I love this little market area. Free entertainment from R&B to rap, to neo soul. All good artists that get you moving and grooving. Food vendors are good to decent. Many varieties. Jamaican, Spanish, desserts, Philippino, Southern, seafood, and many more. Prices are a bit above the average due to the economy and it being a competitive market. Lots to choose from, a few stands, a few trucks. A great overall vibe, though I prefer the Yankee stadium location over Fordham. Great people at both locations. Nothing bad to report. I popped out for the Bronx Night Market, and they showed out! Although they promote having over 40+ Vendors, it was really about 20. It was the same vendors as the uptown night market give or take, but the vibe was a little different. Harlem had a few soul food vendors/trucks while the Bronx had Mexican & Spanish food vendors out. I have to pop out to the Queens Night Market to see what they got going on. The weather was great, the music was rocking, and the food was on point. I like these little food festivals. I can't believe this is my first time passing by, but I'll definitely be in attendance for all future events. I've been missing out, and that makes me sad. First off, this ain't a night market if you're only open from 1-7pm. It's still light out. There was probably only 20 food vendors unlike the 40+ advertised. When we got there they were doing the Cupid shuffle so at least the put the effort of having some sort of entertainment system. There wasn't really a lot of seating area and it was directly in the hot sun so it was kinda terrible trying to walk around to get food. Most of the food I didn't really like. The arepa sandwich we got from the arepa truck was really dry and lackluster. Maybe we should've got the plain one. Maybe it would've been better. Cause the meat one was not great. We got empanadas that were just okay. The Mac and cheese place was very dry and bland. Their banana pudding wasn't good either. $8 for each. We got some potato balls from the churro stand. Those were pretty good. And I got a hot dog from the churro stand. It was odd. But not terrible. The potato sticks on top are unneeded tho. We also got a bbq sausage from the sausage vender. A lil too much bbq sauce but overall good. We also got mochi cookies from The Boiis. They were mostly not good and non of the flavors really tasted different from each other except for the matcha one. The rest all just tasted like a regular doughy vanilla. There was a tea place that had $5 teas and you could get $3 refills. They were good and very refreshing in the hot sun. If you haven't been to Fordham, then The Bronx Night Market should be on your list of places to visit. Wait.....I don't mean come to Fordham and stroll amongst the mixed bag crowd...I mean come visit The Bronx Night Market with about 30+ (maybe more?) Bronx restaurant/vendors showcasing their goods. I remember well when this plaza got filled up with kiosks selling inexpensive what-have-you back in the day. But Night Market was so badly needed!!! When I heard about The Bronx Night Market back in 2018 from my friend Jason M., I wanted to jump on the bandwagon too and see The BX's well-known and only bustling Food market. It's filled with stalls selling all sorts of eats, Body Oils, Custom Jewelry and a few other things from almost all over the borough- (there was one NJ vendor though). Maybe it was towards the tail end of their season, but I had my sights on Mott Haven's Empanology- but they didn't participate the Saturday night we visited- I'll catch up to them in their restaurant. You'll find lots of vendors serving it up with a little bit of everything. Night Market has the Jerk spot, the Korean spot with Twisted Potato, Tacos and more- even a Vegan Bakery!!! Plus a table selling 'Bronx Night Market' merchandise which I picked up a $20 logo T-shirt. I'm digging what the Bronx Night Market founders created! So if your destination is to only come to Fordham- for The Botanical Garden and The Bronx Zoo, try also coming to Bronx Night Market between May-October on any given Saturday to have a chill time. After church dines at the @bronxnightmarket fall harvest festival today. So I'm gonna start with the Lobster Tots from @cousinsmainelobster. They used the claws and it was so succulent and juicy and the tots that nice crisp to them but I think what really did it up was the sauce they put on top of it all. After that was dessert time with some creamy smooth Bailey's Sweet Potato Pies from @trispies. The facts that u taste the bailey's cream in the pie but it doesn't overpower the sweet potatoes was a perfect blend. We picked up some delicious lemon and s'mores cookies from @ronnycupcakes a local at home bx baker. My sister ate the lemon cookies (I dont like lemon desserts lol). That marshmallow in that s'mores cookies so gooey and tastey. Now I've been seeing these cookies all over my IG and I finally got them @bakedincolor I got the rainbow chocolate chip cookies and the rainbow brookie (saving those for tomorrow.) Now u know I couldn't go there and not get food to take home. 1st spot was to the @nycmactruck. When I saw the truck my first shout out was "THEY FROM COMICCON" lol so u know I had to get the Bacon