We also decided to do an evaluation at my child's school which was easily scheduled. My child's teachers noted how great Erica was- they were also impressed. It has probably been about half a year now, and we have seen so much progress in his language development. Our son looks forward to his speech sessions and has fun while learning. I love receiving the detailed summary after each session, as well as helpful / relevant assignments that we can print out and work with at home. Erica is engaging, patient, friendly and professional. The activities continue to evolve as our son's language develops, and it's clear that the plan is individualized and personalized to his specific needs. As you know, there is no "one-size-fits-all" plan for these kind of things. We could not be any happier with Lakeview Speech and Language Clinic. Her program absolutely put him on the right path; he's now in 7th grade and reads at grade level. Her program is intensive and requires dedication; it's an ongoing process. But the time my son and I have put into the program practices was worth every minute, resulting in his new confidence in the classroom and outside of it.

They said that focusing on reading would lead to improvements in math but unfortunately that wasn't the case. Nine months later and there was a slight improvement in reading but nothing in math. My advice if you don't have money to burn, hire a private tutor and pay along the way. Huntington makes you pay up front and there is no refund even if their program isn't successful. If your child has an IEP like mine, I read an educational therapist who specializes in learning disabilities is recommended.

I was surrounded by such positive, welcoming people of all ages. Throughout the night, we sang karaoke, played cards, shot pool and listened to good music. What really stood out to me was how safe, inclusive, and comfortable the environment felt. Everyone was so kind and genuine. But what truly touched my heart was how the community embraced my brother, who is special needs. There was no judgment only acceptance, laughter, and open arms. For the first time in a long time, I didn't feel like I had to be on guard, watching to make sure he was being treated with respect because everyone just welcomed. It was a relaxing night filled with connection and joy. I would absolutely come back and recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, warm, and safe space. LBP provided the space, catered the food (via their onsite cafe, Carver 47), connected us to amazing balloon and floral vendors, and provided other accoutrements (e.g., tables and chairs, table coverings, a stage, sound and tech support, package management). LBP's one-stop shop especially helpful given that our planning team resided outside of Chicago. There is so much to applaud from the experience: the warm and inviting space exuded elegance; the feast was as beautiful as it was delicious; and the LBP team's interactions with us (from planning to completion) was the epitome of grace and hospitality. They accommodated every request and did so with an exceptional level of excellence. When we asked that the menu include a vegetarian and Halal dish, they ensured guests had multiple options. When we requested assistance erecting our banner, they took on the task of assembling the entire structure, even machine washing and drying it when they noticed a stain. Compared to other spaces we considered (and have used in the past) across the city, LBP's offerings and support stood head and shoulders above and their love was palpable in their attention to details.That they have a heart-centered mission and work in support of youth and community was tasty icing on an already amazing cake. As a new parent I wanted that extra interaction time. However, I've had nothing but a positive experience there. I wanted a school that had a good curriculum, with teachers that were loving and patient and they've met my expectations. I love that they have an app that I can monitor my son's day, diaper changes, nap, activities it made me much more comfortable leaving him in the morning's. I love all the teachers but Ms. Yvette & Aliyah are stars in the baby room. My son runs and grabs Ms. Yvette leg every morning for his hug and it warms my heart. They also have parenting classes and give free zoo tickets and extra things to ensure the family is getting all the resources available to them. I interviewed numerous daycares and I'm happy with my decision. I would definitely recommend.
