This is our favorite park to go to as a family. The kids playground includes an area for little ones and a couple different areas depending on the age of the child - all right next to each other. There are tables and plenty of seating to watch play (but play with them too!). There's a big open area for lawn games and also a splash pad with more seating and a pavilion you can rent for parties. All things enclosed and pets or bikes are not allowed. In addition to this there is a massive lawn to play things like soccer or other sports, great paved walking or biking paths and it even goes into the woods where you can play in the creek. There are plenty of great trails here, paved and dirt, and a hand-full of fun geocaches if you download the app. Very amazing park! read more

This is my favorite part due to safe cleanliness and safety. It is a very open space to exploit paved grounds or wooded groups. It is part of the big parks plan of Louisville which loops approximately 55 miles around. They also offer hiking for kids and a huge playground/spray ground. read more

The end of a string of parks on a small body of running water called Floyd's Fork, this is like all of them free and quite majestic. Notable aspects of this part are its playgrounds and water park; there were more small children here than in the neighboring parks. A rock garden on the hill offers some interesting sights, and this park covers a lot of elevations with a central paved trail but also opportunities to divert to some more challenging hills or head down to the river. It isn't terribly far from Louisville, but it fells a world away. read more

My absolute favorite park in the city of Louisville. Massive park systems that connects to multiple parks, walking trails and amazing sights. Thai particular portion of the park has a very large spray ground that I've taken advantage of numerous times with my children. It also has a massive playground area. Fair warning though on hot summer days when going from the splash park to the playground to have the kiddos and adults put on shoes. They use rubber matting and it gets scorching hot on the bare feet. This park if you keep driving through does eventually connect to turkey run park and the brown foreman silo which is a cool sight seeing opportunity. I've yet to discover all trails and probably never will as there are so many options. The small walking trails towards the entrance are very peaceful, moderate difficult and beautiful. I can not recommend this park enough. Every time I go I fell like I discover a new part. Always lots of fun and adventure for all ages. read more

I cannot believe it took me this long to visit Broad Run Park at The Parklands of Floyds Fork! This has to be my new favorite park! I met with a new friend Sunday and walked about 5 miles. The paved path is covered with some shade and is very easy to walk. I think it would be great for someone wanting to rollerskate or rollerblade. There were many paths into the woods. My new friend showed me a few cool spots in the wooded areas. I'm excited to come back and explore even more! read more

I love Broad Run Park at The Parklands of Floyds Fork! There are so many things to experience here. We often ride our bikes on the trails in the area, but they're also great for walking and hiking. The views are absolutely beautiful, I love the fields of wildflowers. Plus, there are some amazing overlook areas. And, like the rest of The Parklands, there are lots of other amenities, including a playground, fishing access, and more. Absolutely beautiful park! My dad wanted to show me some nearby parks in Fern Creek, and I'm so glad that he showed me this one! The ones I normally go to are fairly small, so when I visited Broad Run, I was astonished by its beautiful wide open spaces. It's got just about everything. Walking/running/biking trails, lookouts, and a fun, good-sized playground for children. Not to mention it's also got a small creek if you're into kayaking. This park is absolutely wonderful! The splash pad is quite big where the kids have fun running around. There are two parks attached to the splash pad that can accommodate little and bigs kids. Covered picnic areas are available for families to eat and also to have celebrations but its first come first serve. Bathrooms and water fountains are available for use as well. Animals, skateboards, grills, bikes and scooters are prohibited. Throughout the park area there are walking/running/biking trails. There is a silo that you can climb and look at the beautiful view. read more

Great park for families. Lots of open spaces, playground, sprayground, and trails are well kept. Park is dog-friendly (except the playground areas), assuming dogs are to be kept on-leash. Another new addition to the Parklands. We visited because we wanted to check out some of the trails and visit a new park. The unpaved trails were, once again, unfinished and blocked off. But the Louisville Loop is paved and pretty and ready for walking, running and biking! The views are gorgeous. And if you're in it for the distance, you can easily get to Turkey Run Park by taking the Loop. There are posted maps and park information in some parking areas, and clean, well-kept facilities for peeing purposes. I love how the Parklands are expanding and growing! I just wish that all the things noted on the website (the trails, things to see) were complete when the parks open. read more

