Hmmm.. not sure where to start. They had one lady running everything at the front desk. Maybe that's changed? Hopefully. The teachers? Young and seem over worked. You can always tell a teacher who doesn't have their heart in the art of dance. But then again, how can they when they're so over worked? We came here from another studio- if you're looking for something on the core foundation side of dancing- it's not really here. This is more fun, entertaining and keeps your kid active. Which is good, yes! But I understand to more advanced dancers, some classes here would probably seem like a joke. Parking lot is always chaos. Recitals? Wishy washy and chaotic- I guess that can be normal for recitals. Expect your entire day to be solely based on the recital day.. as it is mandatory for all dancers to be there for dress rehearsal and then come back later for the recital itself or literally just hang out all day there till the recital starts. Which is normal for recitals. I say wishy washy because despite other parents busting their butts to get their kid to dress rehearsals, they still let other dancers do the recital sans the rehearsal. Which isn't bad, but I think it's some sort of favoritism. Having volunteered to help in the back, I've witnessed them turn young dancers away from participating in the recital because they missed rehearsal.... and then I've witnessed them let other dancers participate despite missing dress rehearsal?........ Why did it bother me? Well, because I saw a few kids hearts get stomped on after they were turned away and not allowed to dance. Then I saw a few others skip happily on in. Kinda left a sour taste in my mouth. 2 stars because they do keep kids busy and entertained while in class. read more

Nice small neighborhood studio in Hercules. Offers wide selection of classes for toddlers, school-aged kids, teens, and adults. Zumba classes here fantastic - Kevin is great! Wonderful workout for $5 drop-in fee. Very affordable. Lots of parking (mini-mall locale). Only bit of constructive criticism, front office staff seems aloof, could use refresher on how to greet customers. Overall, great spot to dance and workout. read more

I am only writing this review because I use to dance here. I guess the only way I will go about writing this review is making a pros and cons list. Way easier that way. PROS: - in a good area (as far as parking and traffic is concerned) - the studio floors are clean - there are two separate dance rooms, one enclosed and one as you walk in - there is plenty of seating for parents - check in area is decent - bathroom is a decent size - full sized mirrors and barres - dance rooms are a good size - class sizes are good CONS: - no changing rooms available (the one and only bathroom is the changing room) - the studio isn't in the greatest neighborhood (really ghetto looking) - the staff could be way nicer (everyone looks they have an attitude and don't really care for helping each other out much) - dance teachers would be nicer - carpets either need to be changed or washed (they are super gross and old) - the outside of the building could/should have a clear display of the dance title - dance items here (dance shoes) are over priced (don't waste your money) - kind of expensive classes , days and times are a bit odd They do try for the small studio that it is and for all the dance competitions that it's dancers has been involved in but I would much rather keep dancing at BBT. Also parents, enroll your kids there, much better teachings there. read more

BRDC is a great dance studio! This studio is a safe place where toddlers, kids, teens, and adults can dance and exercise. Trina and all her staff are very friendly, understanding, and patient. They all care about the success and growth of their dancers. The teachers know how to discipline their students without being mean or aggressive. They are always supportive and encouraging. BRDC is a quality studio because the students learn about dance technique while still having a fun time! Trina also finds great opportunities for her students to grow as dancers on the stage and in the studio. For example, she provides dancers with the chance to perform at community events, competitions, cruises, Disneyland, holiday shows and so many other events! This is a great way to build the confidence of her dancers and get them used to performing. She really prepares and trains the kids to be great dancers and performers! The studio has a great location in the Creekside Shopping Center. There is a lot of parking in front of the studio. BRDC has full mirrors, stable barres, a good dancing surface, and a great sound system. The tuition costs are affordable. Also, there are fundraising opportunities to save money on costumes and tuition. BRDC offers a variety of classes and levels of dance. The ladies who work the desk are very approachable and happy to answer any questions. It is also easy to contact Trina through e-mail or phone. BRDC is a perfect place for taking dance classes because the dancers, teachers, and staff all care about each other. There is always a positive attitude and everyone loves to dance! There isnt much in this area to chose from, but that doesnt mean I dont expect quality. My daughter doesnt care what the class is like, she is 3. But as a parent Im disappointed. I signed up and spent an addition 40$ on shoes and the class was on tuesday nights. Then it ended, the website was not updated, and I come to find the next class isnt for a month and will be at 930am on a saturday or 645 pm on thursdays. Dude, the class is for 3 yr olds. At 645 they are getting ready for bed. I need classes that are ideally late afternoon, like 4 pm, not dinnertime. I called so many times and sent many emails and never got my calls returned. Add to that its HOT as heck in there, and lobby floor is super dirty. read more

I have been calling this place since thanksgiving weekend, I have left three messages to get my daughter enrolled and no one ever got back to me. It really sucks, because this place is close by. But looking at all the reviews they may not be so great, so I am happy I didn't go with them. Going to try the one in Pinole. read more

I don't know why anyone would write a bad review, obviously they don't know much about dance. I have spent a lot of time around dance, my mom was a dance teacher, and my niece spent her early 20's in the choir of a dance company. So when my 6 year old wanted to dance, a friend's mom told us about BRDC. I got an immediate response via email, and we went and sat in on a class before signing up, the instructor even let my daughter dance for a bit during the class. The instructors are ver knowledgeable and patient with young kids!! I don't know why you weren't send your kids anywhere else. The price is amazing, $50/m for a weekly class, you can't beat that! Plus for those reviewers complaint about the lesson times, that's how it works in the dance world. The staff and instructors have been amazing, and the studio is super cute and in a convenient location. read more

