This was very disappointing, especially since I expected a new, accurately described item. I contacted customer service immediately. It took over six minutes to reach a live person. Anthony assisted me and was polite, but Rookie Kids' policies are unacceptable. I was asked to email photos of the defects, which I did. I was then asked whether I wanted a refund or replacement. I needed the shoes urgently, so I requested a replacement. Instead of promptly resolving the issue, I was told my request had to be reviewed and approved first. Only then would I receive a return label, after which I would have to ship the defective shoes back, wait for inspection, and then finally have a replacement shipped. This process is not ideal for a customer who already paid in good faith for a brand-new item. Most reputable companies will immediately ship a replacement and include a return label, with the understanding that if the damaged item is not returned, the customer will be charged. Rookie Kids' policy unfairly delays the resolution and leaves the customer without the product they purchased for far too long. Fast shipping means little when the product arrives defective and the company does not stand behind their merchandise with efficient, customer-friendly solutions.

The staff was welcoming and we were directed to the side of the store that had my son's size. Ashley greeted us and was just a pleasure to work with. She made sure the shoe fit properly which is a huge plus for me because I have a growing pre-teen. Ashley really showed us personalized attention and she sold us another pair of cross trainer shoes for just everyday school use. We came in for one pair and left with two! And to top it off, Cassandra at check-out was so nice and patient as my son gathered his gift card and cash to pay for his birthday purchase. I was impressed with how carefully she checked the shoes and placed them back into the box with care which is something that I care about. Admitting, I am one of those who'd rather go online than go to a store to score stuff. But this is one of those rare occasions when online offers were priced completely ridiculous. Then I remembered this spot and remembered finding bargain buys for MJ stuff. Checked out their hours via Yelp and TADAH! Found myself in their store in no time. Parking is no issue - I found out right up front. It almost felt VIP. [Insert chuckle here.] They've done a little upgrade. The store looks a bit chicer and more modern. Tons of merchandise like the last visit. I got distracted for a few minutes (so many cool shoes!) but remained focused: I was here for socks and socks only! They had a bin of socks which I went through but couldn't find the specific ones I need. So, I asked a worker if they had any others. He guided me to a wall next to the cashier and BOOM: there they were, those specific ones I needed to get! And another great surprise: they were cheaper than anything I found online! (We're talking about at least 30% cheaper!) I walked around and found a lot of cool merchandise. Walked through the back and was told of the table with all items "on sale for 40% off." I found a couple of shoes, but even at 40%, it was still a little over my budget. They were so dang cool, though, I WANNNEETTT!!! They always come through at anytime I need anything Michael Jordan. He got me set up with SAS shoes and additional insoles and comfy socks. I told him if they worked I'd be back for another pair. My feet felt so much better than they had when I had gone to this event at the convention center before. I felt GREAT and came back for a second pair a few days later.
