Wonderful experience, exceptional value! These are 4 words that only describe the cusp of my experience with Briliana Photography. I'm currently pregnant with our first child and wanted to capture timeless maternity photos of myself and my partner. I honestly wasn't sure where to begin. Most of my friends and family have had children long ago and used Sears or JCPenney. Not that the latter is a bad thing, but it wasn't the style I envisioned. So I took my search to Instagram. With one hashtag, Brilianna was among a few businesses the came up. I made a quick and easy inquiry and the rest was history. From the very first call, Irina was so easy to work with. She asked me what I had in mind then gave me a full rundown of her services. Moreover, she was honest with her capabilities. We had an out of box idea that we wanted to try as an announcement. She was honest that she'd try but her expertise was more timeless than comedic. We ended up not doing it and not because of Irina, but because we no longer felt it was necessary. After that first call, I felt confident booking with her and canceled all other business inquiries. I booked the 'Classic Session' which included a fully guided session, professional makeup and styling, and up to 4 looks. As part of the looks, you have the option of using their beautiful gowns and wraps for your photos. For me, this took a large load off of me. Imagine having to buy 4 different dresses for a maternity shoot and on top of that, figure out sizing, transport, etc. It would've been a hassle (just an FYI - you can bring your own, but her selection is soooo beautiful and high quality, there is no need to!). More than the gowns, I think this was just a great value for everything provided. Most of the photographers I had found during my search, did not include nearly as much as I received. After paying my deposit, Irina remained communicative and I received an easy guide that helped my partner and I fully prepare for our session. Fast forward to the day of our session, it felt like such a relaxing day. The studio is spacious, clean, and modern. I got straight to hair and makeup with Kristen. She was a gem - very kind, welcoming, attentive, and helpful from start to finish. I loved her work as well. Kristen did a soft glam look with beautiful blending. In addition, she added soft waves to my hair that held up nicely throughout the shoot and the rest of the day. Later in the morning, Irina came in and worked her magic. I showed her the looks I wanted and she gave her expertise on what would work best. Kristen acted as a stylist and helped keep me flawless throughout the shoot, while Irina guided me. I was nervous taking photos in my pregnant body. But Irina did a great job guiding me and encouraging me to relax. Her being a mom as well, it was nice to have her reassurance and tips. We went thru each look, including a few with my partner. At some points, I even began to cry because the experience of this moment with my partner was really heart warming. It felt very full circle. No doubt, Irina captured everything I wanted for my maternity photos - love, timelessness, and happiness. As promised, she returned the unedited proofs to us within a week and we made our final selections. I'm now waiting for the finished result but I am very pleased with the proofs. My package included 10 photos and it was truly hard to choose. That's how great her shots were! I've included some candid shots in this review which my partner took during the session. This is just to show how awesome the team worked to prep me and position me throughout the session. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with my experience at Brilianna Photography. I had an unfortunate experience with this vendor. I was provided with a gift certificate for photos with Irina for my twins' birthday. But the morning of my appointment, my apartment was flooded. My wife and kids and I couldn't leave the house until maintenance arrived, so I asked for a later time. Irina couldn't give me a later time but proceeded to tell me that she would charge me $150 to reschedule. $150 is a very expensive fee to reschedule when you're having a legitimate emergency, which I offered to prove. What if my babies woke up with a fever that morning? That's a last minute issue that's all too common. She proceeded to explain her pricing and her babysitter fees, etc., but didn't want to reduce her fee. Basically, since she already had her money from the gift certificate, she saw no incentive in helping us out. I think $75 or $100 is reasonable but $150 is not. She explained at length that her policy is to charge $150 for the last minute rescheduling, but most photographers credit you this fee back when you reschedule. In this case, it was obviously easier for her to just keep the $150 and send us on our way. Long story short, please be advised that gift certificates are not in your interest. Also, make sure you really inquire about her cancellation fees. Overall, It was a very unpleasant experience. I am sharing photos of some of the conversation. Instead of working with the consumer, the vendor