Mac n Cheese. The Bronx night market was smaller than I expected but still a good time. We drove up from Brooklyn and paid $5 to park in the nearby lot. Lots of vendors were out and lined up on both sides. Right away we purchased some incense and bead bracelets and then tried the cupcakes which were delicious. We got the red velvet, strawberry cheesecake, chocolate pudding with pudding filling, and the vanilla cinnamon. Both were absolutely delicious. They had music playing throughout the day with a fantastic DJ to introduce upcoming artists and warm up the crowd. Been wanting to try the market and finally went this weekend. It was outdoor so that was good. They had food vendors and also other businesses. There was also music and a small seating area. I did like that there was a little bit of everything but I do wish there were more food vendors. Overall it was a great experience and I will be back. Hopefully I can try new food vendors next time. I tried the fried dog, I ordered the half and half ( half corn dog, half filled with mozzarella), also tried lechón with rice from filipino food truck, and finally Peruvian arroz chaufa. The Bronx Night Market is not your ordinary weekend market. This is not just a farmers market with fruit and vegetables. They might have some of that. And it is not just a market with clothing, lotions, or items for your home. They will also have some of this. What they are known for is the food. That is very special. They originally opened 4 years ago. That is what was planned. The location was perfect here in Fordham Plaza just on the corner opposite Fordham University. That is ideal. The school is large and there are many students there. The community is large as well. This is not a small community. It is the area of The Bronx here in New York. That is large. But the people who visit can be from other areas as well. Right now they have over 20 food booths available to choose from. When first opened a few years ago there were more booths and people who would be there. But times have changed. The plan is to still have visitors attend and enjoy what is available, but catution is taken. We each get a brief testing as we prepare to go in. You can then visit the area and, if you order something to have for lunch, you can receive the meal and take it outside the area to the seats next to that and then eat. It is a smart thing to do at this time. Yet, while you are in the area you can see so much available for you to consider and enjoy. Once you are in the area it is time to enjoy what is available. There is much to consider. And this is not just one item from one region. Instead, this is a meal from various parts of the world. All is different, and all is originally. This is a meal that is like you have crossed the area and have decided to take your meal in the Caribbean, in Asia, In Spain, in the midWest, or even in Germany. Everything here is original to the region. And everything is unique. Nothing is to taste as if it is American in taste or design. Instead this will taste the way it is authentically made as if you crossed over to another country. There is a flavor and design that is special. It is cut the way it is over there. It has the spice and flavor from another place. It even has the area as if you were in another country. This meal is wonderful to know it is made as if you have stepped into the home of someone in another region who has invited you in to have lunch. One of the best connections here is that the owners of each booth that is making the meal for you is from those specific regions. There are people making a meal from Spain that come from that area. The chefs cooking the meal as if you are in the middle of Hamburg or Berlin are actually from there and making a meal for you. The cooks with the Asian meal are from the area and create a meal that tastes as if you were over there. That is one of the special directions in the Bronx Night Market. The chefs and owners are from the local community in the Bronx. This is where they live and where they cook. It is as if you did step into their home to enjoy their company. You can spend your time talking to them as they discuss the meal you shall have. The cooks and their members speak their special languages. There is Caribbean. Spanish, French. Italian. German and Asian. The people are friendly. And the meals are fresh, tasteful, spiced just right, and gives you a chance to eat a meal you will truly enjoy. The Bronx Night Market is in the right location. Again being near Fordham University you meet a variety of students, residents and individuals. Everyone is here to learn and talk with each other. Speaking with the owners I heard about where they had been and where they hoped to go. By the end of the summer in 2021 they hope to expand the area to include up to almost 75 different booths for various vendors from products to food. They also have students from the university who do work and participate to help the area grow and expand for other individuals who do attend. The hope is that for 2022 it will open bigger and everyone will be able to visit once more. It is hopeful then, but right now it is wonderful as well. There are many local vendors to visit. Big markets to