I chose mild heat because it has been my experience to error on the side of mildness with hot chicken places because they can get very spicy, so spicy that you cannot even enjoy it. They have a decent sized dining area and the staff there was very friendly. The restaurant has a hip vibe and is decorated with colorful murals. My meal was ready in about 5 minutes and it was fresh and hot. The food was really good. The fries had a little kick to it, I could have probably took it a bit hotter, but still very good. A lunch idea to try something new became a great idea. This place was surrounded by options of fast food and I went in with an open mind hoping they had non spicy option and was I right. I got the 2 tenders and fries. The flavors were just right, seasoning on the fries and rub they used was on point. I came here expecting Nashville hot chicken, but this place seems to have a very different idea of what that means. Nashville hot chicken is supposed to be juicy and covered in a flavorful spicy oil. Here, they just dump chili powder on it. Sure, it's spicy, but that's about it. The seasoning has heat but almost no flavor. The chicken was dry, and the breading was hard and bland. Every bite made me want a drink, not because it was good, but because the chicken had all the moisture cooked out of it. The prices were also hard to believe. I paid around $18 for a slider, one tender, and fries. That's it. Then I saw their signature drink was $4.95. I've had Nashville hot chicken at a lot of places, and this was easily one of the most disappointing versions I've tried. I had really been looking forward to eating here- everything on social media looks phenomenal but I have to be honest and say I was disappointed, especially for the price. My sandwich (mild) had a good amount of spice but my boyfriend's (extra hot) tasted exactly the same. When I tried his chicken nugget one bite was significantly spicier but it wasn't evenly distributed. The cold slaw on the burger was good but without the additional hot honey and cheese (75 cents each) the sandwiches would have been lackluster. The sandwiches also come with a small container of sauce which was very good but too small for a sandwich and fries... additional sauce is 75 cents. It was a good sauce, but nearly a dollar for a couple spoon fulls of spicy mayo seems like a lot. The milkshake ($6.50) was alright, it was pretty thin and I think we were expecting some Oreo chunks or at least more of an Oreo flavor. The cashier was really nice we liked her a lot! For those of us not lucky enough to live by a Dave's Hot Chicken, Bro's Hot Chicken is a worthy alternative! With a very similar menu, Bro's offers huge chicken tenders coated in varying levels of dry spice, seasoned fries, mac and cheese, milkshakes, and a special house-made "Bro Sauce" which is somewhere between Chick-fil-A sauce and Cane's Sauce. I've been twice now and both times the restaurant was out of something (once it was the mac and cheese, another time it was the tenders), but the employees have always been very polite and apologetic and got my food to me quickly. Although the prices may seem high, the tenders are HUGE and delicious! If you're an average spice lover, the Hot is perfect; if you're brave, try the Extra Hot. Such a unique spot! The restaurant had a really cool mural of cartoon chickens living the Miami lifestyle (lol). The food was great and very filling. We had two mozzarella sticks with hot honey, jumbo tender sticks, Mac n Cheese, and a chicken sandwich with fries. The Mac n Cheese and the Mozzarella sticks are some of their best menu items. The flavor was amazing and they were both very cheesy. Additionally, the hot honey and the ranch really made the mozzarella sticks stand out. Inside is small probably enough seating for about 20 people or so. Menu is small and to the point. I ordered the #3 which was a chicken sandwich, jumbo tender and fries. The sandwich comes with Pickles, slaw and their bro sauce which if you are familiar with raising cane's then it's similar. The sandwich was a good size and the chicken was hot and fresh. In fact everything came out steaming hot which was great. Fries were cooked and seasoned perfectly. As for the chicken tender, it appeared to be heavily seasoned but wasn't overpowering. Would have wished it to be crispier and crunchier. I found myself dipping everything in the Bro sauce and once I ran out of sauce didn't really want to continue. Overall the food was good but wish they served more sauce and that they had fountain soda service. Paying 2 dollars for a can of soda when the prices are already a little high is kind of off pudding. I've been hearing so much hype about their chicken and today, I finally got to try it. I visited their new location on SW 67 Avenue off of 8th street, which you have to be careful looking for, since they don't have signage yet. The place has a few tables, is well lit, and has sown cool wall art. Staff was very friendly, and they were very helpful with our item selections. The items and heat levels is very similar to Dave's hot chicken, which I tried in Texas. They have different Heat levels, so I got my sandwich medium and my extra tender Hot. I like spicy, and the HOT definitely has some kick! The medium heat was perfect! The sandwich was delicious, with the chicken perfectly cooked and crispy. The French fries were very good and I loved the Bro sauce. My kids love, their vanilla shake and Bromanade, lemonade, iced tea and passion fruit. My ONLY negative was that it was very pricey. I ordered the two tenders meal "Hot" and basically it was Hotter than I would have preferred or would have thought considering they had 2 levels above "HOT". My Daughter chose medium which was not close to as spicy as mine, I would definitely go with mild and work your way up. The batter was thicker and kind of unexpected, I personally would have preferred a light to medium breaded tender. Recently drove by their storefront/door with a folding table in the warehouse district next to 826 and placed an order for a Bro's #3 a few minutes before pulling up to their parking lot. It's a little hard to find, as the logo is on the inside of the door and not visible if you're driving north, but look for the "4631" on the building next to the impact window shop. The order took about 30 minutes, and was served by a polite teenager who had me sign a quick waiver for the fuego tender I ordered. The food was fresh, but there weren't any napkins or plasticware available, nor a place to sit outside and have my meal hot. I drove it all the way home before digging in. The crinkle fries were tasty, and had a little flavoring from the tender/sandwich seasoning. But I got a side of the bro ranch to dip them in, and it's definitely heavy on the sour cream and not ranch-y - I wasn't a fan, as the consistency is pretty thick. The chicken sandwich (spice level: hot) was still crispy after the drive, and I really liked the pickles that came in the sandwich. The coleslaw was a little untraditional, and while it was tasty, most of it fell out of my sandwich as the cabbage was thickly diced. The spice level, for being regular hot, was actually a little spicier than I've come to expect in Miami. If I had gotten the extra hot, I probably would've been sweating a little into my sandwich. But as it is, hot has a really pleasant flavor and a solid heat - I'd say comparable to a Hattie B's "hot", from what I remember. Would be excellent with a beer, and for those who like spice but still like to taste your food, this is it. Now for the fuego tender: it snuck up on me and my lips are still tingling twenty minutes later. I had to write this review to distract myself. First few bites, it's not super flavorful but more spicy dust - don't sniff your nose if you can avoid it, because I made that mistake and it burns the sinuses. It might be designed for masochists and the waiver is absolutely necessary. I only ate half because the sandwich/fries were really filling, but even if I only got the tender, probably couldn't eat the entire thing. But I really do like my spicy food - for reference for other spice-heads, I just barely survived the one chip challenge 5 minute timer. The fuego is not as bad as the chip, but I certainly wouldn't order it for its flavor. You're eating it to feel something in your soul. Or your bowels. For the lack of Nashville hot chicken in Miami, Bro's certainly fills a need. But I probably wouldn't drive all the way to their storefront to pick it up for dinner. But if you spot them at Smorgasbord, take a chance! read more
