This is a zero star rating!! (have to give one star to post, but Im not giving them the star. Very disappointed with this facility, actually its like it has a superiority complex. They act like getting pain management from them is some benevolent experience, as though what they prescribe is the end all. My husband was dealing with Julie Overbey and her staff who were so rude to him. My husband has a medical condition that when he urinates it sprays everywhere. They would not let me go back to help get a urine sample so he would not spray all over their floor. He was trying to be respectful. He was so embrassed trying to explain this to them. He asked them if he could have a water because he did not feel like he had to urinate and they refused to give him a bottle of water. They said he was refusing to give them a urine sample and he wasn't, he just needed help to give them one. They said he was being combative because they would not answer any of his questions. So they gave him a refill and discharged him from the practice. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE I have a legal power of attorney which means I am in charge of all his care because he is disabled and they said their policy of only patient goes back trumps my legal document. He was very much discriminated against. I went in to try and talk to the office manager because he needs care. She was not helpful at all and just kept saying that it was the owners policy noone but patient goes back, no exceptions. While I was waiting for my husband a lady came in with her little boy, I don't think he was any older than 4 or 5. The lady said they were asking. JULIE OVERBEY to see if he could go back. After I came back from talking to the office manager, the little boy was waiting all by himself in the waiting room. Please do yourself a favor and run from this place. They handle my chronic pain management. Am I going to leave a bad review!? Yeah, I didn't think so!! ;) Office is nice. The staff is awesome. The doctors are great. They try to rule everything out. The only thing I don't like.. I know what's wrong with me. They can't believe it because I'm only 36. (I was only 31 when I started seeing them) I hear it all of the time, so when I have to see a new provider there, having to explain over and over what my health issues are gets really annoying. Other than that, they will burn nerves, offer physical therapy and get you on your way. Be prepared to pee in a cup often, the State loves to audit them. O_o. read more

They managed to lose my MRI five times!! Also I did not appreciate the "Parkinson's joke"made by the doctor (while he was holding a huge needle in his hand about to inject my knee.) I do not think Parkinson's is funny nor do I think it is professional for a doctor to joke about it period. I am waiting for patient relations to respond for the third time. I heard back from Patient relations...they wanted to inform me that Dr. Jones does not have Parkinson's and he was joking in really poor taste. read more

Well let me first start by saying that Raymoun Jones is Awesome and would never go anyplace else for my procedures, he is very friendly and great at what he does. Jennifer Okidegbe is also very friendly and makes your visit very nice. These two alone make this location the best I have been to not to mention the desk staff is very friendly and helpful. If I could only give a zero...I have never left a doctors office in tears until I met these people. I have never been treated so poorly in my life. When the doctor came in (I was seeing the FNP) he stated "you are awfully mobile for having....." (I am purposely leaving out my diagnosis). How does he know how mobile I am while sitting in a chair and how dare you tell me how I feel. I have never seen such awful bedside manner in my life. Even the scribe was jaw dropped at the care during my appointment. Unfortunately I cannot go into specifics besides from what I have been reading this office removes certain reviews. The only reason I came here was because I changed insurance. After this I chose to cash pay at my old doctor. Whatever you do avoid this office. The FNP is very cold and lacks care. She avoids eye contact as well and never even assessed me yet according to their billing department the doctor dictated that he treated me and assessed me. Their billing office is a whole different story....she was so rude and nasty. I understand that pain clinics deal with a lot but I was courteous and nice. They treat everyone as though they are liars and have no idea what they are talking about. read more

REally bad care. I've been seeing them for 3 years. They just keep throwing drugs at me. They never have time to consider other options. I watch the assembly line just keep moving. Waiting for an appt with a different clinic. I contacted an attorney about them and their pushing drugs. He said nothing could be done because "every doctor is doing it". I have been seeing Dr. Shah and his NP Cindy Cornell for about a year now. Dr. Shah had zero bedside manner. All he wants to do is give injections, and if those don't work he has no clue what to do after that. Cindy Cornell is a waste of time. All she does is come and give you your prescriptions. The office is always running behind, and if you owe them any money, they will not even schedule you unless you pay the amount they say or they send it off to collections. Plus, they over charge people with insurance. After waiting for over an hour to see Cindy Cornell, who is not even a doctor, I was a little ticked off and said so. She came back with an attitude and said that I have to wait on them! I think NOT...I will just find another doctor who respects that my time is just as valuable as theirs. I will not be held hostage, because they refill my meds. read more

