Three of us visited the orchard expecting a much larger venue and some options to go picking apples ourselves, but were met with a single small store. Regardless, their apples were delicious (I got honey crisp) and they have a back room with more produce to choose from as well. We got 5 salsas and one queso that were good overall. The fire roasted and corn and bean salsas were our favorite! The fruit salsas (even cherry jalapeño) had absolutely no spice to them, so not worth the $7 for what was basically marmalade. Staff were nice enough and there wasn't a long line to check out for a nice Sunday. Caramel apple was made with a red apple and was soft inside, so it wasn't worth eating. Apple cider donuts were delicious, but don't taste apple cider at all. Cute place for what it is, but not was not what we were expecting. read more

Pulling into the Wisconsin neighborhood my boyfriend grew up in, there was a bit of a traffic jam preventing us from getting to our destination. Turns out there was a very popular orchard at the corner leading to his parents' house. So what caught my attention to ask for one last pit stop on our journey? Apple. Cider. Donuts. There were small signs along the road advertising the donuts and I knew I had to stop to get this autumnal treat. The parking lot was small and overflowing though, so we hesitated. There was a spot on the road across from the parking lot that enticed us to stop. But beware if you take a spot on the street. The road is VERY busy and drivers don't really pay attention to pedestrians. It would be awesome if there was a crosswalk leading into the parking lot. Once I was safely across, I took a gander around the small store. They had many offerings. Fresh fruits and veggies. Plenty of candies and popcorn. They also had a small selection of bread. It wasn't bad for a smaller sized orchard. The donuts were being sold outside in a fairly new and clean looking trailer. The line was short to get up to the ordering window and moved quickly because there weren't many choices. I bought a half dozen and a cold apple cider. Best treat... the donuts were piping hot!! Wow were they good! Each bite was airy and doughy without being mushy. The Apple cider donuts were covered in cinnamon sugar that gave a subtle crunch to the pastry. My only critique was a slight lack of apple flavor. I was really hoping to be walloped in the crispness of apple flavor. Overall this was a great way to kick off fall and a warm welcome to Wisconsin! read more

Seriously the best caramel apples. The apples were so juicy we had to eat them over napkins and the caramel was gooey and sticky and not hard or dried out. Get a fresh one if you can. They also have some great cherry juice, pies, apple cider donuts, and of course, bushels of apples. Worth a stop for the caramel apples alone! read more

Such a cool little market with tons of fresh produce. The prices are quite reasonable and some items are cheaper that the grocer. And, you bet I picked up some caramel apples! I feel like I'm having an affair with another farmstand. I usually go to Basse's but I wanted to try this place. (Please don't tell) While I don't know the owner here, I was still treated kindly and with a smile. With kids running the registers I don't come to expect that. It was a nice surprise. I will probably be back but I'll have to be sure to spend my time and money equally at both markets. read more

We went November 1st, so it was past apple picking season, but they had a large variety of picked apples bagged up and ready to purchase. You could get a full, 1/2 or 1/4 bushel bag, depending on your apple needs. We were going to choose Honey Crisp or Red Delicious, but then read the sign about the Melrose variety and decided to try those instead. Oh, my! Crisp, sweet and tart! That's the nice thing about this place....there are signs describing the attributes of each variety so you know which kind is better for baking versus eating. Also, the prices and varieties are stamped on the bag handles. The bigger the bag, the cheaper the price per pound. Also available here were vegetables, jams, bread, popcorn, cider, ice cream, caramel apples, mums, all the usual Wisconsin fall items. I love supporting local businesses, and this is one of my favorite! I stop in for apples all the time in fall and early winter! They have amazing prices and the yummiest fruit! Also a big selection. The "2nds" apples are even cheaper and perfect for baking/applesauce etc. Also, they have a large winter squash selection for waaaaay below grocery store prices. This is the place that introduced me to Honey Crisp apples long before you could find them in every local grocery store. I've never done my own picking - just go in and choose from the abundance of flavors available. I love the vast amount of information available, as well. I still have their "calendar" on my fridge to let me know the approximate seasons of each variety and which varieties are best of each application (pie, sauce, eating, etc...) They also always have "seconds" available, which aren't as pretty, but are cheaper and if you're cutting them up - who cares?! They also usually have a variety of other fruits and veggies, plus the Lakefront Maple Root Beer another Yelper mentioned and caramel apples. This is also the only place I've found so far to have unpasteurized apple cider, which is the best option when home-brewing your own hard cider. I used to drive across town to go here, but now it's just down the street and I think that's probably going to be dangerous to my wallet. read more

I have been going to this orchard since I was a little kid, as it is only a couple of blocks away. They carry Lakefront Brewery's Maple Rootbeer... I stock up every time I come home. Use it to make a rootbeer float and you won't be disappointed. They are more than an orchard, providing fresh fruits and veggies throughout the season. This is one of my favorite places to get fresh produce. They grow the apples right here! They have potatoes that are amazing. They are open August to May and carry local eggs (from a nearby farmer), local produce (from other farmers nearby) and sell their own apples. The Caramel apples are worth the trip alone if you are not from the area!! The greatest addition they have made in 2018 is the new Apple Cider Donuts! AMAZING!!! Less expensive than regular donuts but so much better. Available only on the weekend they are a MUST BUY! They also added the option to use credit cards this year. I can't say enough about this small local farming group. This is the way it should be done. It is like having a farmer's market in your own backyard. Love the caramel apples here! Another perk is they have marshmallow cereal that tastes just like Lucky Charms marshmallows. They carry the Elegant Farmer pies, and their produce is great. Prices are moderate, and staff is very friendly. Great location for city folk like myself. Only complaint is they do not take credit or debit cards. read more

One main reason I go there (5 min. from my house). Fresh Apple Cider! Yum! Even last year with the horrible apple season, they still had cider I think past Christmas. I was seeing gallons in grocery stores for 8-9$ a gallon. They were still selling theirs for 4 or 5 a gallon. They could have raised the prices but they didn't. Very cool. Also other fresh fruits and veggies, fresh breads, various treats, apple deserts, others. Like a mini farmers market. Very nice people also. read more

It's nice to be able to buy orchard apples this close to the big city. However, it's frustrating that I purchased a bag of delicious Jonathan apples and about a half dozen apples on the bottom of the bag were not Jonathan apples, but a softer less flavorful variety. I could see if 1 or 2 apples got mixed in by mistake, but not this many....and all on the bottom of the bag???? Good caramel apples! read more