won't hesitate to take advantage when possible. Response to vendor's comments: As a small business owner myself, I completely understand how difficult losses can be and I'm sympathetic to that. However, my job as a consumer is to provide a fair and accurate review. Business losses are normal and tax deductible. But $150 for me as a consumer is truly a punishment. Most photographers don't do this-- they take a deposit and allow that amount to be applied toward the next session. True emergencies can happen when dealing with children and consumers should be aware that this fee is unlike other vendors. Finally, contacting my wife after the initial review was posted and making more negative comments to her about posting that review was completely unprofessional. read more

I had a great experience with Irina. She provided great instructions/directions, as well as good recommendations for a baker and a party store to get balloons. She had an array of outfits in addition to the ones that I brought that we could choose from. We even had some special requests that she accommodated with no problem. The studio is beautiful and cozy, she had snacks which were much needed on the way home! I would recommend to other yelpers if you could to uber or lyft here, or if you have someone you can drive with that can stay in the car in the event you can not find parking.I had a hard time getting parking (luckily I arrived about 30 minutes early), I know there is parking on Queens Boulevard but I was lugging so much stuff I tried to avoid parking there. I was surprised at how efficient and quickly the shoot went, I expected to spend 2 to 3 hours there but we were done in about an hour and a half, I just saw my gallery and she got so many amazing shots. I was there only one there for a session at the time but she also has a waiting area in case multiple families are there for shoots. I have no complaints. :) read more

These are the things we loved most: 1. Irina is an absolute professional who pays close attention to every detail. I was searching for two months for a photographer who specialized in maternity and newborn. After hours of searching a really close friend of mine recommended Irina and I'm happy I chose her! Towards the third trimester I felt extremely emotional and not like myself. I wanted photos that captured the beauty of my pregnancy. She basically took care of everything and all I needed to do was show up. My hair and makeup was done on site. There was a huge assortment of dresses to choose from. The studio was clean, spotless, and smelled nice. Kristen (the makeup artist) made my makeup very natural and light. Our newborn shoot was scheduled a week ago with Irina. I booked Irina a few weeks before my son was delivered since he arrived past the due date. We couldn't be more pleased with the final proofs from our newborn shoot. Irina was very warm and welcoming despite arriving late due to a medical emergency. She was phenomenal with our 5 year old daughter from giving her prep talks to posing with her baby brother. At one point, our son became very fussy. She gave him the bottle and soothe and sway him back to sleep. I also loved her style of natural photography working with the studio lights and backdrop. This allows her to work her magic with the different outfits and props on our newborn son. It was hard to pinpoint which edited images to select since we loved all of the images from our session. The entire session took approximately 2 1/2 hours. However, it may vary from each session depending on the nature of the photo shoot. Some parents might want more elaborate and specific poses while others might be more carefree with the session. It all really depends on what you're looking for. We had a very easy-going and relaxed session. Once we were done with the family and individual portraits, Irina direct us to refreshments and snacks so we could wait in the studio lounge. She also told our daughter to play in the toy area. It definitely helped with the waiting period since it distracted her from getting impatient. Overall, we had a great experience working with Irina. The quick review: Fantastic quality, highly responsive and very reasonable. The long: We really appreciated the work Irina produced for us in the time she took to do it. I took a while deciding and asked a million questions, yet she squeezed us into her tight schedule anyway. And after the shoot, she had our proofs ready in a very short amount of time and our edited shots soon after. I couldn't be happier. This is also my second time getting newborn photos but I used a different photographer the first time. Irina gave me more poses with many different props at a much faster pace... she didn't make her packages difficult or use strange tactics to artificially bloat them into seemingly good value. She was even open to ideas and did her best to make them happen. I also liked that she let us check in freely on the process and had snacks to keep us fed. It was a great extra touch. Our entire experience with Irina was great--and made the trip out to Queens well worth it. Our little one arrived a couple