I stayed in the summer cottage, everything was decorated beautifully in antiques and every detail was attended to, from the fridge with soda, chips and chocolate, and fresh homemade brownies that waited us. The cottage is surrounded by beautiful gardens and a very friendly chonker cat named Lucy who will run up to you for pets (and might try to sneak inside the cottage if you let her). The breakfast was incredible with bacon, cheese eggs, perfectly done potatoes, and a platter of homemade pastries. The location is rural but it was close to the black pine animal sanctuary, and about 40 minutes away from Fort Wayne. It was a good springboard for all of the local breweries we planned to scope out, which there is a ridiculous amount of (or maybe not, you need something to keep you busy in these small towns).

There is a bathroom located in the master bedroom, and the second bathroom is located in between the second and third bedroom. House comes with all the essentials, including sheets, pillows, soaps, towels, and kitchen, essentials, Tritoon boat rental is available at the house. Tritoon comes with two live Wells, an electric anchor, and various rod holders for fishing. It also has lifejackets, gas and floating raft. Grocery stores and restaurants located within 10 minutes of the house. Gas station, and boat launch located 1/8 of a mile from house.

This Guesthouse opened in 2015 and offers two suites with plenty of modern amenities. We were lucky enough to book a stay in the larger suite (Suite A). This room includes the following, a king sized bed, kitchenette complete with dishware and cutlery, microwave, mini fridge, cable TV, climate control settings, and Wi-Fi capability to connect you to Netflix with some effort. Unfortunately, the only place for trash was a small waste bin underneath the sink, definitely not adequate for a couple of out of towners bringing home doggie bags every night. The owners of the Guesthouse did an excellent job making the space feel homey. Being so close to Winona Lake, the tasteful décor and nautical details were in tune with the theme of a lake side retreat. The back porch offers beautiful views of the town where one could read a book and relax or just gaze out and appreciate nature at its finest. A short 8 minute walk from the Guesthouse offers stunning views of Winona Lake in addition to nearby shops and restaurants. The town provides pedestrian and bike paths. If walking is your thing, Suite A has a walking stick near the door. If biking is more your style, Trailhouse Village Bicycles rents cruisers during the warmer months. During our time there, spring had not yet taken hold, but for those lucky summer visitors, it's an excellent opportunity to explore the town. Our arrival was, however, in late March and sadly only a handful of businesses were open. Trailhouse Village Bicycles had no bicycles to rent at the time, The Mucky Duck was closed so we couldn't pick up a souvenir, even the place that provided the hand soap in our suite (which had a remarkable scent) was closed. In short, the room and vistas were beautiful but it was the town itself, which let us down. We thought we were buying a package that included a beautiful room (which we got) complete with a souvenir shop and soap (which we didn't get). Winona Lake has a great opportunity to be a year round tourist attraction and due to its centralized location, the Guesthouse will be an ideal spot to stay.

They have a huge event center for your rallies/parties, with a kitchen too. A great dog park, and dog spa with a heated blow dryer. The bath house has ceramic tile, and is attached to a laundry area. They have cabins for rent that are like mini houses, with great amenities to include their own washer and dryer. They have some very cool buddy sites, where 2 spots can be rented together that share a gazebo complete with a grill and a table and chairs. All of the sites are very level concrete, 20' wide and at least 65' long, these sites are huge! All of this within a short drive of 2 lakes and in the middle of the RV manufacturing mecca. Is this place still there? I sure hope so. Rooms were pretty clean smelled like Pine Sol! had a woods setting theme to the place! Lots of Knotty Pines everywhere. I won't forget it! Was a fun place. I remember the floor was uneven LOL felt like I was in the woods! I think that was the whole point of the place, to feel like you're out in the great outdoors! very knotty indeed.

Between the long term guests, staff and resident dog....I'm not sure which part is worse. Tvs and radios blaring before 8:00 am, staff talking loudly down the hall from one end to the other to eachother, staff talking loudly at the front desk where all voices carry, and the dog barking inside or outside our windows. The staff do not know what "inside" voices are and I feel are very rude to customers/residents who either work 3rd shift or guest who are sleeping in. This is definitely the noisiest hotel/Airbnb and would not suggest it if you like quiet.