Great dance studio, conveniently located near Home Depot, Big Lots, post office, banks, nail salons and within 2-3 minutes from Starbucks, Lucky and Rite Aid. So there is plenty of parking and things to do while waiting for your child. All teachers are nice, professional and attentive. Kids are always in a great mood after each class. They have jazz, tap, ballet and hip hop. The dancers perform at various local events including Hercules Tree Lighting, 4th of July parade, Crockett Sugar Town festival, Pinole Octoberfest, Oakland Holiday parade. The competition team competes a few times a year in the Bay Area and also performs at Disneyland, Disney world and on cruise ships. They also successfully competed at Thunderstruck National in Las Vegas. The studio is very clean and well organized. They have a web site that is always up to date and is very easy to use. Not only you can check the class schedule but also you can make payments online and see all upcoming events including competitions. This is exactly what we need for our Hercules community. So glad they moved here from Rodeo! read more

I danced for almost 10 years at Steps and continued there when Trina bought the studio and changed the name to Broadway Rhythm Dance Company. I have many complaints similar to the other negative reviews of BRDC. There is a general unprofessional air among the staff. I too had the (major) issue of driving to the studio, ready for class, only to find that my class time and day had been permanently changed and I was never notified (I still don't know why). However, this was after I waited for the other dancers and my teacher to show up for about 15-20 minutes. I finally went up to the lady at the desk and asked her why no one had showed up and she informed me that the class had been changed. (This was also after another teacher of mine as well as a competition teammate both watched me walk into the studio and sit in the room alone for 15 minutes giving me puzzled looks. Why neither of them had the courtesy to talk to me, I still don't know). Also, not to mention, this was a class for a competition team class. After walking out that day, I never returned. I never thought I could feel so hurt and betrayed by a dance studio but they definitely managed to make me feel like a piece of trash that wasn't worth their time. This incident was the last straw after various other miscommunications from the staff and poor choices from Trina. For example, having Katie's Dance Studio dancers take over the BRDC holiday show. I know that I was not the only BRDC student to feel bulldozed by the other studio's dancers. We weren't even told that they would be there and only found out during dress rehearsal by seeing them all there. (Katie is Trina's mom. You think you're going to BRDC but it's really just a satellite studio of Katie's with how much time and control Katie put into the studio). However, if you somehow manage to be on Trina and the rest of the staffs' good side, you will be fine and never have any complaints. I'm not sure what I did but somehow I also wasn't even worth the time to order me a competition team jacket (that everyone else had). Way to make me feel like part of the team, Trina. Anyways, long story short... Don't put your kid in this position. Get them into a studio that will actually help them improve as a dancer and as a person. This place will teach dancers to be nothing but sneaky people and mediocre dancers. BRDC might try to claim that they made professional dancers but the few girls who have moved on to dancing professionally grew up at Steps, not BRDC. Trina only started training them as teenagers. I wish I had left the minute Jennifer sold Steps. read more

What a great dance studio! My kids are receiving top level dance training, with lots of opportunities for performance throughout the year. I couldn't disagree more with the one bad review, as I have found the teachers and employees there to be welcoming and extremely friendly. (Besides, if you click on that person's profile, you will see a glowing review for a "competing" dance studio - although I don't think there is any reason for dance studios to compete!) By renting a studio in this area, the price of the classes is kept down to a very affordable rate, which I prefer to a more upscale area with higher prices. I would recommend Broadway Rhythm Dance Company to anyone who is interesting in an excellent dance studio. read more

Broadway Rhythm Dance Company has moved from Rodeo to Hercules. The studio is small, no place for parents. You just drop the kid off and go away. Has impacted any communication with the teacher/office staff which was never very good to begin with. I don't know if the studio is super cute as I have never been invited inside. For picture day, the kids had to stand outside in their costumes waiting for their turn. Good thing the weather was good! and the perv in the parking lot got quite a show. read more

My daughter started dancing at the Rodeo location and it was ok. Once they moved to Hercules it was a disaster. First, they only gave parents two week notice about the move and the extra charge. I was thinking better location, better studio great, but that wasn't it. The location is not great at all. Parents are not allowed to go inside to see the kids dance, you have to stay outside, (during the cold days in December). Also, if any of the girls wanted to use the restroom they had to go through another room where the door was closed and you could not see them. When my daughter started the class were about 7 little girls in her class. I thought it was good because they teacher (a student herself) could spend time with them. but once they moved the class got a little bigger over 13 little girls of 5 and under. Most of them need help in switching shoes out. So no the teacher spend 10 mins of the class helping all the little girls. I tried contacting the owner and I never received a call or email back. The last thing that killed it for me was that the owner wanted to order the girls costumes in December for a June performance. that is 6 months in advance! the price of the costumes were ridiculous. I stop going is January and they tried to charge me for February. Not sure if they have improved their communication or solved the problem of parents outside. The old laction was old and kind of dirty but at least spacious. They moved to a new loaction now and OMG, it is too tiny. My daughter's class has 8-9 kids and the kids are not able to move around due to limited space. There is no waiting area for parents. The parents have to wait outside in the cold while their kid is in dance session. I have a 2 year old that I have to take with me while my 5 year old is in lesson. I stay in the cold with my poor 2 year old. As bad as I want to keep my daughter with her dance friends, I am taking her out. This is the second week since they moved and since I already paid for the full month of January, my daughter will stay until the end of January and she will be in another dance studio the beginning of next month. If you plan to enroll your child, please check out the studio physically before you fill out the registration. Like the other parent said on the review, their website is not updated and they don't answer the phone. read more
