I was really looking forward to dining here. I took my boyfriend out as a thank-you for an amazing vacation he treated me to, so I wanted the meal to be special. Unfortunately, it was one disappointment after another. We started with the bacalao croquetas ($14), and they were terrible. There was no recognizable bacalao inside, and they didn't taste like cod at all. The best way I can describe them is like eating deep-fried dough with no filling. They were bland, dry, and absolutely not worth the price. I ordered the pollo chicharrón. While it was well seasoned, it was served cold, not hot and fresh like it had just come out of the fryer. My white rice and beans were also only lukewarm. Looking back, I should have sent the entire plate back. To make matters worse, our table was rocking so badly that we had to call the waiter over to fix it before we could even enjoy our meal. My boyfriend ordered the pork chops. They looked great, but after tasting them, they were extremely dry and clearly overcooked, with barbecue sauce covering them. He still ate them, but they were far from impressive. His sweet plantains were also dry and cold, making it seem like they had been sitting under a warmer for quite some time. The final bill came to about $95 for two people, and the food was mediocre at best. Then we were automatically charged an 18% gratuity for a party of two, which was shocking considering the quality of the food and overall experience. Giving a taste test the broccoli was good, not seasoned just steamed and I technically don't eat Salmon so i wouldn't be able to say if it needed more time but it was also good. Now, let me just say i would love to go back and get their shrimp alfredo and add that sweet cabbage to see how that would taste. Sounds a little odd and weird but, I dont know something just told me at that moment u have to try this out one day. If i ever go back you know I'll be giving an update. Overall, this place is beautiful, my Cousin said they'll sometimes have a live band playing not sure when but u can look that up if that's ts your type of vibe. The service was kind, and we loved the spacious places to sit and all the colors. We came during happy hour, so our drinks were $7 which was very nice. The burger was simply a piece of old leather on stale tostones. The eggplant was an actual tomato milkshake like thick obnoxious soup. It's absolutely prepared wrong and extremely unpleasant. The yuca fries were overcooked, stale and dry. The calamari was undercooked, mushy in some parts gummy in others. After 8 years, decided to come back to give this place another try. Came to see how they were during Mother's Day. Service was absolutely ridiculous. Servers have no idea about how to be a server. Made a reservations for 6:30 and didn't get seated til 7:20. Then they seated us is a back room where there was no entertainment as promised. Foldable tables as if we were in a cafeteria setting. Forgot about us and then told us we should have reminded them about us waiting for our food. This restaurant by far is the worst. Should no longer be in service. We had our eye on this place for a while now and finally decided to give it a try. It was around 3pm on a Friday, and there were maybe 2 more couples inside. We waited several minutes to be greeted and then another couple minutes to be seated. All done by the bartender who seemed to be working mostly by herself. Then after several more minutes a server came to greet us in Spanish and decided he wouldn't be able to talk to us in English. He walked away. We had no idea what was going on but still waited. He finally came back to give us water, disappeared maybe 3 more times for several minutes and finally when we saw him again we told him we were ready to order. He took our drink orders and appetizers and walked away before we could give him our entree orders. Eventually, he brought drinks. We tried to tell him we wanted to ask questions about the food but again, gone. We sat long enough to polish off our mango sangrias at a very slow pace before we ever saw an appetizer. The empanadas came first. Basically the size of fried dumplings, but the chicken one and the cheese one were very tasty. The beef wasn't our fave. We sat another 15 min before the wings came. 8 Brazilian style. Very good. Very hot out the fryer. They brought our food eventually and it wasn't quite as described on the menu. I got the sea bass which comes with a sauce that was not brought out. Just dry fish, watery mashed potatoes, and veggies hard enough to hurt my teeth. My husband ordered chicken breast with chimmichuri and beans and rice. His chicken was tough as leather and just as dry. He couldn't eat it. The server came back and offered us dessert. We said no thanks and asked for the check. He asked if we needed a box and we said no thanks. He shrugged and closed us out. $150 total. We didn't enjoy any of the experience. I came here on a whim because I was hungry and happened to be in the area. The service here was really great! Our server was friendly, patient, and accommodating. After searching everywhere last minute for a place to celebrate my parents 45th anniversary, they had availability for 7pm on a Saturday night on their website, automatically rsvpd. What a great selection of Latin fusion food from empanadas to ceviche, mofongo, churrasco, and a variety of cocktails galore. Must say Emelin D. our server was spot on with her customer service. So disappointed and was rooting for this restaurant since I recently just moved near by. Ordered just the lomo saltado to pick up. Whatever I was given was not worth $30 or resemble the dish besides the stale French fries thrown on top. I was given pieces of 80% fat and the rest of the meat took forever to chew. The sauce was pretty much just oil that the French fries soaked up. I had made it a point that I wanted extra green sauce on the side and was given a container of basically olive oil. I drove from Brooklyn to Dia Y Noche for a dinner date. I saw how favorable the reviews were on Yelp of course. 50 minutes later I was welcomed to two hostess that were masked and very polite. My date didn't arrive on time, but I didn't want to stand in the cold so she gave me a table and told me how pretty I looked. That's a first and I was blushing behind my mask. They had a live band and they had a distance policy for each table. It was a great table, but once my guest arrive we couldn't hear over the music. Our friend got the Churrasco steak entree. The ceviche needed more acidity it was the most dry Cevichi I've ever had and I love me some Cevichi. The garlic shrimp has the consistency of a Chinese food restaurant not impressed. The Cuban sandwich was not pressed and was the worst Cuban I've ever eaten and this is my favorite pressed sandwich. I noticed some reviews seemed quite disappointed with the servers but all I saw were hard working people providing good service. They were well seasoned and the chicken filling consistency was whipped like frosting. - and the Gambas al ajillo (shrimp in garlic sauce). Sauce was great with fresh bread. Served in a lil pot. The rub: shrimp, scallops, lobster, white fishes and seafood in general have to be VERY fresh. These shrimp were not. They still had a bit of a snap left with a bit of an ammoniated after taste. Sign of not being as fresh as they need to be. I ate them. At this level "freshness" they won't get you sick, but they were at the limit.
