This is an update, but really nothing has changed since my previous review! Broad Ripple Tans is a great local tanning salon with excellent customer service. I still find myself popping in before a vacation to get a nice glow. Tim, the owner, is always friendly and I'm always impressed that he remembers my name. Though nothing fancy, Broad Ripple Tan works for me, offering package deals and student discounts. The best thing going for it; LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. I wish I could give another half star for this review because everyone is always very friendly and it's clean, but could definitely use a few more parking spots. They offer stand ups, traditional & spray tans and don't make you buy a membership. Tan once or stock up & use when needed. I started coming here about a week before I went to Mexico for vacation to build up a bit of a base tan so I wouldn't end up a crispy lobster a day into my week vacation. I took advantage of their package deals and did a week long level 2 bed for $20. Not a bad deal compared to some of the chains I've seen advertised online. Broad Ripple Tans isn't one of those fancy schmancy boutique tanning salons that has matching uniforms and orange oompa-loompas walking around. Nope. This is a no frills local kind of tanning place where people get a good deal, hot bulbs, and walk out feeling a little warmer and looking a little darker. I usually end up here around 8pm and I'm usually the only one here. I've also come on the weekend later in the morning and again have been about the only one here. I've never waited on a bed, or waited in a line to put my name in. The friendly staff is prompt and gets you in your bed and on your way in just a few seconds. When I'm tanning, it doesn't get much better than that. read more

I have an unlimited monthly spray tan package and I think this place is one of the most affordable I've ever been to! The girls that spray are super accommodating and always do what I ask! I've never walked away not liking my spray. The solution doesn't last long on my skin, in my opinion, but it's unlimited so I just go back and touch up as needed. I love broad ripple tans! Their customer service is excellent and the owner is super chill. They never try to pressure you to spend more than you're willing or to purchase their upgrades/products unless it's truly a benefit to you! They may have lower quality beds than other tanning salons in the area, but they're always clean and get the job done! read more

I used to be a usual at Sun Tan City but they were very expensive & I did not always have the best customer service. But when I came to Broad Ripple Tans everything changed... The stand up tanning bed is awesome! Just pop right in & pop right out. Simple & quick, just how I like it. Plus, the lotions and deals they have are amazing! Highly recommended. read more

They seriously took the best pictures of this place. Because in my experience it didn't look this nice at all. Super dingy and dirty looking. All the bed are old and out dated. Had to switch beds because two bulbs were out, one was flickering but looked more like it was sparking. The reason why I gave 2 stars was because the staff was very nice and for free upgraded me because the bed I had wasn't in working order. Parking was a nightmare, if you have a bigger car don't even try to park here. Unfortunately I won't be back. read more

I have been going here since 2009. I think the same guy still owns it. The prices are very reasonable. They run specials all the time. A current special I take advantage of: if you go in before 11am it only costs $5 for the basic bed. If you buy a bottle of lotion you get free tanning sessions. The people that work there have always been very friendly to me. I've never had to wait very long for a bed. You don't have to clean the bed before or after you go in. They do a very good job of that. There's a cd player/ radio, mirror, fan, place to hang your clothes. Well lit and smells clean. I go here regularly for both the beds and the spray tans. The staff is friendly and always calls me by name. Prices are extremely reasonable and there are different levels of beds to choose from. The beds and rooms are clean and well kept and are always stocked with fresh towels and goggles. The free candy up front is an extra added bonus. I won't go anywhere else! read more

Okay everyone, you are eating and shopping local...so TAN local! I am guilty of a spray tan member ship elsewhere (groan...you know who, the Walmart of Tanning) out of pure convenience, but when I want to UV tan (just a couple times a year, I know I know) I always come here. The Standup bed is my first choice and I don't mind waiting 5 minutes for it. You only need a few minutes to tan in this bed anyway. There is no sales pitchy screeching like elsewhere and I found my favorite lotion $20 less here (not even on sale). Everyone that works here is super nice, including the owner. I just love family owned Indianapolis businesses! I have spray tanned here before but it's been a couple years. Check it out. Favorite tanning place in Indianapolis! And trust me I have tried them all! I stick with the standup bed here because I feel it's the strongest for the shortest amount of time! It is so much better than Sun Tan City, they don't make you sign up with a credit card and waste money that isn't necessary. It's basically a dollar a minute! I went a couple times for a single session to be sure that i liked it, bur after the first, i knew i did. i joined as a vip (unlimited tanning, 25/month!!) the staff is incredibly kind and helpful. i would choose them over any chain tanning company any day. 10/10! read more

I needed to get a little glow this winter before my destination wedding and discovered this place. This is the only tanning salon I've been to that doesn't try to guilt you into buying lotion at each visit, and it's awesome that they give you the goggles for free! tuesday open till 9 p.m. I hadn't tanned in awhile since another place gave me a tingle 45 lotion that gave me second degree burned skin damage... the ladies consulted with me & got me started with a very gentle lotion & short time sessions to prevent any skin damages. The unlimited super beds package is a STEAL for the quality of beds they maintain! They provide cute shape stickers & also eye protection. Some places have been using the eye stickers that are not safe & others don't have eye wear at all!!!! I will NEVER go anywhere else as long as I live. It would take something very extreme to send my business elsewhere! ThanKs tanII! read more
