I am not from Laredo and found this little hidden jewel of a restaurant by accident. This is actually my second time here, and this restaurant continues to have an unbelievable consistency in their food and service. Carmen, Sandra and Michelle. Always makes you feel right at home. The first time I was here for breakfast and had the Menudo, it smelled absolutely delicious, the meat was so tender and so many flavor nuances made it so worth it, and the house made tortillas made it even better. The last time I was here they were out of the pork spare ribs, well today, I was able to order some today along with the jalapeño smokers, which are large jalapeño chilies stuffed with A creamy seasoned cream cheese wrapped with smokehouse bacon, simply out of this world good, they do it right! Serving staff Are always very friendly and helpful with the menu, always smiling. I was able to meet again the what I am thinking Owner/Manager Eduardo, was very pleasant to see and have a feeling he cultivates a very family oriented atmosphere for his staff. We had to drive around the block twice to find the parking lot (behind the smokehouse, east)! Enter the parking lot just north off of Chihuahua. It was well worth the effort. Don't let the outside fool you. The inside has great decor, and very clean. The service was good, the brisket and ribs were tender and mesquite smoked (per the owner). The sides we ordered were good: creamed corn, coleslaw, & beans. It was 3:00 pm and they close at 4:00 pm, so they were not busy. The man at the table beside us said the 1/2 chicken is wonderful too. The food was really good. Service was good. The only thing that truly doesn't work is the parking. Nevertheless it wouldn't deter me from eating there. I equally like that it was nice and quiet at the time I went but when I went again it was the usual amount of noise. Nothing too bad. read more

Tried this place for lunch based upon the good reviews. Very easy to pass it due to the small sign out on the main road and the restaurant is setback from the street quite a bit. See photo of signage road so you don't pass it up. Restrooms are located outside before you enter the main restaurant just FYI Ordered the sampler platter to try everything. Has brisket, pork ribs, beef ribs, sausage, and chicken with 2 sides $19. Kind of dark inside to me, could use additional lighting. Metal utensils, paper napkins, and ceramic plates. Inside is pick nick type tables and benches. Food arrived quickly. Potato salad is mayo based not mustard so I did not really like it. Pork rib, brisket, and chicken was all very tender but nothing had a smoked flavored and appears to be done in an oven? Which is fine but I prefer the smoky taste in bar b q. Beef rib was disappointingly over done and a bit tough/ dry. Sadly I left most of it. The staff was very friendly and I wish them the best. Truly, the best, most tender brisket I have ever had!!! I have eaten bbq and brisket all over the US and never have I found better. I thought it might have been done sous vide style but no, the owner said---done outside on the smoker. Such a magnificent surprise. I had the Tuesday special which included Cole slaw and another side. I chose the excellent cream corn. All perfect to be washed down with a beer. I'm not a white bread fan, don't eat pickles but all I had to do was to ignore that. The rest was so outstanding. The place is cozy and the staff is cheerful, efficient and helpful. Can't believe I have been coming to Laredo for over 16 years and I never ate here.............until yesterday! What a great atmosphere, this is NOT a chain. This is a small independent family owned BBQ joint thats well known amongst locals. I tried the brisket and sausage plate, and was not disappointed. I also took bites of my wife's Loaded Bake potato with sliced turkey, and it took both of us to finish it off as it was such a large portion. For dessert we had the homemade peach cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was delicious, and left us wanting more. My husband had the turkey leg & a pulled pork wrap while I opted for bbq chicken and pork ribs. Everything was amazing. The Spanish Rice gets rave reviews. I am a snob when it comes to rice & it passed my test. The only problem we had was locating the restaurant. The online maps and navigators got us lost several times due to construction. read more

Their menu offer a great variety of smoked brisket, chicken and sausage items. All very tasty and at affordable prices! After having brisket from Briskets & Beer, I can't help but compare it to other places that sell brisket and nothing beats Briskets & Beer! The brisket is not fatty and has a rich smoke flavor. Their homemade BBQ sauce is really good. The potato salad and coleslaw are really good too.