Started me off with nerve blocks for left ulnar nerve. First one the doctor "missed" and numbed my whole face. Then they sent me home with blood pressure reading of 111/208 - just told me to drive safe. Next nerve block did nothing at all. I refused the 3rd one and they got kinda testy with me stating "But it is covered by your insurance". You WILL wait an ungodly time to be seen. I came in for an 11 am appointment and and at 1:50PM I still had not been seen. Will NOT listen to your issues. To many other option in the valley and quite frankly Steve Adler is a bit of a *ick. They kept giving me MORE meds than I was needing at stronger doses than I wanted. If you want to MANAGE your pain go somewhere else. If you are just looking to get stoned then this is your place. read more

My dogs get treated better at the vet then these people treat people - notice I did not use the word patients. After 2 botched urine tests they decided not to give me medication - I TAKE THAT MEDICATION SO I CAN HAVE MOBILITY. (If I wasn't taking medication after the first urine test then before my next visit I would have taken meds to make sure I pass - the point is I was taking my meds). I was one of the first people in this last Friday at 7 am and got seen at 0805. I WAITED FOR OVER 2 MONTHS for them to schedule me for a spinal cord stimulator and they still had not even scheduled me for that appointment. I have been in the military for over 20 years and been to some not so nice doctors offices but, I have never dreaded going for a doctors visit until I started going to this place. I have been a patient at the pain center of Arizona for 9 years. Just recently medication was modification modified after other doctors have been quit and they messed up my medication and started making me sick. I go to make a complaint today and there was a bad doctor in there I do not get along with who is very disrespectful which is Jennifer and since I complain and I did not want to talk to jennifer I wanted to talk to the boss dr. Jonnes. Jennifer discharges me just because I did not want to see her I was there to speak to the boss but I've been fine with all the other doctors. So now how immature is that dr. Jones does not allow me to see him they made me go see Jennifer that was not the appointment for it took me 2 months to see this Doctor dr. Jones. The company is getting worse and worse obviously I see your notes everywhere bad office bad Dr disrespect they don't care for anyone obviously I'm actually reporting through a couple of tourneys due to neglect and bad surgery work that they've done on me it took over 2 years to get an MRI on the damage they did on me and how I'm gone. Do not go to any of the pain center of Arizona offices find somewhere else that's better read more

Why would a pain center have very loud rock and roll music in the waiting room? When in pain that is the one thing you don't want and can't bear when in pain. Red flag number1. Dr had little time for you for being new, red flag 2. Wasn't open to any agreement, red flag 3. Doesn't know much about medical conditions that cause pain, red flag 4. Bed side matter, NONE, red flag 5. I decide to do alternative treatments than what this Dr wanted me to take for pain. Like I wasn't going to look the med on the internet for side effects, please. I do not recommend this place! I am in total agreement with Sian P.. Dr Shah just cares about injections. Dr Shah's used an MRI taken in the early 2000s for my diagnosis. During treatments, my pain got worse. I started with a pain level of "5", During treatments and after all treatments -pain level escalated to "8". My primary doctor ordered an MRI taken and sent to Dr Shah. He never read them! I am now seeing another doctor upon Cindy Cornell recombination. read more

I started with The Pain Center of Arizona many years ago. I expect a long wait both at the Surprise and the Peoria locations. I see Annette and let me tell you she is worth the wait. The reason you have that wait is that she spends time with you. Listens to you and tries to figure out what the correct course of treatment is. I have seen other PA's over the years and she is the best there is! So yes she might take longer with her patients but remember she will do the same with you. Just bring a book or tablet and know that there will be a wait. I have had to wait for others and for no good reason. With her there is a reason. And no I don't take a heavy dose of pills. They work on treatments to try and make you better. They don't just shove pills at you. Dr. Burger is also great. He really does try to make you comfortable when doing your procedures and his bed side manner is great! read more

After multiple visits there promising to help me with the issue I have all I have done is given them money out of my pocket left and right with no resolution to my problem. I would not recommend this place to anyone and if you do go be sure to get your bill charges run to your insurance so you know your out of pocket is and if they tell you that they can't give you an exact amount like they told me and not to worry, that's BS don't move forward. Be careful of the contract they have you sign as well. She told me it was a normal process consenting to treatment, pointed where to sign then took off with the form before I ever even got to read it. Stupid me . What I did not realize was I was consenting to drug test that they charge over $1000 for! and there was no need, among other things. read more

