Coming in from out of…read moretown, I made the mistake of not realizing that smaller towns fill up quick with appointments; causing me to scramble to get in somewhere with enough time before the big day. I pulled up Google, and Tina's Nails was one of the first places to pop up. Despite the short notice and not initially mentioning that the purpose was for my wedding, Tina was incredibly sweet and scheduled me within my time window. Upon arrival, Tina was very sweet and worked with me on what I was hoping for with my nails. When I mentioned my wedding, she took great care to make sure my nails would look amazing and paid attention to the extra details to make sure the nails lasted for a while, as my reception would be later in the week. Her hard work paid off, as my nails still look fantastic over a week later and were looking amazing for both the ceremony and reception. Her shop is so nice, and creates a relaxed atmosphere. It was relaxing and I felt very well taken care of, it was a fantastic treat and breath of fresh air as I prepared for my wedding day. :)

MY REVIEW: This shop was wonderful, and I absolutely intend on going back. The work stations were very clean, the techs were very efficient, very thorough and very talented. My tech, Linda, helped recommend colors and even did a little artwork on my toes that looks awesome. The entire pedicure, from the trim to the scrub/leg massage to the final painting was a great experience. I happily give them 5 stars! My observation while in the shop: There were a lot of people being served in the shop and I noticed that those who were there to enjoy themselves, did just that. Yes, we had appointments, yes they were running a little late, so what? Those girls were working as fast as they could and still were treating each client as if they were the only person in there while working on them. There was one lady in particular who came in right at 7 pm without an appointment and from the moment she approached the nice lady at the front desk to the the techs performing the work she talked down to everyone in the shop. I was furious to see how this lady talked down to these techs. She was demanding and rude even though they had worked her and her 2 children in at closing time without an appointment, and the shop had graciously accommodated them. My takeaway is this. You cannot please everyone, and it's the people who are not happy in general who will look for a reason to dislike a business and they are usually the people who take the time to write a review.

If you are sensitive to smells, this may not be the place for you. They are a full service salon in a pretty small space, so the chemical smells are really intense.

However, she immediately started to invite me to her church. This continued even after I told her I was already affiliated with a church. Her behavior continued and culminated in her literally laying hands on me to "pray for me". She did this when I was reclined and she was washing my hair making it difficult for me to physically stop her. I told her to stop as I didn't share her beliefs. Things started to get worse from this point. She even had her husband come into the salon to tell me I should appreciate that his wife was even doing my hair. This was not the only examples of her unprofessional behavior. I noticed she never let me watch her in the mirror and that a friend recently commented on how my hair was damaged in the back. She was always trying to give me medical advice on the use of vitamin supplements. She would ask me very personal financial questions and then started commenting on political issues. I finally told her I didn't share her opinions and asked her to not discuss politics. Then the final straw was when she asked me if my values caused problems with my children and grandchildren! I was actually shocked that she would ask such a judgemental question!! The implication was clear - I must have no values or morals since I didn't agree with her religion and political views. And mind you I never talked about religion or politics. A beautician should not give out medical advice on the use of vitamin supplements and should NEVER lay their hands on you and start praying for you. This is NEVER ok.