visit. Traditional offerings from different cultures and individuals. Bronx Night Market is a special place to visit. There are a variety of booths and vendors to select from. Prices are very reasonable no matter which one you visit. They are all reasonable for you to consider. You might think of it as a regular outdoor market for the weekend. But once you step through the gate and start to smell the aromas in the air you know you are in the place you have been waiting for. This is the place where everything, and everyone is waiting for you. The choices are there. The people are friendly. It is truly a great place to be at this time, and in the time to come. I have not been to the Boogie Down Bronx in YEARS, and the Bronx Night Market was a great way for me to sample what's new and popular with the locals. The menu options were pretty good and varied from finger foods to entrees, drinks, and desserts. I definitely jammed while exciting my palette with bold flavors from countries that I have never tried like Belize. Delicious! Thankfully, there is a seated area to keep customers close by for reordering. Although there are non-food vendors on-site, the crowds are there for the food. Lots of food, entertainment, and fun! Definitely roll out with a side kick, so you can share and sample food from a few vendors. There are many options, and lots of delicious choices at the Bronx Night Market. There are a good number of vendors and a variety of flavors from many countries. There's the Hungarican, which offers Hungarian standards, as well as Puerto Rican yumminess, like pastelon. Shark and bake was the first thing to catch my eye, and the price was right. Of course burgers were present, and the Bronx Burger Co. had a delicious bacon maple burger that was very tasty. The line for the Jamaican food truck was ridiculously long, so next time, I suppose. Say now, what have we here? An outdoor food market in the Bronx? Featuring local vendors? Oh my! When I first heard of Bronx Night Market I was initially shook - typically in NYC you will only find things like this in Manhattan, Brooklyn, or Queens. That being said, I was really excited to explore the market and see what they put out. BNM is really one of the first of its kind in the borough, and is currently being held the last Saturday of the month from now until October. How did this come about? I'm not too sure, but personally I feel it's the result of both the increased culinary options in the Bronx and the increased attention that the borough has received as a whole over the past few years. Whatever the reason, it's nice to see something like this pop up in my borough. The market is located in Fordham Plaza. Geographically this makes the most sense - the Fordham neighborhood really serves as the bridge between the Eastern and Western sections of the Bronx so it's easily accessible to most. In terms of vendors, they had a decent selection, but really that's my biggest critique of the market. I recognized a number of restaurants that came out, but felt there could have been more. In their defense, this is only the second happening of BNM, so hopefully as time goes on more vendors will join the mix. Overall, Bronx Night Market gets an A for effort. I really applaud the organizers for starting something like this - it's a step in the right direction and hopefully only gets better from here. More vendors and more variety are things that will make me want to come back - so hopefully we'll see that. This experience is a must. So book a time slot ahead,wear a mask, get your temperature checked at the gate, and welcome to the outdoor event of the fall that you have been waiting on. The chicken and waffle was the best as it brought a unique and tasty experience. The "lobstah" roll was a must try. The empanadas filled me up before I could try the tacos, fried ice cream, or other food. There are places to sit outside the market but expect less social distance then you may be comfortable with in the sitting section because it is a popular public space. A cheap Parking lot was only a block away. This was a perfect spot to meet a friend. They also sold jewelry and skincare products so it is not just about food. Some places accepted card but I would say bring cash so you can keep track of how much you spent. Protip: If you split things with a friend you can try more food. read more

While a bit small (it's about one plazas worth with I think like 20(?) vendors, the food is very well priced, tastes good, and they have a stage that sometimes have singers come and sing. We went in the winter so it was a bit cold out, and while they do offer some heat lamps and tables, sticking by them the whole time to eat wasn't the best experience. My favorite item was the Mozzarepa from one of the stands, it was an arepa with a bunch of cheese in the middle and some meat. You can see from all my pictures I posted, that this lil Night Out is so good for the Bronx. I've known about this since last year but never bothered to go check it out. Then I got a notice from Yelp, and so I began my adventures. I decided to go by myself to check it out because I didn't know what to expect. I needed to make a run to Old Navy that is on Fordham Road and is not listed