I flew solo as did another female I met but I also got to meet several couples and friends that all had a great day taking this course! I started my day a complete newbie! Never handled a firearm, had very little knowledge, was nervous / intimidated. The in class portion ran from 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM and was super informative. Firearm safety is paramount and Bill was great at reinforcing that. We were able to handle revolvers, semi automatic weapons and ammunition, up close and personal. There was also stance and firing practice that really helped me get more comfortable handling a firearm. The range time ran from about 2:30 - 5:00 PM and was very exciting for me. Bill was there every step of the way offering guidance. This class was worth every penny. I got to receive my "Commonwealth of Massachusetts - Basic Firearms Safety Certificate" and the "NRA - Basics of Pistol Shooting Guide" plus being able to use all of the guns, safety gear, targets and ammo at the range. He mixes real passion for his craft with practical guidance and recommendations. And he's got a great sense of humor! Kirk is a gracious and gregarious instructor who methodically goes over every step of the course to assure that you understand what you are being taught as well as being comfortable with it as well. During the live fire portion of the course safety was of paramount importance and, although the same light-hearted atmosphere was there, he was watching every individual involved in the class with an eagle eye and was ready to quickly jump in if a potential hazardous situation arose. They had an easy online registration process, great deals on gun rentals with a wide variety and reasonable ammunition prices. Great, I mean great and SAFE staff. The operations manger is clearly doing a great running this place as it was clear that DJ was in command. The lounge with couches to take a break was a great touch. Highly recommend. I drove an hour and will do so again.
