Plenty of walkers, runners, bikers, dog walkers, recreational users (frisbees and kites), tailgaters, and drivers today. We stopped to catch a break near the top of the hill at Hogan's Fountain. The water fountains and faucets (to fill up dog bowls) were all operational today in mid-March. Restroom facilities were also open.

The pavilion is beautiful and gives the park a polished, welcoming feel. Plenty of shady spots and benches make it easy for parents (and grandparents!) to sit and relax while the kids burn off energy. All in all, if you're looking for a peaceful, charming park close to town with good amenities, Springs Park delivers. Highly recommend for families, casual visitors, or anyone wanting a breath of fresh air in a pretty setting.

The expansive brick-arched pavilion resembles a train station which is in keeping with the trains that travel down the town's Main Street daily. I was told that the pavillion is host to many musical events and the Saturday artisans/farmer's market. Also keeping with the town's love of trains, there is a piece of playground equipment fashioned after a locomotive. The playground has areas that are appropriate for younger and older children. Included in the areas are musical instruments, slides, rope bridge, climbing wall, merry-go-round and more. There is a building with very nice restrooms. There is an area of dedicated parking and there is also street parking available nearby. There is an abundance of nearby shops and eateries along Main Street.

There are tables and plenty of seating to watch play (but play with them too!). There's a big open area for lawn games and also a splash pad with more seating and a pavilion you can rent for parties. All things enclosed and pets or bikes are not allowed. In addition to this there is a massive lawn to play things like soccer or other sports, great paved walking or biking paths and it even goes into the woods where you can play in the creek. There are plenty of great trails here, paved and dirt, and a hand-full of fun geocaches if you download the app. Very amazing park!

The restrooms may be closed because of cold weather but, the playground is a wonderful place to take young children. It will keep them busy for hours. An there are still the well maintained walking paths and the park is still Pet Friendly. Masks are still required as they are at all playgrounds and a 6 foot distance must be maintained from others until further notice.

You have to experience the water front to see how beautiful it truly is! If you're into the boating scene you can bring your own. Rent a jet ski! Or go for a kayaking trip. Whatever way you choose to have fun on the water can be done here . We just sit and enjoy one another . The splash of the water against the waves. It's a great change to a cactus and rock landscape. Once you go Kentucky you never will go back . If your a girl like me, it was the desert decision all my days prior. My new future is here among the Midwest trees, grass, and fresh air once my body adjusts to the climate conditions of the area . Sometimes the beauty is a short term miracle for me because of the headaches but they will pass . Until the next time we sit and think the water front feels like a lost paradise .