on Yelp, (don't know why that is) but anyway decided to go check out the festival. Its a hit Yelpers! Oh my, there were all kinds of different venues. Its funny though that not alot of them were located in the BX., that being said it still was alot happening here. They had music playing, they had many variety of food options, they had sweet treats, they had different drinks and even accessories, from jewelry, to T-shirts, and skin care. It was nice to see that every one there was just enjoying the beautiful weather and nice vibes happening in the area. I saw families just sitting around lounging, (They had some tables and benches to sit at) eating their food or just talking and enjoying the music. Some people were getting up from their tables to dance to the good music they had playing for the event. It was just all good times happening on a nice summer night in The Bronx. If your in the area, or are a native of the Bx, I definitely say for you to go check it out. This was a nice night out for my family . We watched people dance,smile big and eat good. Prices were fair for the portions . The vendors friendly and the area pretty clean for the traffic flow of people. They have a nice port-a-potty I'm case you need it . It costs 25 cents ,but it's clean (auto-cleans after each person) . There is a few bistro tables and walls to sit on all around the area. There was a DJ & live singers tonight . Around 40 vendors with food or merchandise. Food: 1st we decided on Carter's Chips . We went with the fish shaped pot pies (chicken or Grass-fed beef) and fries $7.00 and one extra fish pie for 3bucks. They were pretty good ,but I wish they filled them a little more . He said the fries were the same as In and Out Burger. Smoked Mac n cheese (5) from a southern spot (forgot name ) it was thick and delicious. They also sold jerk chicken . Watermelon & Mango fresh drinks served in light bulb glasses. They were so good. They have four flavors and each 5 bucks . They do take cards here :) Sam's Fried Icecream ! A 100% winner for me . Crispy crunchy ball of love ! I could eat 1000's of them. They batter the ball of frozen icecream (8 flavors) and dip, roll & fry it infront of you. 7 bucks each . I visited the Bx Night Market when visiting the Bronx Botanical Gardens for the Singapore Orchid Show. I'm not sure if that's it's usual location but we I went there were three stalls near the Gift Shop. There were not a lot of options for vegetarians unfortunately otherwise I typically enjoy food stalls concept. I was hungry so I did end up trying the Tofu Bao at CBAO which was incredibly delicious!! The Bao sandwich was very fresh and their sauce/seasoning was flavorful as well. read more

Came on the last weekend so I may have missed many restaurants and must try items. Alot of the vendors seemed like vendors I normally find going down for Fordham road any other day. Also by the time I arrived (5pm) many items were sold out . The DJ had all the 90s and 00s jams playing and everyone seemed in good spirits despite the lines and cold winds. At arrival your temperature is checked and human tragic is monitored s for social distancing. Great vendors selection. They had Mexican, German, Jamaican, Japanese & Argentinian vendors. I would definitely recommend trying the Argentinian porchetta sandwich and Fresca juice as well as the Japanese kebabs. I am a Long Islander but my friend is a Bronx native. She wanted to introduce us to a festival with amazing food she said. So I was interested. Parking was a little difficult but I found a spot around the corner. They had a lot of food options which was cool. They had light bulbs with juice in them. They had jamaican, spanish, american, asian and other foods that all looked so damn good. I had the mozzarepa with pernil which was out of this world. My friend ordered the mango jerk chicken which was so flavorful and worth the money. They had many pastries and ice cream for sale which was perfect for my pregnant self. I went to the Harvest Festival hosted this weekend. The atmosphere is so inviting! Lots to try from starting at $3! There is food, jewelry, soaps, hot seasonal drinks and a bar!! The music mostly Carribean for the time I was there but all different cultures were dancing.. no real dance floor but u dance on line or at your table. I tried the sweet potato pie, henny cakes, codfish balls, German hot chocolate, pernil arepa and the list goes on. The vendors were friendly and the space was not crowded like it is at Smorgasbord in Bk. The time was not spent on lines but chatting with vendors, family and friends. I wish I went in the summer bc it was a bit chilly, there is a heated tent but no sides so still cool. I look forward to more events like these. read more

I've been getting so many recommendations and I finally was able give it a try..and I wasn't disappointed!! They have a great selection of local vendors and I was excited to sample a few. I had the Jibarito Shack, super tasty the chopped cheese was perfect! We tried Twister Cake the Cake was warm with the cold ice cream it was perfect. I also had one of the best hands down ceviches ever at Don Ceviche perfect amount of citrus and loaded with all types of seafood!! Highly recommend!
