Maybe the WORST customer service I have ever seen from a "caregiver." I switched to this group when…read moremy last dentist no longer took my insurance. I had my cleaning and an additional treatment was recommended. I was told they would check with my insurance and "get back to me." After two months and hearing nothing, I contacted them. At that point I was told they hadn't done all the x-rays they needed to and could I get the old ones from my old dentist. Say what? They didn't do what they were supposed to, never got back to me and I have to do the legwork to resolve it! Although I asked twice why the x-rays weren't taking, they refused to answer. Basically, they dropped the ball, blew off their commitment to follow up and now tell me they can't do anything unless I get the x-rays they neglected to take. Well, I can do something and have: I can get a new dentist.

He never told me I would have to pay for this, nor did he charge me until he knew I was leaving. When I first started going here, I had no problem but after the Pandemic, the whole atmosphere changed, and the vibe seemed off and really sketchy. And then the drama regarding the overcharges and hassle getting some of my money back, I was done. Just beware and if I were a new patient, I would get a receipt for every visit so I would have backup documentation should I ever need it.

They explained the costs, which would be between $2000 and $3000 if I decided to continue treatment. I did schedule a second visit two weeks out, but called the office the following day to cancel, because of the expense. I visited two other dental offices that deal with TMJD; neither charged for the consultation, one even did a complete set of X rays. A couple months later I received a bill for $540 for the X-rays which were taken at the initial consultation. I had never been told that the X-rays would be a charge beyond the $180 fee. Numerous calls and letters to the office fell on unsympathetic ears. Other dentists have told me that their bills for X-rays never exceed $50. I feel this charge is unfair, was unexplained and is exorbitant and now Mitakides threatens to damage my credit history.
