    Chicharron de Pollo

The service is great! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. There is a lot of seating. This place would be good for groups. I ordered from the happy hour menus. I got a passion fruit sangria, chicharron de pollo, and loaded nachos. The passion fruit sangria was really good! I would definitely recommend that and order it again. The nachos have potential but they were cold. The meat was cold and the cheese was already hardened when they brought it out. It seemed as though this was sitting in the kitchen for a while before being brought out. More jalapeños can be added to the dish. It is big enough to share with someone else. The chicharron de pollo was good but you could taste the oil throughout. After a while, it was too much of an oil taste for me. The yuca fries tasted mainly like oil. I did not enjoy them and I would not order them again. I plan to give this spot another try but I will most likely stay away from ordering the fried items next time. There was a sax player that was amazing while I was there. I would return to hear him play again. His IG handle is @thesaxguy_

I visit NY a few times per year and learned about it this place last year. The food is good and the vibes are even better . On the weekend there is usually a DJ. It can get crowded in the evening. I have had the snapper and Brazino fish. The snapper is my favorite . If you're looking for good food and a good time this is the place.

The pre fixed meal comes with appetizers. I had the prime ribeye and mashed potatoes, I asked for the steak well done. It was seasoned well. The Paella sangria served with Spanish rice & fresh seafood and The Pollo Al mojo served with rice black beans. The dishes from prefixed meals were enough to share. The Big Apple drink was good. Be prepared to pay gratuities and tip on drinks Our server was polite and accommodating. The music was loud but expected. The prices were reasonable for the amount of food offered I'd recommend this place

This place has good food overall. Although, I prefer their brunch. The nights I have been there's a DJ who plays great music and gets the crowd going.

enjoyed the food and brunch vibe. I mentioned a birthday while visiting, and although nothing special was done. Both entrees could have been better . . still had a good experience overall.

This was my second time dining at Sangria. The first time while pregnant and the second time 2 months postpartum. Both times, I ordered the shrimp scampi and my husband the lomo saltado. My first experience was phenomenal because the food tasted amazing! The flavor profile was perfect, which is why we ordered the same food, although the menu offers plenty of options. However, the food did NOT taste good the second time around. It lacked seasoning, which is why I did not rate it 5 stars. There may be a lack of consistency. Sangria Flight - it was nice to have the option to taste multiple flavors. I ordered the passion fruit, mango, coconut, and tamarindo. My favorite were the mango and coconut sangria. The pork chunks (chicharron) was delicious and a must order to share. My son had mozzarella and fries, he enjoyed it. The staff are always amazing and make you feel important. Ambience - great music to dance to while you're eating! Nice romantic lighting if you're sitting indoors. You can still hear the music if you're sitting outdoors because they have an open concept.

So, I decided I wanted to have a girls night out. I didn't want to go into the City and I also didn't want to have to worry about parking. I been here a few years ago for happy hour and it was great. I decided to see how Saturday night would be. I was greeted by a security check at the front door. Which was appropriate because this place is more of a lounge environment. The crowd is an older group and they play older music from the 90's early 2000's. The drinks were great not to strong. The food was good. I ordered chicken wings and a salad and two drinks. My bills was came up to a little over $60 which was about average in my opinion.

This was DoorDash, so keep this in mind. Delivery took FOREVER, so that could have affected the food. Also, I was working, so I was intermittently trying to stuff my mouth while completing documentation, meetings, and other tasks. I got several types of empanadas. Shredded chicken, cheese, shredded beef, pollo. My pollo mechado (chicken and cheese) and carne mechada/queso (shredded beef and cheese) were cancelled, as they were out of stock. I also got the club house pollo, which was disappointing, but that might have been affected by the fact it was delivered rather than consumed in-house. Made with grilled chicken, egg, bacon, cheese, ham, and accompanied by French fries, the sandwich fell flat for me. Pretty sure it would have been better hot and fresh, so I wouldn't deter anyone from trying it. But it could have used some seasoning. People rave about this Venezuelan place, so by all means try it . . . they have breakfast platters and sandwiches (mostly various combos of bacon, egg, cheese, ham), arepas, Venezuelan hotdogs. Other hot sandwiches like the Cubano and Philly cheese steak (but let's be honest--your corner bodega is better). Multiple types of burritos and other Venezuelan fast foods. Again . . . please try this place, especially in person. My food was delivered and took a long time, which again, isn't optimal. I'm not a fan of corn casings, which is a preference thing and a *redacted word that rhymes with bingo* thing, I am so embarrassed I can't make myself love corn tortillas and empanadas. And the mood was off, I was working. The empanadas, regardless taking so long, were delivered HOT! From what I read, the brick and mortar restaurant is clean, calm, and enjoyable, and they have a huge variety of Venezuelan dishes. Don't listen to me, and give it a try yourself, especially in person, not by delivery!

You couldn't tell me that I wasn't at a 4-stars resort in Punta Cana. The brunch was delicious, the presentation was lovely, and the service was warm, semi-attentive (it was packed), and professional. The staff made us feel genuinely welcomed from the moment we arrived. Everything came together to make the experience enjoyable and memorable as I celebrated my 60th birthday. I would recommend Vistamar to anyone looking for a great dining experience and live entertainment on City Island. I look forward to returning and dining outdoors with my Hubby. Lastly, if you're not a fan of Latin music, beware that it was played throughout our entire time spent at Vistamar (loudly if I may add). It was too lively for Abuela seated at the next table, yet the children onsite had a time. Certainly, worthy of an 8/10 stars. We were sat in the outside area but ultimately ended up switching inside due to the cigar smoke. We were seated at a long both ar 6:48 pm and were given the tablet menus. We observed that there is was a happy hour (Monday-Friday 12-7pm) which we were still within time frame for. We were greeted when we sat so when she came back to see if we were ready, we let her know we were wanted to order from the happy hour menu. She said "after seven?", we asked whether to confim that it was still not 7? She replied, no and told us that happy hour was only one drink per guest. We each ordered a drink and had a one order of calamari, sliders, and a dozen and a half of oysters. That was all we got to experience as 8:30pm rolled around and we still had no main course. My stepbrother asked to speak to a manager where we he disclosed our frustrations with the service. A non-black family of 4 came in 20 minutes after us, and not only received appetizers, but main courses as well and were properly attended to. My 9-year-old waited 20 mins for a ginger ale. Table full of empty glasses and plates from appetizers as no one come to clear the table. On said dirty table they placed our silverware. My sister asked the sever 3 times for napkin which still had not been given after the silberware was placed directly on the tableb and we still had to request napkins. All to which the manager offered us two bottles of champagne. Where we had three minors (9, 20, and my 18 year sister who's graduation we were celebrating) my stepfather then spoke to the manager again to no resolve, he paid the bill of the little we had and my sister left in tears. Thanks to this place it ruined my sister's graduation day. I'd never return.
