I went over to another farmers market a few miles south to give them time to get rolling and I would return. I returned around 9:30 and to my amazement it didn't any bigger really but I walked around it and saw coffee stand, soap, two food stands, lots of flower, lots of leafy greens and root vegetables, jewelry, meat and cheese stand. I think maybe 25 stands at the max and absolute no fresh fruits at all. This was a pretty small farmers market with no fruits on my visit and I ended up leaving empty handed and I probably will not return because the Milwaukee area has a couple better farmers market options.

The location is between 54th and 55th on Washington Boulevard, so right in the middle of the neighborhood. This was the first market day and it was great to see how well attended it was. There were roughly 20 stands, mostly local crafters. Vennture was pouring beer, Charles Fromage had wine and snacks and Heirloom brought the food truck. There was even a fashion bus which was fun. I left with a few candles from Fern and Leaf and had a good time. I'd love to see some produce suppliers at future markets, and maybe another food truck.

There are usually at least half a dozen food trucks lined up along the park, and other vendors if you want to purchase lunch at the market. There are another half dozen plus vendors for fresh produce, flowers, and other such things. For a lunchtime downtown weekday farmer's market, I would say there is a nice variety of seasonal vegetables usually available, and the prices are good. Other stands with baked goods and crafts are also present. If you have a half an hour to spare on your lunch break and you work downtown, I would recommend stopping by. Sometimes you'll even find live music.

This one was mostly vegetables with few fruits and flowers compared to the other farmers markets that I have been to. There was none of the soaps, honeys and specialty items either. There is very little prepared food with a Chinese place that had egg rolls and crab Rangoon while the other end had roasted corn and shaved ice, that's as good as it got. No food trucks or carts of any kind, there is plenty of people traffic to warrant one. My hot pepper hunt fell flat and a basket of jalapeños for $2 was as exotic as it got while lunch was one egg roll and one crab Rangoon for $2 so it was mostly a bust today on this trip. This Farmer marker ended up being mostly vegetables so if that's what you are looking for than your good. If your looking for a grander Farmers Market with excellent variety than try the Greenfield one, way better.

People in Milwaukee are lame and never go out of the 2-3 "hip" areas, so since this is literally my front yard - get your chicken shit butts over here and get some red beets. The farmers market is in downtown next to the library that has a free parking lot that was full. This is your typical farmers market with lots of fresh vegetables and next to no fruits but I did find a peach stand. The peaches were $10 a bag so I hope that they are really good because it's about $3.77 a pound. The market had a bbq stand and a cafe to snack on while you're there which I didn't have because I just left my breakfast spot. Nothing really grabbed me except the peaches so I didn't leave empty handed. I saw meat stands, dairy stands, fresh eggs, popcorn, jewelry, chiropractics, honey, root veggies, baked goods, cheese, flowers, soaps etc etc. This was a nice find and a well rounded farmers market but my standard complaint, very little fresh fruit because I always have fresh fruit at home more than veggies.
