However, I had a really fun and fabulous time last weekend on the Harpeth River with a group of friends. This city girl can get down with nature...for just a few hours at least. I sincerely appreciated the options that vary from just 1 hour on the river on upwards to 12 hours for the advanced river rat. We opted for the 3.5 hour adventure and it was the perfect amount of water, beer, and paddling for this broad. I don't think that I'll ever be interested in the option of "on-site primitive camping or camping along the river bank." Call me a wimp, but a Heavenly Bed at the Westin sounds more my speed! Pricing is based per canoe and kayak and when we mentioned an "Internet Special" we enjoyed $10 off the price of a rental. For an afternoon of fun for 2 cost us around $45 which included the rental of the canoe, paddles, life preserves, and seat cushions. The staff was friendly and dropped us off at the docking point and helped us get into our canoes. The river was a fun and relaxing way to enjoy the weather and when I was feeling especially sporty, I put my jiggly arms to work by paddling like a mad-woman. I would imagine that this is the secret workout for Jennifer Anniston + Michelle Obama...how else would they get such sculpted biceps.? Just sayin. The rules of the river prohibit booze but I can assure you that our group were not the only ones that smuggled a case of PBR in our coolers + vodka in water bottles. The staff doesn't check coolers + backpacks so you can certainly bring your booze along with sandwiches, fruit, and Sun Chips of course! You can take the city out of the girl but NOT the vodka. TIP: Pets are also welcome. Chico + Bellini are totally going to be 2nd mates on the next outing!

This is not for newbies that want the fancy dive environment and the "treatment". You put your own dive gear on. You enter "old school" off the side of the boat backwards. Our…read morefamily purchased a slip here at the Yacht Club a long time ago with dreams of having said big ass boat. And although we haven't gotten there just yet (it's rented out to another boat owner), we do enjoy the Yacht Club while out on our friend's house boat. Commodore offers a dual launch ramp with restrooms, fueling station, travel lift, gated docs and on-site security. But what we really love is the party dock. This fall, we'll hold my rehearsal dinner on this dock for about 70 guests. It's rustic, with picnic tables, white lights and such. But we think it's going to be perfect. Commodore Yacht Club is for members only (with the exception of the availability of short term slip usage for big boats just passing through). Check out their website for more info.

He met us right on time, and took us out to the helicopter for our ride. We were able to request the areas we wanted to see by air, and loved the experience. I highly recommend Helistar Aviation for a scenic flight in the Nashville area. It is a great way to get a good view of the many sights in the area, and to have a fun adventure in the process. It's also great that they are based at the John C. Tune Airport rather than Nashville International, so you get the benefit of flying around Nashville without having to deal with the extra traffic (in the air and on the ground) if you were to fly out of Nashville International. Helistar Aviation also offers flight training if you're interested in learning to fly a helicopter yourself.

I'm sorry to share a negative review of Signature Transportation. We booked them for our 200-guest…read morewedding based on our venue's recommendation, and it turned into a disaster. The booking process was frustrating; it was hard to reach Molly Griggs, and after several conversations, we reserved one mini XL (50 people) and one super coach (57 people). We confirmed a detailed schedule multiple times well in advance, including specific pick-up and drop-off times. On the wedding day, while I was getting ready for our 5 PM ceremony, I learned that our guests from Harpeth were on the wrong bus and at the wrong venue. This was incredibly stressful, as these guests were key family members, including the groom's uncle who was reading during the ceremony. Our ceremony was delayed as they rushed to arrive. After an investigation, it became clear that Signature Transportation had forgotten to pick up our Harpeth guests. The guests were in the lobby at 3:50 ready for a 4:00 pick up. Signature was no where to be found, but a grayline super coach was there. Our guests got on that bus, as they figured it was for our wedding. Signature arrived at Harpeth hotel at 4:17 pm (cameras at Harpeth have evidence) and only picked up 1 person, as 25 of our guests were on the other wrong bus. Dana tried to say there wasn't a specific time in the contract to pick up the Harpeth guests, but the trip manifest clearly states the bus arrival was earlier at Hilton to allow enough time to grab Harpeth guests for a drop off at the venue by 4:30pm. The stops are clearly stated and shown in the trip manifest. I spoke with both Molly Griggs and Dana Taft, the manager. We received a partial refund, but it didn't reflect the stress caused on our wedding day. Dana stated that "feelings" weren't part of the contract, which felt dismissive. The service was not fulfilled per our contract, but Dana disagreed with that statement. I hope no one else has to experience this. Despite our clear communication with Signature, they failed us. I recommend looking for a more reliable transportation company, as planning a big 200 out-of-state wedding is stressful enough.

They are just north of Nashville TN, which is about a three day drive from our home state. The owner, John, and his son, Cullin, made us feel welcome and did not pressure us to hurry with our many questions. They fed us lunch as well--several different days, since we were there three times before we bought our bus. They were helpful and up-front about every bus we were interested in, including supplying an inspection sheet of needed work and test driving several. They did try to make sure we understood what we were getting into if we purchased an older used bus because they do need ongoing upkeep. My husband has been a semi truck owner/operator in the past so that is helpful. We purchased our 1989 Prevost Marathon XL coach in late April 2016 and had them do some needed work for us before we let the lot. Their mechanics spent time with my husband making sure he understood what work they were doing and allowed him to see everything being done. They went out of their way to help us get everything ready to head down the road. The office staff were so friendly and did a great job with the paperwork and permits. They even assisted to get the previous owner's manuals and service records shipped in for us. They referred us to several business so we could purchase a car trailer to tow behind. We left their business feeling like we have friends there now and that we can call to ask questions if the need arises. They are professional in all they do. Foggy Bottoms is a super cute spot with tons of charm and very friendly staff. We arrived to check in (no reservation) at 10:30am and the staff gave us a very honest warning that water levels were SUPER low. They explained the pain points of canoeing in such low water levels very thoroughly, but despite the warnings, we decided to give a go and I'm so glad we did! Because of the staffs transparency, we knew what to expect and we were prepared to encounter a few spots along the way that gave us a little trouble. All in all, it wasn't bad at all! We spent 6 hours on this 3 hour ride making tons of stops along the way to float in the inter tubes we brought along with us. Had such a great time and can't wait to come back!

I've camped with them and kayaked and it's a great experience all around! Plenty of parking, then they shuttle you to the starting point of the river. Once they get your boat into the water you make your way back and it's just such a gorgeous way to spend a summer or fall day! Pack a lunch and paddle away! Staff is kind. Fellow canoe-ers and kayak-ers are fun to talk to along the way. I think my only complaint would be that many large groups go and sometimes just sit in the middle of the river in a clump and it can be difficult to get around them. That however, is not Foggy Bottoms fault. If you are looking to get outside and do something active I highly recommend you use FB. They are convenient and a great way to spend your day.