An expansive and delightful Park near Mount Washington, my husband and I recently visited to do some recon for a function he's helping to plan for work. It was really quite cold, despite the sun being out, and the grounds were all still a bit mucky given the recent snows, so we didn't get to see even half of what this location has to offer! We visited the Woodland Pavillion (for gatherings and functions), The Woodland Garden (currently under construction), and the Play & Splash Park (the water won't be back on until May)... While there we saw people walking, running, biking, and walking their dogs along the parks winding paths. The parking lots were all very clean and all of the lighting around the place suggests it's very well lit! Their Unisex and Family Restroom facilities were all quite clean convenient, and functional. There were trash and recycling receptacles conveniently placed. The Woodland Pavillion is a sight to behold and I'm excited to see how my Hubs' Company Picnic turns out later this year. Besides the large canopy, there's not a ton if shade in this location, but from the number if new trees that have been planted, I'm guessing there will be much more shade in years to come. Over at the Splash Park there was tons of shaded seating, and the whole thing looked pretty fun! The Playground itself is very modern (why didn't we have playgrounds like this when I was a kid?!?) and I personally couldn't help but take a few moments to hop on the swings, despite the cold wind a-blowin'... I'm very excited to explore this location further in years to come... read more

This is a wonderful park with something for everyone. Trails for biking and hiking. Playground and spray ground for kids. Picnic areas, though grills ate severely restricted. Launch areas for canoes and kayaks. Many times, the areas abundant wildlife can be observed. All in all, a local treasure. This is by far the best part that my family and I have ever been to. They have everything you could want the children's play area has many obstacle courses swings it has a splash park for the kids I want to get wet and run in and out of the water they have picnic areas everywhere where you can take your family and eat and have barbecues and all kinds of different fun activities. They have walking trails both for people that like challenges and people that like leisure activities they have wooden walking trails and they also have concrete walking trails they have water to look at feels to play football and baseball and this park is excellent I do not find any negative qualities with it in my family and I will always return I highly recommend it. read more

I recently have started training for hiking season and was searching for different parks other than the main ones in Louisville. I found out about the Parklands at Floyds Fork. I first visited Beckley Creek Park and was pleasantly surprised. It was clean, plenty of parking, and lots of different areas to have picnics, take walks, or just explore. After a few times visiting I realized this must be the more "popular" of the parklands as it was fairly busy. I started to visit Broad Run park and noticed there seemed to be less people and more nature to explore. It has a few trails that are easy (paved), soft dirt trails, and more difficult dirt trails. One of the more beautiful hikes is the Limestone Gorge Trail. It's about 1.25 miles and has some outstanding views! You can also take the Louisville Loop to connect with the other parks in the Parklands. They have a playground for kids, a pavilion for events, and a nice amount of picnic areas if you want to enjoy a lunch outside in the gorgeous sunshine! There are also access points for paddling access throughout the park. I encourage everyone to visit this location, it has many surprises that adults and kids can both enjoy. I know I mentioned the views but they even have an overlook! Clean park, new facilities, friendly staff, and well posted signage/trail heads are some of the reasons I love this area! read more

Love taking the kids I babysit here! They have a blast on the park and the splash park. My only complaint is that there is no shade in the playground area for the tables. We had to leave after 15 minutes the other day because I was dying under the sun. I'd suggest maybe some umbrellas? Otherwise, love this place! read more

This is one of my favorite places to visit. There is so much to do here. There are wide open fields for you to do you own thing. Whether it be some kind of sport with family or friends or having a picnic. There is a playground and water park for the kids. Tons of hiking trails. Several of these trails have been renovated with nice brick paver stones that lead to gorgeous views and nice picnic/resting areas. There is also access to water for kayaking, fishing, and swimming.