weeks early and we hadn't booked a newborn photographer yet. Luckily, we found Irina online and we were able to book an appt for the next week. She sent super detailed instructions on how to make sure you have the best chance at getting good photos--you can't rely on your baby to just be cute for 3 hours! During the session she turned out to be the baby whisperer. Our little guy slept the entire time thanks to her knowing exactly what to do--warm space, sound machine, the right amount of holding, rocking and shushing. She had a few snacks for the parents in a separate space, which was nice since the session was pretty long! The photos turned out wonderfully--her lighting is on point and the wraps/backgrounds/props she uses are super cute. Once our appointment was finalized, she sent a very detailed email to help us first timers prepare for the photo shoot. We researched and compared many newborn photographers before we made our selection and went with Brilianna Photography. And after the very first email we were happy we went with Brilianna!! We contacted Irina about 2 weeks before the baby was due and she was very clear and precise regarding the process and next steps. She informed us that a deposit would be needed to secure a session right after delivery and we should contact her upon birth of the baby. Baby Maddox was born on April 1st and we contacted her I believe the next day and received an immediate response and confirmation to our session appointment and instructions (which were very detailed and specific) for the actual shoot date. I did my maternity photoshoot with Irina and loved her and her work so much that I came back to her after my baby was born for her newborn pictures. The maternity shoot was my first time ever having my pictures taken professionally and though I was very nervous at first as soon as we started the shoot Irina put me at ease and I was able to really enjoy the whole process. I came in without any real expectations or ideas of what I wanted and was able to lean on her experience and expertise to guide the session; she made suggestions for poses/outfits and I loved them all. I HIGHLY recommend getting your hair and makeup done with Kristen; she is truly amazing at making you feel your most beautiful and will make sure you keep looking your best throughout the session. I am new to NYC and just had a baby October 14th. I was on the fence about doing newborn photos but definitely did not want to regret not doing them either. I wanted to find someone with great reviews, good quality photos in their portfolio but still AFFORDABLE( I booked the mini newborn session which includes 10 photos including shots with mom and dad/siblings if wanted). I searched and compared for hours and found EXACTLY what I was looking for with Brilianna photography. I asked about availability and she got back to me right away. My due date was 10/24/19 but baby came early on 10/14/19. Brilianna was very accommodating with moving up our photo date. She also sends you detailed guidelines and helpful advice with how to prepare your baby so that the session can go as smoothly as possible. The studio was easy to find (located in queens). You do need to find parking on the street, which also wasn't bad. Brilianna definitely knows what she is doing when it comes to working with newborns. She spent several hours with my little one. My daughter was a little fussy throughout the photo shoot and Brilianna took her time to soothe her as needed. I couldn't believe how much time she spent to make sure baby was calm to get all the poses I wanted/asked for. I also requested certain poses/outfits/headbands from photos I adored on her website and she made sure my little girl had them for her photo shoot as well. ...and I have to tell you I am so in love with the photos she took. It never occured to me that newborn photography sessions are booked way in advance, so it was by luck that I happened to stumble on her website a week after my daughter's birth. For starters, Irina is very prompt, she texted me a few minutes after I sent an inquiry through her website. She is flexible. Despite preparing to go on vacation with her family, she found some time to fit me in for a photoshoot, and the entire transaction was very easy, as she uses Paypal to process her payments (you can also pay the balance via cash). She is great with babies. I am still amazed at how Irina was able to get my newborn daughter to comply for 3 hours through the various poses. Prior to the photoshoot, Irina sends a helpful tip sheet, read through it, it has all the information you will need. Finally, Irina's studio is fully stocked with all types of props and embellishments. I brought a box of outfits and accessories but we did not use them. In fact, I forgot about them until the end of the shoot, ha! Do yourself a favor and go ahead and book that shoot! P.S.: Budget some time to look for parking in the area. read more

Where do I start? I arrived at her studio Iriana provided all the required instructions of what to expect upon arrival at her studio. She is extremely sweet and detailed oriented and a parent!
