My husband and I have a camp about an hour north of Rome. We drive by this place on the way in and out. We always wanted to stop and try their beers. On the Friday after Thanksgiving we finally did it. And we are so glad. Got a flight of Czech Pilsner, Shfifty Nine Amber, Polar Vortech and Black Hat Hacked Bourbon Mulato Stout. We liked them all. The Mulato Stout was unusual and quite tasty but they only had limited quantity. So we left with a growler of the Shfifty Nine Amber.

Enjoyed some beer at Copper City Brewing Company on Friday evening. Always appreciate a brewery that recognizes the seasonality of beers, but at the same time is willing to get creative. Quality: Copper City Brewing Company had a very nice selection of beers. They lean a bit more to old world style, despite the technical names. They also clearly understand stouts are made for cold weather. I started with the Copper City Febtoberfest, a solid marzen with a great warmth to it. Then I sampled all three stouts, Black Hat Hacked Stout, Mohawk Valley Imperial Milk Stout, and CBV Stout. CBV Stout won me over for a full pour, as it managed to keep a complex and rich flavor without too much alcohol pushing through. Quantity: Beer sizes clearly marked on the menu. Value: $5-$8 for a Draft Beer. Ambiance: Copper City Brewing Company is located in Rome, New York. It is a fairly large space, designed for different events. They had several televisions showing basketball, a lounge corner, which also seemed to be ready for live music, and tons of board and card games piled up for guests. The music selection was 90s rock, and a few guests were really getting into it. It had very fun and cheery vibes, and people were very excited when the food truck opened up. Crowd: Busy on Friday evening. Lots of locals grabbing a final beer before the snow. Service: Great bartenders, provided lots of samples to help me figure out the right beer for the moment. Parking: Large private parking lot.

    Buffalo Chicken Jimbos food truck!

We really like the beer, always adding and changing new options. relaxing atmosphere where I've seen kids and pets and people of all ages that just want to relax and enjoy each others company. . They have food truck options, my favorite is Jimbos Wings n things. The only minus is it's pretty loud and crowded esp when there is a band. Otherwise great

Awesome spot and great food truck on occasion. Best beer in town! If ever in Rome I will def go again!

Stopped in to taste a flight of their beers. Really neat place, friendly vibe, copper themed (Rome NY is nicknamed the copper city). They are part of a group promoting upstate beverage touring: @HeartNYBevTrail heartofnewyorkbeveragetrail.com

I found out that they often have events like live music and bingo. The large room allowed the class to go on away from the main bar and high top table area. Orders are placed at the bar and the one bartender working had things running smoothly. I ordered a Watermelon Wheaton beer and loaded nachos. I immediately got my beer and got a pager for my food. There were a few regular tables along the perimeter among the high top tables but I chose to sit at the bar. The other patrons were very friendly and included me in their conversation. The beer was crisp and cold. The food came out rather quickly. The nachos were topped with beer cheese, fresh pico de gallo, sour cream, and scallions. There was a very generous amount of sour cream so I didn't have to worry about just eating chips. The bartender kept everyone served and knew what the regulars drank. She checked on me regularly. My only disappointment is that as summer comes to an end I will have to wait until next year to attend the events they have at the brewery.

A true embarrassment to himself and his businesses. My family and I were there to celebrate a birthday. Some of us were in line to order food while the others sat at a patio table. We were approached by a waitress who told us we had to leave because we had a kid under 18 with us. We were bummed and she said the owner was there and she would talk to him about it to see if he would allow an exception. We've been there before on the patio with kids since the signs for 18 and over were only on the doors beyond the patio. She came back a short time later and said no we had to leave. While we were walking back to the table to leave, the owner made a snarky comment to us about never coming back and leaving a negative review. We approached him because what business owner does that? He proceeded to raise his voice at us and have a meltdown when we were being level headed and asking about the policy and asking him to check on the multiple other tables that had kids under 18 sitting at them. He stated that he couldn't have anyone under 18 in the building because of his license. There is no such license in New York State so that was a complete lie. He then told us to just get the f*** out. It's totally fine if he wants to run his business with that policy (the only one in the area), but the manner he handled the situation was out of line and uncalled for. As per the owners request we will be leaving negative reviews and never going to a business associated with him ever again.

Any other time, if you are not a regular, this place might not be for you. I've been here several times with mixed experiences. The last time I was there was a Thursday in the summer of 2024. My husband, brother and I were excited to find seats at the bar and order dinner. The bartender was a short blonde woman and there was a male bar back. The bartender did not acknowledge us for over 15 minutes. We were actively looking at the menu on our phones and talking about what we wanted to try and attempted to make eye contact with her as she walked by us with no luck. She didn't even say "I will be right with you", literally no interaction. She was very friendly with everyone else around us seeming to know exactly what they were drinking and happy to get it for them. Our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and offered great suggestions. She was great and we really enjoyed interacting with her. We started with rum punches which were made with freshly squeezed juice and they were out of this world. We shared the "everything" wings which were crispy and that sauce was delicious. We were tempted to lick the sauce off the plate. We refrained so we didn't get strange looks. I had the Kimchi Reuben which is made with house made kimchi I might add. My husband got the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. We both opted for Poutine Fries for our sides. Guys, this food was unique and spectacular. I'm just bummed it's 3 hours from home! But I'll definitely make an effort to be back.

The $.50 cent wing night sounded too good to be true and that turned out to be half right, the special ran from 4-8 however week after week they were sold out of wings halfway through but had plenty of the other high dollar menu items available. Since the unfortunate food truck incident a year or 2 ago and food moved indoors, the staff has been understaffed and overwhelmed any time I have been there. Last Wednesday it was a 90 minute wait for food.(you guessed it, one beer due to an empty stomach and off the Black River Ale House for $.75 cent wings and a selection of canned/bottled stouts + porters). The deal breaker probably was having a "family night" with Disney characters at a bar????? I guess what was even more disturbing was the number of parents that thought this was a good idea and brought their kids. It was my understanding the building next door was bought for events, why not hold it there away from strangers consuming alcohol???? I felt sooo bad for the people that own the house and land next to the main parking lot having to spend the evening directing people off their lawn, due to the number of vehicles overflowing the main parking lot. Why wasn't a staff member out there directing traffic to the over flow? Business is obviously good and I wish them the best, I guess I have been spoiled by the more traditional craft breweries that offer a more chill atmosphere, are dog friendly, less bring your kid with you while you get liquored up and offer more than fruity seltzers, IPAs and ales. I'm not writing this to be malicious and know the grand or so I typically spent there in a year won't be missed, just hoping they will see this and make better decisions.
