications that she surely must have downloaded from some government agency. It didn't worry me because I have not done anything wrong with prescribed medications. After only a few minutes, she excuses herself because of an emergency phone call and says that Michelle Hale (FNP-C) will be in shortly to complete the intake interview. Michelle, the certified Family Nurse Practitioner, asks me why I'm there. After only a few minutes, she stops me in mid-sentence. NP Hale informs me that I cannot be seen by their office because they cannot provide pain medication unless their practice will be performing a medical procedure (which is likely to net them several thousand dollars). I was summarily dismissed. My personal conclusion--on this entire waste of time--is that the Advanced Pain Management in Surprise, AZ, is only interested in accepting patients who they can perform an expensive medical procedure; simply writing out a prescription yields them a minimal amount for an office visit, and is just not worth their time. I live in the "Real World" and certainly understand that these people want to make as much money as they can. That's O.K. with me. Really! It has always been the American Capitalist's goal, and there's nothing wrong with that. It seems to me that since they will not treat patients who require only a mild dose of a painkiller, that doesn't fit into their business model. Their website states, "Advanced Pain Management always appreciates feedback from our valued patients." To this 70-year-old man, they don't value treating my pain because it doesn't lead to an expensive medical procedure.
