Many years ago I purchased a washer/dryer from Brook Valley....a few days ago I needed to replace my dryer but decided to get a new matching washer to go with it.. Scott at Brook Valley was excellent!! He answered all my questions, pointed out a great sale going on. I took advantage of the sale and knew my order for delivery would be in a few days...would not go anywhere else. The company is located in Manchester, VT and most people might be hesitant to shop is such a beautiful town (prices might be high.) absolutely untrue!!!! We had Brook Valley outfit our entire kitchen plus a washer/dryer about 5 years ago. Our Sub-Zero has had a few issues with the icemaker and they have always promptly dispatched a crew to fix the problems. We are purchasing an ice machine which will require plumbing for water intake and connection to a drain. Ken was very clear they no longer do those types of installations, so the problems some reviews highlighted about installation from several years ago are clearly "lessons learned". We will continue to go to them for our appliance needs and can heartily recommend them. read more

Wanted to support local on this but: out of town and family member watching our house. Family member comes down to the kitchen in the morning, looks out the window and is shocked to see two men standing on our deck measuring our hot tub cover. No phone call, no email, no knock on the door. They simply let themselves into our very gated yard. Called the manager, made excuses and made no real effort to make things right. Always support using local services but will NEVER consider this place again. Absolutely shocked and alarmed that this is how a business can operate. Family member was scared out of thier mind while employees of this place practically trespassed on our property. read more

I've only had great experiences at Brook Valley. I bought a home in Windham county and needed some things. My first visit I bought a hot tub and fridge from Ken Ax. Great sales guy, arranged delivery 2 days later, everything installed and no problems. His guys even came out and filled hot tub, leveled the ground for it, fired it up and I was in it right away. Having had that awesome experience after dropping 10K I knew I couldn't go elsewhere. Went back last week for a washer, dryer and BBQ. All came assembled and ready to go. Guys hooked it all up and they were gone within an hour. I see some reviews about an outside delivery service? Not sure if true or changed but the hot tub guys who came were working at the actual store when I was shopping and the other guys came in a Brook Valley vehicle and had brook valley appliance shirts on. They've always done a great job with us. About a year and a half ago we got our clothes dryer and washer from them and we've been very happy with both products. After that first purchase, we went back a few months later and got our refrigerator from them as well - also very happy with it. More recently, a few months ago we got our stove/oven range from them and we love it. We even got our basement's dehumidifier from them. They put on a nice display with their showroom (smoke and mirrors) but once you sign on the dotted line and go with them you are just a liability to them going forward. Our salseman was nice but gave a few incorrect specs for the models we were looking at. Wasn't a huge deal but generally I prefer those that say they don't know vs. giving incorrect information. I would give the sales dept 4 stars. The service / customer service department after the purchase was a nightmare. read more

i'm not sure where these other people shopped but i have only had wonderful experiences with Ken and staff at BV. They coord our new kitchen installation with us and contractors for seamless, flawless process. flash forward 8 years and our washing machine had issues. thru no fault of BV, the electrolux something something arms bent - i don't know. doesn't matter. ken worked with us on price and delivery and had our new washer installed quickly. again superior service, friendly, supportive and attentive staff. what more could you ask for? read more

On January 13, 2012 I ordered a 12 cu foot Frigidaire Freezer for $592, incl delivery, for my vacation home at Bromley. It is important to me to support local merchants and I usually receive better customer service vs. the "big box" stores. The freezer was delivered and installed as per my instructions but two days later it malfunctioned and I lost $200 worth of food. I contacted the salesperson and was told that they would be out to fix the freezer the next week. I made several follow up calls and finally had a service tech get out to the house on February 9, 2012. Their best estimate for a repair is on February 14, 2012. They were unwilling to offer any concessions and blame the problem on a "power surge". Of course none of my other appliances have been affected nor have any of my neighbors been affected. When I requested the freezer be replaced (vs. being repaired) they rudely dimissed me and explained that my warranty was a "repair warranty" not a replacement warranty". It was as if they were offended I made the suggestion. Instead discussing ideas to have a satisfied customer they just brushed me aside. In summary, over a month has passed since they took my money. I have had no freezer, lost over $200 worth of food and have had nothing but aggravation. They have made no concessions and have not even seen fit to apologize. In the future I will take my business to Best Buy and take my chances. Update 2/21/12 On Wed 2/15 they came out and serviced the freezer. I was not present. They returned the following day to check on it. My wife spoke to the tech and he assured her all was fine. On Sunday I checked on it and it was not working. I left a message the following day requesting that the freezer be removed and refund my money and to confirm via phone. After receiving no call by Noon on Tuesday, I called them. They said they had received my message and were hoping to remove it later today. I'm not sure why they did not bother to call and let me know. read more

