We've purchased two pieces of equipment from Brim in the last couple of years. The Yanmar tractor is great. Inquired about trading in the UTV we bought for another brand and it left a very sour taste in our mouth! They sold us the original unit as the next best thing. They are now selling the same new units for thousands less than what we paid to get rid of them. Nothing but excuses about the person who sold it to us and is "no longer with Brim" to the brand itself. They do not stand behind their sales and products. Dealing with their sales staff is like doing business with a seedy used car lot on SE 82nd Blvd. in Portland. We won't be buying from Brim again. read more

They kept my tractor for a month and it didn't work when I got it back.replaced hydraulic seal in PTO AND POWER STEERING BILLED 7000.00. They said they would pick it up and fix it no charges. had to have the service truck come out. When the kid got here, he was unable to do anything as his computer was not working. The entire time he was here was him talking about random things trying to get his computer to hook to the internet and then he couldnt' get his password to work. After some time, he told me that given that the warning light was out at the time of his arrival it was most likely fine. and go ahead and run it and then he left. Tractor made it 200 feet and went back into limp mode and warning lights back on. Had to have the guy come out again and which point he told me that I need a new sensor. Ok, fine... ordered the sensor and then made a third trip to install. All good other than when got the the bill, I was charged for the initial visit. The hour plus that he spent here doing nothing other than trying to get his computer to work. When I called to dispute, I was met with an aggressive tone about how "these guys cost money", and a story about how the guy I was talking to had a farm too and things are expensive. Only after literally explaining the entire thing like I am talking to a third grader did he agree to reduce it by some. Long story to say, avoid them if you can. read more

My husband's backhoe was stuck on the woods & needed some work. Brim Tractor sent a man out 5 times to work on it. It was in worse condition afterward than before they started. Without his approval, they charged $4,000 to his credit card which they had on file due to previous work. My husband had his son (a car mechanic) come out. The two of them got it running so my husband could drive it home to work on it himself. read more

Terrible customer service and worse mechanics who cost me a ton of money and still gave me a non-working tractor. I ended up taking my tractor in to Josh at Whiting's Equipment who got me up and running the same day at half the cost. I will never return to Brim. read more

Beware of Carl Capps!! I bought a $53,000 crawler and asked Carl, with his expertise" about the potential for using street pads on the crawler versus stock pads. He said they were great and safe on asphalt. I then asked. since I have a vineyard with a slope, how those street pads perform on a slope as far as traction goes. He told me they do fine, so I purchased the $2,000 pads. The very first time I used the pads in the vineyard the crawler slipped so bad that it was too dangerous to use. I then contacted Carl about the problem since he was the presumed expert and he told me "well those pads don't do well with grass or moist dirt"! They only have traction on very short grass and dry conditions. Really, That means I can only use the crawler three months of the year, since it is Oregon! I asked why he did't tell me that before I spent $2,000 and he couldn't respond. He called me a "demanding" customer! I asked if he would take the expensive, dangerous pads back and he said he could only take them back on a consignment basis and charge me an additional 20%!! I said I don't think so and it is too bad you don't stand behind your product you sell and recommend. Beware of this guy, he totally reminds me of a used car salesman. Do not trust what he says, he just wants to make the sale and the almighty buck. I told him I don't want him to sell the street pads to another unsuspecting easily deceived farmer with a slope, which he would readily do. So now I have no choice but to sell them for a loss on Craigs List. I have a conscience, unlike Mr Capps, and I will openly warn prospective buyers that these pads do not perform on a moist slope or grass!! PLEASE AVOID BUYING ANYTHING FROM THIS GENTLEMAN HE HAS NO CONCERN FOR YOUR SAFETY. read more
