I brought in a sculpture that had broken into several pieces, and Beto did a great job restoring it. Beto was communicative and clearly takes pride in his work. Highly recommend for any repairs or restorations!

Cracks repaired, wing reattached, ornament hook re-inserted, glossy coat of glaze added.

I sheepishly visited Brookes with hopes that the clay Xmas ornament of Santa flying an airplane could be repaired. He is not inherently valuable or exotic and he's been too broken to hang on an Xmas tree for many years but he is the ornament my brothers and I most looked forward to hanging up as kids. Now that I have my own baby daughter I decided to see if I could find anyone willing to try to repair Santa's broken airplane wing and re-insert the ornament hook into his cracked and chipped hat. Beto was gracious and willing to tackle the challenge. He was equal parts kind and skilled and repaired my Santa as though he were a priceless artifact even though every ounce of the value lives only in my heart. Beto is a skilled craftsman and a kind soul. I offer him my highest recommendation to repair your damaged valuables, whatever they may be worth.

We had a large, beloved ceramic statue, which broke when we moved. In addition to being partially shattered , it needed the enamel paint redone as it had faded and peeled from 20 years outside. The care, knowledge and professionalism given to the restoration of our statue was above and beyond our highest hopes!! If you have something valuable that need repair this is THE place!

This is the finished product. Repainted and perfect.

I had an emergency situation where I had to have a figurine restored. It had tremendous sentimental value but wasn't valuable. Abby and Beto did such an amazing job. Better than I would have expected. I could not say enough great things about how patient and helpful Abby was! They made something stressful for me, extremely easy and turned a big worry into a great finished product. Thank you!!

Before

This glass figurine had been broken and stored in a box for years. I visited Brookes' Westlake Village location and they were able to repair it quickly, and for half the $ of what another restoration business had estimated. This wizard figure has great sentimental value to my sweetheart - I'll surprise him with the repair for the holidays. The staff at Brookes did such a great job, plus I learned a lot about glass art from them! Highly recommended for repairs large and small.

I just had a lovely Quezal glass vase restored by Brookes Restorations. I couldn't be happier. The vase looks absolutely beautiful, better than expected. Thank you so much. Worth every penny.

Nothing missing

When we walked into the shop we knew that what they had restored would have cracks and obvious signs of the awful damage that occurred to the plate I've had for 50 years and loved. When it hit a hard wood floor, it was shattered into a few largish pieces AND millions of teensy weensy pieces. Like dust. We couldn't pick up all the teensiest pieces. But what they did was magical. We now have our plate back up on the wall and you would never know anything had happened to it. Really.

Bought a pre-historic artifact in Beirut earlier this year, a small glass vase, and when I arrived with it in LA, it was shattered in several pieces. The person that sold it to me did not properly package it for travel and I was not aware how fragile it was. They did a great job restoring it back to it's original condition and got it to me in just a matter of days.

We purchased in Paris a bowl sculpted by Thiebaut Chague, a sculptor whose work has been shown at many museums in Paris. The bowl was shipped to us and arrived broken with a large hole in its side. The photos attached show the broken bowl and the many pieces of the broken hole. We took the bowl and the broken pieces to Brookes Restorations and asked if the bowl could be repaired. It took about a month for the repair, and Wow! The third photo is the repaired bowl taken with the repaired spot in the middle of the photo. The only way we can identify the repair is looking inside the bowl to see on small area where the glue can be seen. If you need this type of repair, Brookes Restorations will greatly please you.

Damages - cracked nearly in two, with large section pushed out.

Outrageously expensive. Junk shop look and feel - dusty old and sad...it's in a time warp. Slow response. Good place to film a horror movie.

Ask the Community - Brookes Restorations

I have some crystal lamps that were damaged. Crystal repair requires machinery to fix the broken crystal. I was wondering if you do it yourselves at the shop or if it's sent out?

What is the nature of the damage? We restore in house. Probably best to bring the lamps in to our store for inspection and repair options. Regards, Geoff Brookes

This antique store in Downtown Los Angeles is focused on architectural details, like metal grills…read moreand iron work and lights of every known fixture. And a lot of antiquities focused on large scale decoration. One one hand, there are some beautiful pieces. The light fixtures are pretty impressive in their variety of age and style. It seriously gave me the "Damn, I wish I had a big house to decorate." Ultimately, though, that's why this place doesn't quite work for me. There are tons of things to look at, antique barber chairs, long dining tables, stamp dispensers from the 50's and Neo-Classical statuary. Fun eye candy. But the price point for almost everything is for the wealthy homeowner or the professional interior decorator. Even at the Mart Collective in Venice, which is a high end antique mall, had some things that were very reasonable (I bought some beautiful brocade pillows there). Here? Not so much. So, fun to rifle through if you're into antiques, but unless you have some fairly serious cash, not a lot of actual shopping opportunity.

