We started our son in Mathnasium a couple years ago when math became hard enough for him that he…read moreactually had to think about it and could no longer breeze through. He had no patience and quickly went from 0 to 100 with extreme math frustration! And we didn't know what to do to help him. Fast forward a couple years and he now loves math (it's his favorite subject) and will be on the accelerated math track in jr. high. And he hasn't asked for our help with math since he started! Make sure he tells you that he videos the kids sessions . I was not informed of that or gave permission. Update : To comment on his feedback full refund because I demanded it . He still wanted yo charge me for the 3 sessions . Don't ever tell a parent you would not teach a student who cries . My son said you were yelling at another student while he was there with the other tutor and the tutor said He couldn't stand that . Maybe this would make other students stand up for themselves or tell their parents what's going on because it is not right .

They offer multiple afterschool programs, tutoring, leadership conferences, groups for kids of all different interests to join, work trips, etc. If you have children in middle school or highschool in the southwest suburbs, check out CEP and find out if there's something of interest for your child. If you're an adult and are interested in volunteering, this is really an outstanding organization to be a part of. CEP has helped many young teens and made on impact on many lives, including my own. Physics can be a difficult subject to grasp and, frankly, many teachers don't make it very…read morerelatable to students. Mr. Podo is the one Physics teacher I know that bucks that trend. His passion is contagious, and he uses examples/materials that kids find engaging. For example, he used a scene from the Fast and the Furious to illustrate a difficult concept (centripetal/centrifugal force?). Being able to grab a kid's attention is half the battle these days -- then being able to take difficult subject matter and make it relatable to hold their attention -- very rare in a teacher. I'd highly recommend Mr. Podo to "level up" (my kid's term) your child's knowledge/grasp of physics. Money well spent for sure.
