It's difficult as a female to not wind up with individuals behind the gun counter at any gun store who think I'm some sort of inexperienced female who can't make the right choice when it comes to buying a gun. It gets annoying fast, but Integrity has, up until yesterday, provided the best experiences in Topeka thus far. Last night changed my mind. My fiancé tragically passed away earlier this year in Colorado. He was on a lake at the time and when the police found his vehicle, his pistol was inside. Law enforcement needed a FFL in Kansas to send the pistol to so I gave them Integrity's info. It's been many months now and it's been a slog dealing with Colorado law enforcement on other things, so knowing I needed to check on where the pistol was at, I wanted to rule out that it had made it to Integrity before going back to the police on the matter. When I walked in to ask simply if the gun had arrived there, just to rule it out before engaging law enforcement, you would have thought by the way the man behind the counter looked at me and spoke to me that I was the scum of the earth and a complete idiot for asking. Never mind that it's an incredibly difficult thing to bring up with a stranger that I'm dealing with the affairs of my fiancé who passed away and I also wanted to be quiet about it so as not to make other customers uncomfortable. As he spoke to me with attitude, I wanted to break down and cry in the store because everything the past six months has been difficult and he was only piling on to the difficult things I was dealing with. I went to the store first so that I could go back to the Colorado police and say that the gun hadn't arrived and I had checked. From the very start of trying to explain what I was doing, the man behind the counter looked at me like I was an alien and spoke to me with the attitude of a high school girl telling her mother she was wrong about something. When he FINALLY asked for my name to check on whether the gun had arrived, he also carried on for like the 8th time about how I should have received a call. I walked out at that point before I started screaming that I knew that, he had told me already about 8, if not more, times, never accepting when I said I know, I just wanted to check. I don't know why anyone needed to treat me like an idiot for coming in and simply confirming, before going to law enforcement to discuss it, that the gun hadn't arrived. I don't look forward to having to go back to Integrity at some point to pick up my late fiancé's gun when it does arrive, and I will be taking all my other business elsewhere from now on. Unless you're okay being treated like dirt, don't do business here.

Thursday June 20th I go in wanting to buy a book,(HL Clarke technical studies for Trumpet).... Which is a fairly common trumpet book.The very enthusiastic girl behind the counter looks and says they have 2 in stock... After her searching for about 10minutes it comes to find out.. They don't. So, the next step would be having them order it for me. I agreed to that. After being convinced that free shipping was enough justification to have them do it. I was also told that is should be in their store no later than the 25th...... They finally call me June 27th to tell me that the book was there. So, I go in today, July 1st. And it was the wrong book.... Aparently a picture of the book to order via my phone wasn't good enough?... I have no ordered the same book off amazon. Cheaper than what they were going to sell it for me.... And I also received free 2!!!! day shipping. Because I feel like I'm just ranting on about how terrible I have been treated I will stop with a few closing point. I do not suggest buying books from this store, order them online. The only thing this store is capable (without messing it up) is selling you consumable materials (reeds, valve oil, ect)

I gave a hundred down just so he would trust me to work on my amp he didn't ask for it I wanted to do good business, it was blowing a fuse when secondary was plugged in but stayed on with tubes lit as long as secondary was unplugged so the problem was isolated! I get amp back of 3 weeks an now the power tubes won't light an a couple of preamp tubes won't light! An he is putting his gages to everything a says the circuit passes continuity and voltage, everything reads out right including the ground but tubes just won't light!? For 1 that makes no sense at all if everything thing reads out properly then it would work! So he kept the $100 dollars and damaged my amp in multiple areas on separate boards! He was saying I'll need to replace the power tube board and preamp board! He took out low amp slow burners and placed in higher rating fuses in their place, that's a no no! You can go lower but not higher! Probably fried components! Like why did you refer me to this guy I trusted you when you advised me and referred me to him! Like he was playing games with my amp, if your recommended by a guitar store then you know everything must not read out right or it would work! That's very simple to understand! Now an easy fix has become a costly mistake and still have to pay to have much more repaired now! In conclusion don't recommend Ryan Verthein to other artists for amp repairs! An I will also not be doing business with Kansas Guitar because the trust is broken, I thought better of this guitar shop!

When we arrived, the owner, (I believe?) acknowledged he made a mistake and that they did not actually have the model I was coming to get. He then offered me a better model for the same price. (Better model was twice as much money.) That kind of ethic solidifies this store as a premier place for my music needs.
