I told Shane from the very beginning that I needed a 20' truck. He said no, a 16' would do because the ceilings are high. Not a very good practice to not listen to a paying customer. The 16' foot truck arrived and because the truck was too small I had to get rid of a bunch of my stuff and it took 2 days because of the extra time it took to load a smaller truck. Daniels moving took advantage of me and I would definitely NOT recommend them. The owner doesn't respect his customers.

I wouldn't let them pack my groceries! Our family moved from FL to VT and between my wife, my brother and myself, we packed a 28' trailer full and everything arrived with no damaged items. We hired Daniel's Moving/NEMM to pack two 28' trailers and in the end, they caused an estimated $4k-$6k worth of damages to our belongings. It's "estimated" because we've yet to receive the final invoice for some of our belongings that are being repaired. In all, the Daniel's Moving/NEMM crew showed up to our house... We told the crew that we rented two 28' trailers and even though we were renting them by the foot, that we had no problem with them using every inch of both trailers, as long as our belongings were safe. They loaded boxes with RED arrows pointing up, upside down. Boxes with 4-6 "FRAGILE" stickers on them were packed on the bottom of stacks with boxes marked "HEAVY" on top. They packed things that we asked them repeatedly NOT to pack. A box with my Mother's ashes in it, along with her fragile electronics (iPhone and MacBook) was loaded upside down and at the bottom of a heavy stack. One crew member injured himself by accepting a bet of another crew member to lift ALL of my wife's weights at the same time, the owner (Fred Allard) called me asking why one of his guys was at the ER and then said that if my wife and I didn't write out statements, that we/our insurance could be liable. After all of this, Fred Allard told us that because we didn't hire them to drive our belongings to next destination, that they are not liable. When I requested that he just file the claim with insurance, he told me that it could take up to 6 months and that it would likely be denied. After a month, I reached out for an update and was told that he had been busy with personal things and that he would file it. A week later we asked for the claim number and that's when he began ignoring us and we haven't heard from him since.

Nate came to clean out our flues. He spent a long time here both inside and on the roof. He checked the chimneys and told us which fireplaces needed cleaning and which ones could wait. Nate meticulously cleaned our wood stove and flue including wiping the stove down on the outside without being asked. He explained things and didn't recommend more than was needed. It was a real professional job.

We couldn't bare to remove it, and knew fixing the leaks would be only temporary and decided to make the significant investment in a full rebuild. We researched many providers and finally found American Waterscapes and couldn't be happier. Notably, there prices were exceptionally transparent on their website and while koi ponds are a major investment, their all in prices seemed far more reasonable than some of their competitors. Their portfolio of work was most aligned with our aesthetic as well. They also had space to fit us quickly in their schedule. What sealed the deal was however, the owner April's knowledge and passion for her craft and answering our endless questions. Her partner and team were all exceptional and professional as well. What most surprised us was how quick it all took. Aside from the initial excavation, April personally spearheaded it all, placing every rock on the spot to best compliment our space. While she warned lawns can of course get in a bit of tatters, we saw very few side affects. The grass that had compressed quickly grew right back up. She was amazing at finding the most beautiful fish based on requests and spend as much time as possible outside watching them and seeing their personalities quickly emerge. We had a few follow up questions she was quick to respond to. The season has escaped us so will hold off until Spring to take many more photos as the plants grow, but in the meantime, wanted to help others considering a Koi Pond, to certainly add American Waterscapes to their shortlist. With a simple need for a cover for an indoor seedling tray, I was happy to find broad selection and get great help by the owner. I have written a few reviews on businesses over the years,mostly restaurants. This business is worth the five stars for a number of reasons. Among them, really great service. One of the owners, Jonathan, was very helpful even though I wasn't there to spend a lot of money. I got the feeling that he treats everyone that way. Also, the big local garden shop nearby, did not have nearly as good of a selection when I went there later to get some outdoor materials. Another reason I like this business is because it is truly locally owned, fully stocked, and totally focused on indoor gardening. I'll go back soon to grow my new hobby. Whether you're new to indoor gardening or have gone all-in, they seem to serve all levels. It is the kind of business local economies need and run by people who deliver what local customers deserve.
