He was so friendly and helpful, making suggestions on the beer he'd recommend and letting us sample a few. The beers we ordered were outstanding; the summer ale was one of the finest and smoothest I've had. I mixed it with the blackberry sour, which was fruity and tart. Our kids had a great time playing games while we lounged and socialized on the couches. There was a food truck, and the menu at the brewery looked great, too, but we'll have to check that out next time. Can't wait to stop in again on our next visit. read more

My husband and I have a camp about an hour north of Rome. We drive by this place on the way in and out. We always wanted to stop and try their beers. On the Friday after Thanksgiving we finally did it. And we are so glad. Got a flight of Czech Pilsner, Shfifty Nine Amber, Polar Vortech and Black Hat Hacked Bourbon Mulato Stout. We liked them all. Enjoyed some beer at Copper City Brewing Company on Friday evening. Always appreciate a brewery that recognizes the seasonality of beers, but at the same time is willing to get creative. Quality: Copper City Brewing Company had a very nice selection of beers. They lean a bit more to old world style, despite the technical names. They also clearly understand stouts are made for cold weather. I started with the Copper City Febtoberfest, a solid marzen with a great warmth to it. Then I sampled all three stouts, Black Hat Hacked Stout, Mohawk Valley Imperial Milk Stout, and CBV Stout. CBV Stout won me over for a full pour, as it managed to keep a complex and rich flavor without too much alcohol pushing through. Quantity: Beer sizes clearly marked on the menu. Value: $5-$8 for a Draft Beer. Ambiance: Copper City Brewing Company is located in Rome, New York. It is a fairly large space, designed for different events. They had several televisions showing basketball, a lounge corner, which also seemed to be ready for live music, and tons of board and card games piled up for guests. The music selection was 90s rock, and a few guests were really getting into it. It had very fun and cheery vibes, and people were very excited when the food truck opened up. I had a great experience recently at Copper City. The staff was super nice and made a couple good recommendations for choosing a beer based on what I told them I liked. I enjoyed a pint of their Hefeweizen and tried one of the ciders (also good). Seating is plentiful and has a nice range of options. They have high top seating, bar stools, tables, and a lounge area with a leather couch if you want to sip your beer in comfort. They also have a few board games on their shelf, which is great for a board game geek like me. The interior is a great design and feels very modern and fitting for a brewery. If you want more reasons to drink, they also provide pretzel rods at the bar to munch on. The only downside (and not enough to lower their rating) is their lack of food options. They have a couple small appetizer items you can order (cheese) but nothing else. However, they make it very clear that all patrons are welcome to bring in food from outside restaurants which I thought was super cool. Now you can enjoy some greens or riggies and a pint guilt free. Very tasty beers here, and reasonably priced especially if you're planning on staying a while with a tab. The staff is friendly and do not make you feel alienated like many places around here. I do wish there were a few more food options and I wish they'd build another spot other than rome but otherwise is a perfect drinking hole establishment. The brewers seem like they have fun here which is a good sign. The names of the beers were inventive, taste is on point especially with their darker beers. This restaurant has only been around 2016, but this place is awesome! When we got there (around 11:15), they had a small brunch out for all visitors. Bagels, fruit, yogurt, granola, coffee...perfect addition to a light morning drink! My husband and I brought our small Pomeranian, who was allowed to be inside (!!) during our visit since it wasn't too busy. We got a flight of beers and ALL of them were delicious. We're both avid IPA drinkers, but the others we tried were equally yummy. There were games inside and also a patio outside which looked like it would be perfect if it weren't rainy and wet outside. When my cups were taken I asked for my deposit back and was questioned about it, in an unprofessional manner, like I was trying to pull a fast one. If I still possess the mugs you charged the deposit for, there shouldn't be a question about refunding me that deposit. Otherwise a good spot for a good beer stop. read more