EVERY SINGLE TIME I HAVE GONE I HAVE WAITED AT LEAST AN HOUR. I have been a PT there for 1-2 years. I see them every month for pain. This month a asked Annette to discontinue one of my meds because it wasn't useful so I didn't want it. She asked me if I took them all, which I replied no. So then, even though it was over a month, she said in order to get my NEXT MONTHS prescription, I would have to surrender the remainder of the unused pills. I agreed, even though I disagreed. The following day my husband and I made another trip to the clinic only to be told we had TO WAIT again to see her. The clinic was full, and we knew we were about to WAIT again for another hour. We talked to the receptionist, explaining that we already paid and waited the day before....no help. We asked for the MGR...no help, only more frustrating with their confusion of their procedure for this. We asked if we could destroy them to speed things along. No, the ONLY solution was to sit and wait. My husband was so frustrated he raised his voice and cursed at which point, we were told to leave and I was discharged as a patient. Now I do not have pain meds for the next month, but they do not really care about the patients there...we are only a number and Annette always acts and looks exhausted and "put out" every time I saw her. Move on if you are looking for a good pain doctor. read more

First of all, I rarely write public recommendations for anyone, as most professional services depend significantly upon specific client'/patient circumstances which may not apply to every person who might read the critique. I do write here because I believe so strongly that this particular pain center is way beyond better than average. There are areas for improvement, but overall, my recommendation is very positive. Dr Shah is the best physician I've had in many years, and by far the best pain doctor I've ever had. And, I've tried many. The source and treatment of my back pain is fairly complicated for several reasons, and other doctors have told me there was nothing they could do to help relieve the pain. Dr Shah did discover arthritis (on my first visit) which all other doctors missed, and while it took a little while to establish a treatment with some effectiveness, he remained focused and refused to give up on pain relief when some methods of relief didn't initially work. We are still experimenting to find the best treatment, but it's key that we are still trying. As in all areas of medicine, the insurance companies direct much of the early treatment, so don't blame the doctor for some trials that seem redundant or which aren't successful. Blame your insurance company instead. If ACA goes through, then you can blame DC for ineffective treatment. Sorry, but I have very strong feelings about that also. Other pain doctors were more focused on the more obvious lower-lumbar stenosis (sp?) from MRI's, and while that remains an issue to be mitigated by other treatment methods, the arthritis was news to me. I still wonder why previous doctors didn't even bring this up, as they had the same MRI in front of them as Dr Shah had for his review. I also believe he listens carefully if you have something relevant to say, and I believe he understands pain source and pain treatment methods quite well. He's a busy guy, so don't expect a lot of chit chat during your visit, but he will listen to legitimate concerns. Be selective about which concerns bother you most, and you will receive his attention. Idle chit chat is not his thing, nor is it mine, so it works for me. My situation isn't perfect, and may never be, but while my pain level is still high, it is becoming more controlled than before. I've had this situation for 10+ years, which has progressively worsened over the past several years to the point I can no longer pursue gainful employment. I don't expect full pain relief from him or from anyone else, but that is partly because of the particulars of my situation, and has nothing to do with his ability to understand the fundamental issues and do what he can. I highly recommend Dr Shah, especially if you have a difficult situation which other doctors have given up on. For those who might criticize his bedside manner, I might be in the minority, but I like his priorities in medicine very much, and feel he directs his energy towards successful treatment rather than building a social bond with patients. He appears highly intelligent, and that's a typical personality trait of smart people ... like it or not. My single complaint is that the office staff seems to protect Dr Shah from any contact with patients outside of an actual appointment. While I somewhat understand the screening process, I believe that is one area which needs to be improved. While the staff answers may ultimately be the same answers I get from Dr Shah ..., as a patient, I want to hear certain things directly from him. That is hard to accomplish within the guidelines of their current office procedures. Having said that, they do always follow up by phone the day after a treatment. Without exception. The hard part is if you have a question specifically for the doctor outside of an office visit. That direct communication likely won't happen unless you pay for an office visit to ask that question. The folks who work with Dr Shah in the treatment area are also excellent. A very caring atmosphere, knowledgeable technicians, and well worth a try if you are struggling with a pain issue. read more

WATCH OUT FOR THEM!!! I have been going to the pain center for 3 years now. but i always went to the peoria location. I went to the suprise location 1 time and i will now no longer be returning to any of the location after the horrible treatment i recieved. from them the doctor was rude never asked how i was feeling just thought i was there to get pills. cause im young she was very disrespectful arguing with me saying i only been going to pain center for few months only to get pills. Until i razed my voice and started getting mad then she finally went and looked at my records. then noticed that holy crap i am hurt and i have been coming to there company for 3+ years. It's a joke the customer service from them and she never even apologizded to me. Then cause she was wrong and new it she wouldnt even wright me a new script for the pain meds they got me hooked on for the last 3 years just want me to quit cold turkey before they will wright me a dif pain med lol it dont make sence . So stay away from them all u are is a FREAKING ####### to them they dont care about the patient...
