When we arrived we were surprised at how large the building was as well as the great up lighting. The venue itself was large for the event being held and the place was clean and well maintained. One of my favorite parts of this American Legion was the table set for POW's which I thought was remarkable. This location also had a great bar area that was packed with people celebrating and having a good time. In the end, this was a great venue space with a great group of people.

Chuck and Maria were so wonderful to me, as were the rest of the staff at Valentino's. Professionalism seems to be the utmost importance to them. The food, ugh! We chose to have family style, which I do not regret. We ordered some typical Utica foods (riggies, greens), while also having some options for staple items, like a wonderful pork loin roast. There was not one thing that tasted bad. We opted for the open bar and had no problems with this all evening. Everything was so clean and tidy. I am so happy with how beautiful our photos turned out at Valentino's. Maria was always willing to meet with me. I probably came down the Valentino's 4 or 5 different times before the wedding to make sure everything was correct! Even a few days before the wedding when our rental company had some issues with getting flooded, Maria and her staff ironed and tied every bow on the chairs. The driveway to the club splits holes #17 and #18 and is lined with tall, silver-maple trees offering a "Magnolia Lane" type feel to it. Twin Ponds itself is very scenic and well kept, and notably contains two bodies of water from which the name is derived. The wooded surroundings are consistent and broken up only by occasional homes on the perimeter of course. The fairways are relatively straight and moderate in distance for par. Greens play true, albeit sometimes fast in the heat of the summer. Overall, a great course for novice and skilled players alike. My experiences have always been positive when having a golf outing or special event - for which they also exceed expectations. The gardens are beautiful and provide an ample location for photo taking. The large ballroom contains a circular bar and panoramic windows offering great views. It's a great atmosphere inside the facility as the open layout makes it easy for guests to mingle. The food never disappoints, although I can't say I've had a great deal of variety from recent memory. Overall, a great place to spend a day golfing or to forge a lasting memory with family and friends. I consider this club a 'hidden gem' within the greater city of Utica and would highly recommend it.

I honestly thought we as a culture have come a long way since... but, apparently NOT at Hartshill. At two very recent events, Scott's wife told me that they had not prepared a vegetarian option because I could have pasta, potatoes, rolls, and cooked vegetables at the buffet; mind you, others had sausage, chicken, and a carving station... The interior of the place seemed to be well kept and was clean both times I was there. The banquet food is pretty solid. Brand new winery just opened in Hamilton with wonderful ambiance and hospitality. They serve Hosmer…read morewines, craft beer and Liquid Fabels cocktails. They have a nice gift selection also. We stopped in after work and had such a great time talking with the owners and enjoying the beautiful space. There is plenty of outdoor seating, along with charcuterie and snacks. Can't wait to stop in again!
