This is my 4th visit to Broken Clock. The 1st was at the old location and that was an awesome 1st experiennce. They had a Santa pet photo shoot. I like that dogs can be inside. That is a huge draw. The furniture is Mid Cent Modern and fun. Great space. Beer is excellent. But... there is something off about the vibe. Staff not overly friendly if friendly at all. Definitely do not feel welcome into the space. I so want to like this place. read more

My brother-in-law and I and my sister love doing tap room tours and they happened to be in town from Vancouver. It was a cold day in North Minneapolis and this was our second and last stop on our tap room tour. I ordered an IPA and it was plenty good. We had a lot of laughs and they have a great setup here. A great neighborhood spot to grab a beer in a more laid back environment. This newer taproom provides plenty of space and plenty of beer! This taproom has a neighborhood/DIY vibe as the majority of the taproom + furnishings were a labor of love by their members. It provides a large bar, lots of tables (for both small and big groups) and a small kids area as well. This definitely isn't the fanciest taproom you will visit - but a great spot for a a slightly calmer environment. They also do have a few pinball/arcade games. They typically have 10-12 beers on tap that covers a wide range of styles and tastes. The pints are bit pricier for a taproom at $7 each and most tulips ~ $5. They do offer flights of 5 beers for $8 - simply fill out a form with which beers you want in your flight and they will fill them in order to help you keep track. Over the few times I have visited - my favorite beers have been the lavender IPA and the coffee kolsch. This brewery is a co-op, so if you buy a membership they offer discounted beers, access to special events and a few free beers/growler fills throughout the year. read more

Only open on Fridays and Saturdays. Love their Minuteman NEIPA and the blood orange infused Minuteman. This is the old location of 56 Brewing and has an interesting SoCal desert-like charm to it. Too bad because they're said to be opening a new taproom on the south side next to Riffs. Like these guys just like when 56 was here. My favorite brewery in the Twin Cities. It is a hole in the wall (literally) off the beaten path, and is the perfect Nordeast brewery. They are dog friendly, which is always a perk, and the people there are always warm and welcoming. A great place to stop for a growler! And their beer? Can't be beat. They are always coming up with some delicious varieties, but have a couple staples which can't be beat- including the lavender IPA and the 2:Brew which is a light beer with coffee, something I have never seen before and it is so delicious! We came here on a Sunday afternoon during covid-19. Both taproom and outside patio was open. We sat outside because it was a beautiful day. They had tarps set up over the patio for shade. Masks are required when inside and they do provide masks and hand sanitizer. There was also a band playing, fun entertainment. Dogs are welcome, we didn't bring ours, he's not very well behaved in public, but we saw other dogs enjoying themselves! It was a great day for beer on the patio. No reservations required. read more

Looks can be deceiving. Final stop on yelp beer tour. Small pole barn type shed and outdoor picnic tables. I absolutely loved their Cream Ale and Kolsch and filled my growlers. We took a tour and this place is empty and a blank slate. They have plans for construction of a new taproom and is a true co-op were members get free growler fills each month and other perks. If I lived closer, I would probably do this. Super friendly and dogs are welcome. This place is wanting me to come back for more in 6 months or so to see the new taproom. The first time I had a Broken Clock beer was at a Twin Cities beer festival last summer. I tried their coffee kölsch and it quickly became one of my favorite beers. I recently ventured to the North Minneapolis taproom to reunite my senses with that coffee kölsch and enjoy the company of some good friends. It's sort of a winding path to get to the location, but trust in Google Maps and you will find it. When you walk into the taproom, it's a very communal area, a reflection of the values on which the brewery was opened. When my friends and I were waiting in line to order beers, we noticed that the bartenders were on a first-name basis with many of the patrons. It felt a little bit like Cheers! I sampled a few different beers that were on tap and the coffee kölsch is still my favorite with the lavender uprising closely behind. Now, I'm eagerly awaiting the release of the Law and Porter with chiles. read more

Not going to lie, I threw a bit of a fit when E told me we were going here. For starters, we missed the correct bus stop and had to get off at the next one, which resulted in a longer walk in the hot sun. Then, as we approached it, I really wasn't quite sure what to think, as from the outside it pretty much looks like a shed with some outdoor seating. But one of my most favorite past co-workers now does some part-time brewing and bartending here, so I was pretty stoked to see him, sample what they were offering on tap, and stay a while. Three hours after I huffed about coming here we were still sitting outside drinking beers, and I decided that if we didn't do any other breweries that day, it would be just fine by me! All the brews on tap were extremely delicious - they had a Kolsch, Coffee Kolsch, Hefeweizen, Red Ale, New England IPA and Lavender IPA. After the sampler, I decided the Coffee Kolsch was 100% my favorite. You wouldn't think coffee would naturally go well in a light beer, but they make it work really well here! Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the laid-back vibe of this place. The rules are a bit weird - because of the permit they have, they can't sell you a pint, but they can sell you growlers to either consume off-premises or enjoy there! However, they are building out a connected tap room that we got a sneak peek of, and it will add so much more space and more normal liquor practices to this brewery co-op! We will have to make a trip back to MN to test it out :) Overall, we just loved this place. It's laid-back, dog-friendly vibe and delicious beer would certainly have us be regulars if it were closer to us! read more

I honestly can't wait until the taproom is open! Full disclosure: I'm a member of the co-op, have been for a couple years, and I love it. I get a free growler fill every month, get to vote on special release and seasonal brews (with free tasters of all, of course!) and I can often be found pouring flights and pints in the tasting room. They are dog friendly, have live music fairly often, and have plenty of outdoor seating and umbrellas. And once the taproom opens (soft launch in August?) they'll a few thousand more square feet of awesome. read more

My wife and I went to check out BCBC in April of 2018, and we were fully signed up to be members before we left. It's a great atmosphere with great people looking to have a great time while making some great beer. The flagship brew has to be the Minute Man IPA, but for the most part, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I personally don't love kolschs, but the 2Brew Coffee Kolsch is a very solid variant. The taproom had it's Grand Opening at the end of October, and so far it's been packed any time I've swung down for a beer. Give it a try, and I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more

Hidden in an industrial park, this was a surprise gem. I never heard of them before and every beer made me more of a fan. I loved the beers and the feel of the place so much I became a member. It's a Cooperative so you can buy a memembership with better perks than others in the Cities. Large seating area and bands play from time to time. read more

Stopped by on opening night to try out their beer; unique choices and overall not bad beer. I chose the Lavender IPA, not much for lavender notes, but an easy drinking beer! They are also dog friendly, so that was a nice option with their unique outdoor seating area! As for a co-op type of brewery, I think they have a good start! read more

I came to a chili cook off with my daughter who was home visiting from Thailand, and my son-in-law (who is a member).His wife, our other daughter was a contestant in the cook off. Although a little cool weather wise, it was good chili and some great beer. A wonderful pairing. I especially liked the coffee kolsch. We enjoyed samples from the flight that we ordered as well. The wife and I purchased a living social for this place. All the beer was really good. Ended up getting a crowler of the coffee and a growler of the sundial. The only bad part is they can't serve pints due to not having permits to do so. Expect to buy a crowler for $7 and walk outside and drink it. read more

Great start for this brewery. Friendly people, cool location and setting in a heavily industrial setting which is right up my ally. Beer is pretty darn good with one of the better stout offerings in the cities. I'm making this one of my regular stops. read more