I found a cool vintage ships binnacle that was converted into a lamp that I plan on polishing up and returning to a compass.. prices overall are fair some items can be pretty pricey, but they are in very good condition overall.. I definitely look forward to coming back to this Place soon. If you find an item that you love, but don't have room in your vehicle they do deliver with added cost.

pretty cool place, theres a place similar to this in gettysburg (maryland) and ive since been…read moretrying to find a place similar but here around the LA area, none have really came close but this one was definitely up there. Immediately walking in i was impressed by everything, i was super stoked to find they had bat taxidermy and rabbits feet. Had a lot of cool stuff and prices werent bad at all i had bought two rings which were real silver and a smaller bat hanging upside down in a dome which was all around $180 (?), the bat was $65 which was a really good price for me, someone i went with had gotten a bigger dog faced bat and it was around $160 - $180 which isnt bad. They had a bunch of different taxidermy and stuff, they had octopus tentacles, owl taxidermy, awesome jewelry and some stuff for rituals, they also had a few vintage dolls which were awesome. For the staff id definitely say its opinionated, i understand some of the other reviews of the person working not being super welcoming or even acknowledging them walking in or saying hello or anything, for my experience there definitely wasnt a "Hello" or "let me know if you need help" or anything when i had walked in and the guy working wasnt too talkative, for me personally i didnt mind this and didnt think anything of it, im naturally quiet but can be talkative when someone talks to me but after already socializing a lot in other stores it was a nice quiet breath of air to just roam the store and not have to interact with anyone, the guy working though was definitely helpful when we needed help though and if he saw that we (me and the people i was with) needed help getting something down or just getting something in general he'd offer help, for me i actually liked this since he was still helpful and super friendly and nice when he would help me and he was still aware so before i even asked for help with anything he was already asking if i needed help, which i liked a lot, i could tell he was definitely a little awkward especially when checking me out but it was just a little laugh since i myself am sometimes awkward when socializing so i could understand he was naturally quiet too. I do get for some other people though they do appreciate staff being very present and welcoming and like a little "Hi let me know if you need help with anything" when entering but of course thats everyones personal preference. Along with the staff he was very helpful on letting us know how to hold the taxidermy since someone i went with had gotten a bigger hanging bat but it was his first ever taxidermy so he didnt know how to hold it since it was a walk back to the car, he was very helpful on telling and showing him how to hold it so it wouldnt swing too much and maybe break or get messed up. Overall ill definitely be coming back and i definitely recommend coming here, the pieces are super cool and the pricing is honestly great, staff is friendly and helpful when they need to be but they are on the quieter side so for some people this can come off as maybe rude or unwelcoming but just keep in mind some people are naturally quiet and the guy working was actually pretty cool when we needed help with anything!

This Hollywood hidden gem sits pretty much by itself across from the Amazon Prime Experience theater off Wilcox Avenue/Sunset Blvd between Sunset and Selma Avenue. Street parking (meter), local parking garages and lots or the metro (a short stroll from Hollywood/Vine) are your foeful friend. Great customer service and so many attentions to detail displayed throughout their entire store. One thing I truly enjoyed/enjoy about Memento M. is their support of others, including several look clubs, organizations and events like the iconic She's in Parties goth night event every 4th Friday of the month. First time visiting and wow... this place is way bigger than we expected…read more It's basically two huge side-by-side hangars full of stuff, plus even more items outside in the alley between them. You really need time for this place. We definitely came without enough time or the right "shopping mood" and already said we'll probably come back another day with more patience and more exact ideas. Some items felt overpriced for the condition, at least to me, but maybe the prices aren't final. I'm just not the type of person who negotiates Even if you don't buy anything, it's still fun to walk around and look at everything. If you're an interior designer or just into vintage furniture/decor, this place is probably heaven. One small disappointment for me personally -- I didn't see any vintage stoves. That's weirdly my dream item Although honestly for real cooking I still think induction wins.

Judy will often spend more time and gas going to inspect and pick up items that's your gain her loss. 2. Judy does research items and knows exactly what she has on a massive 2 building property...she's in her 80s. 3. This isn't a garage sale many of these are legit antiques, and some items does slip her detection system and are extremely low priced! Which is what kicked off the discussion as I was browsing for art supplies. I peeped the antique watches is in excellent condition just needing adjustment $35 and gold-filled is a steal!!! I would have snagged it if it wasn't in excellent condition as I respect workable items and repurpose the broken ones! Which is the thing that opened up the discussion where I found out all Judy does and that she's an artist on top! I want to be like Judy when I grow up! You will find antique furniture, if you know antiques and antique furniture you will understand the prices!!! There's spinning wheels! There's even plants!!! A whole lot of goodies spanning two massive buildings! Take your time there's a lot to go through!
