I waited for a pedicure without being told how long it would be. When I sat in the chair to get a pedicure, I found someone's eyelashes that they had left behind. Absolutely disgusting. This place has some rough reviews but I am a Fountain City girlie and I love to keep my business here as much as I can so I went in on a random Saturday as a walk in. The front desk staff is soooo friendly and got me in for a full set, pedi and even a lash and brow appointment a little later in the afternoon!?! Like okay, go off already. My pedicure was lovely - I really liked the darker room & chill vibe. My toes look fabulous and my feet feel great. Then, I went on to my full set with Kevin who helped decipher my weird way of saying what I was looking for which was basically a liquid gel full set. Let me say, I don't usually get full sets but these are some of the best fake nails that I've ever gotten. He was meticulous on the shape and the color came out so nice. Every single time we visit there's a mistake. Today was no different. I got the #3 pedicure for me & my mother. They started at the same time. They were out of neck wraps (and didn't tell me .... I asked halfway thru). And my mother's pedicure ended 20 minutes before mine did. When I asked about why I was told by the woman that my mother got a #2 instead of a #3 because another customer needed a pedicure. It felt sneaky & unethical. (My person, Joe, was excellent though.). I told the receptionist about what happened. She was kind at first but then told me she knew all about elderly people. I came in on Monday to have a manicure done with Kathy. I had made my appointment a week prior. My appointment was at one, and I wasn't sat down until 1:15 pm. It seemed to me like Kathy rushed doing my nails, and as my first time here, I was a little disappointed. The customer sitting next to me got a hand massage with lotion at the end of her appointment, which is something I didn't get, but should have. Upon paying and going out to my car, my one nail smudged already. So I turned around and walked right back in to get it redone. Kathy, of course, was with her next client already. Her brother fixed my nail and did a much better job than what was done on my whole manicure. I went in for a pedicure and full set. Pedicure was fine. Full set looked like clown nails. I kept telling the guy dog my nails the base color wasn't dark enough and had in picture of what I wanted up and kept telling him. He did not offer to stop and fix it he told me at then end they would look like my photo I wanted. Well when done they are purple and pink not brown to blackish purple like I wanted to so tell them I am unhappy and want them redone or taken off. So they proceed to try to airbrush over the base dip color instead of redoing the base color which is what was needed. When he is finished my nails look even more like clown nails and now were orange and purple not brown to black ombré. So I again let them know I am unhappy. I told then they looked so bad I didn't want to leave the salon so I wanted them redone completely or taken off. They soak then off hatfully then let me know that I will be paying for the soak off even though my nails looked so bad I refised to even leave. I told them I would not pay for the soak off then was told I either pay or call the cops. So then I paid and told them I'd dispute with my credit card company. Lucky my dad owns auto parts locators and has a lawyer paid up at all times to deal with the things.unasked to speak to the owner who used to do my nails and was refused to talk with the owner. Then when they realized I was serious I get a call quick from the owner. This is bad customer service I should have been able to talk to the owner about my issue especially when I know him and he did my nails himself for years. I know he would not be ok with what happened and once he talked to me he was not on with it. The owner also knew there was health code violations in his salon he acknowledged that when I brought up the uncleanliness and several other things Also let me be clear I had no issue paying for the pedicure just the nails that where so bad I was embarrassed to leave with them Besides this the nail salon was gross there was nastiness on the walls beside where I go my pedicure and it was very unclean in other areas as well. Staff were standing in the back talking not doing their job when I went back in for a business card no one was upfront they were in the back on their phones outside the back door which was open Years ago I went every other week to the owner and loved this salon I am saddened that I will NEVER. The reason i choose "maybe" is i like the atmosphere which is in a private and dimmed room designated specifically for pedicures. Horrible experience today! I made 2 appts so that my daughter & I could enjoy a pedi together. I advised when booking our appts that I wanted the Brooklyn Bridge #2 pedi which is advertised as $40 on their website & I wanted gel polish for myself which is an additional $15...after waiting until 3:25 for our scheduled 3pm pedi's we were sat down to empty pedi foot bowls, as the tech was starting to file off the gel I already had on my toes I asked where the water was? He then started running the water but no effervescent plug which I also had to ask for. Not only was I rushed, but he was dousing water all over my legs & in the floor & NEVER clipped my toenails or FILED them & barely SCRUBBED them. The massage part was the biggest let down aside from one of my toes not even being polished! I went to pay for our services & saw that my daughters ticket was $47 (I hadn't received my ticket yet) because she just got reg polish but the price was supposed to be $40, so I told the receptionist (thinking the person wrote down the wrong amount) but I was told that no, that is the correct price that they just haven't updated it on the website! THAT IS RIDICULOUS & A VERY DECEITFUL BUSINESS PRACTICE! I decided I wouldn't be returning to Broadway Nails again & would chalk it up to a learning experience but $110.50 is a very expensive learning experience!!! And once I got a good look at my toenails in the light & saw that my baby nail didn't even get polished, that's when I changed my mind. That is consumer fraud and misrepresentation of service which is ILLEGAL!! Hint to OWNER use your computer and print out a sign that prices have changed and see the front desk with questions. OR, print out a new menu with current prices!!! Super hard to relax and enjoy my pedicure as I had to turn sideways in the chair to soak my nails and fingers (see pic) in acetone. My pinky toe was actually SNAPPED! when she put the toe spacers on, I got a smile when I gasped!! (see pic). Completely rushed during manicure as well. She used 2 UV boxes and it was always "this hand, other hand" the whole time. It was the same on my first manicure there but I went back thinking maybe it was just a busy day. NOPE, same rushed service. While others were asked if they wanted wine, water or Coke, I was not asked either time. Stations dirty, walls dirty, instruments not in sterile packs and barely sprayed with alcohol. Nails not dusted so I have lumps and gel on my fingers and outside my cuticles. When you enter it looks great, brand new nice layout and furniture...but then you wait two hours to get seated and instead of having someone help remove your old SNS/powder they rudely throw down a bowl of acetone and a piece of paper towel and tell you the fast you scrub the sooner you can get started...no sanding off the top layer or foil wraps...literally a bowl of acetone and you sitting alone for another 30 min while the nail techs wonder around... then waiting for you to be done removing your own color!!!!! The worst experience ever. The technician did not have a clean towel, did not ask me to wash my hands before or during. Grinded off my gel polish. Ouch! Files nails wrong after being corrected several times. My hands were laying in grit. Put Lotion on dirty hands. Polish was on the sides of my fingers. Sprayed off instruments with spray dilute alcohol. No mask. I had mine. No shield. After he was finished ask if that was good "mommy". I am an RN. One that works surgery and am a stickler about technique and cleanliness. The manager gave a percentage off the bill and tried to practice service recovery but it didn't work. I will never go back. And I will tell anyone that will listen. read more
