After hearing about the infamous "Reaper" level of spicy at Dave's Hot Chicken, I had to check this place out. I did not have the wherewithal to try the Reaper on this visit, but it's definitely on the list! I decided to begin with Medium and Hot. Hot is hottt, but bearable. The tenders are huuuge and the sliders are almost big enough to be considered a small sandwich. This casual spot is centrally located in Wynwood, although good luck finding a parking spot in this area. There are kiosks for ordering just as you enter, or you can also order at the counter if you prefer. Service is good. Moreover, the staff here have to put up with some bizarre happenings and did not miss a beat. While I was there, a man walked in from the street and he didn't seem well. He approached two young women seated by the door but they immediately got up and went into the women's restroom. He picked food off their table AND out of the trash, then left as soon as the manager rushed over to shoo him out of the restaurant. Overall, not bad. I've been to the Aventura location and the Aventura location is times better as the chicken is way juicier in the Aventura one. I hope this location can improve that. However, the service was great. The girl taking our order was very sweet and food came quick. Also, I appreciate the fact that they are open late, especially on weekdays. The stuff that works his friendly, and it's a pretty simple menu. We ordered chicken tenders, in mixes of mild and medium, which came with fries and bread, we also ordered sodas. The food came out pretty quickly, and everything was hot and fresh, as expected since they make it to order. The fries were very good - tasty, crispy outside and soft inside and the chicken was delicious, especially with the Dave's sauce. Warning: I love spicy food and even the medium was making me cry.