Great sales manager, negligent installation services. Ken Ax is very knowledgeable and provides excellent information about the products he sells. The products themselves are very fine. However, do not use their installation services. Ken gave me a big sales pitch for their installation service for a Miele dishwasher, claiming every customer who used their own plumber had problems. He did not tell me that his installers are unlicensed. So I paid him the significantly higher fee he charges (60% more than my licensed plumber's quote). Turns out the installers (who are very nice and personable gentlemen) are not licensed as plumbers or electricians. They installed a non-GFI circuit directly under my kitchen sink, creating a fire hazard, and violating NEC rules. They also broke the plumbing under my sink. Yes, they went out and bought new parts and installed them without charging me, but they did so negligently, creating in a leak over the non-GFI circuit, creating the very fire hazard the NEC rules are designed to prevent! I won't be doing business with them again. Their negligent installation has forced me to spend more money than my original (licensed) plumber's installation quote to hire a licensed electrician and a licensed plumber to fix the fire hazard and leaking plumbing Ken's crew created. read more

The service we received at Brook Valley was superior - and what we have come to hope for from a real store. On our initial visit, we took well over an hour to learn ALL about the value and functions of very pricey dish washers; and then we left. Several months later we returned to purchase one, and actually purchased an even pricier model. And then we saw such a special refrigerator we could not resist adding it to our purchase, even though we did not need one. The installation team was capable, fast and very willing to please. They also provided one more special service. By noticing a faint spell of gas from our stove, and pointing it out, we were speared a potential disaster. We recently purchased a new dishwasher from Brook Valley Appliances. They had a good selection of better than average appliances to choose from and their inventory was conveniently available for review on their webpage. I phoned in my order and they promptly scheduled an install for a very reasonable fee. The installation was confirmed the night before and their scheduling was flexible and accommodating of my changed schedule. The installation crew was absolutely amazing. I had given up on expecting service like this from any company. Courteous, clean, competent, flexible, professional. All around fantastic. The removal of the old machine and install of the new machine was a bit complicated and they just rolled with it and did a great job. I highly recommend Brook Valley for your next appliance purchase. I will be buying every future appliance from them as needed. I have had too many bad experiences with sub-grade appliances from other sources and pitiful service. In Sept 2008 I bought $7500 worth of appliances at Brook Valley so yes, in 2017 they're 9-yrs-old (even though they weren't put to used before April 2009). I've recently sold my house and wanted to make sure the dishwasher and washing machine were serviced due to water retention in the dishwasher and possibly the need for a new rubber whatever-you-call-it thingie in the washing machine. I also wanted to have the dryer vent cleaned out because a 3-yr-old is moving into the house and I want the house to be as safe as possible. Brook Valley said that my appliances are "too old" for their service people to work on and said they'd turn my name over to an independent appliance repair company. That was more than a month ago. No call, no nothing. Short of it: the appliances have been okay (with the exception of an immediate problem with the dryer) but that's a reflection on the companies that make the machines, not on the company that sells them. The importance of the retailer is the quality of service you get after the purchase. Brook Valley needs to do much better if it ever wants another dime of my business. read more

Brook Valley really went to bat for me when my dishwasher broke down (after the warranty expired - yikes!). I did not expect that the manufacturer would provide any help or compensation for the machine. But surprise! Due to the persistence of the Brook Valley folks, the manufacturer actually replaced the machine for FREE! I have never before heard of a retailer taking such good care of their customers. I think the Brook Valley team is fantastic. read more
