I can't say enough good things about this clinic from beginning to end the whole entire staff is amazing. The waiting room is welcoming and inviting for you and your dog. They have snacks for you and pup cups for your dogs. I had already taken my dogs, just two veterinarians prior to coming here and they failed to treat her. Unfortunately, she has congestive heart failure, which is common in Chihuahuas and the doctor knew exactly what was wrong with her and exactly how to treat her. My dogs usually act like Chihuahuas, but we're very well behaved in this very calming environment. I have found my future home for my girls. Their fees are outrageously high. And their vets are very inexperienced. I took my dog 11 year-old Tibetan Terrior in to check out a lump on his right side. The vet who examined him briefly felt the lump, then she tried to do a fine needle aspiration of the lump and it took her several tries. After examining the cells under the microscope she could not make a determination, as she didn't get enough cells. She told me to watch it for the next month and then come back. My total bill was over $300. I then went back to my old vet at Belcaro Animal Hospital. She felt the lump and then immediately examined the rest of my dog's body, discovering two more lumps. She also made a map of the lumps for his records to track. The Brooklyn vet did neither. My old vet then examined the cells and came back with a confident diagnosis that the lumps were lipomas. This is the worst vet experience that I have ever had. I have been taking my dogs to Dr. Patterson for many years. Recently, she had (at least I think she did) to put one of my beloved dogs to sleep. I immediately searched the country for an amazing female Corso pup, to be with my 8 year old male corso. I involved Dr. Patterson during the entire process. She even referred me to a vet for the ear crop. Two weeks ago, I had the ear crop done, at the best specialist Vet in Colorado. He is two hours away. I obviously drove out for the surgery two weeks ago and again for the inspection and re-wrap last week, but I approached Dr. Patterson about her team removing the wrap and the stitches at the ten day mark, to save me a 5 hour drive, for something simple. She agreed. Also, last Friday (Today is Tuesday) I made an appointment and took the pup in because when I had the re-wrap done last week, Dr. Powell suggested taking the wraps off if I became concerned by any smells, as that could indicate infection. I had noticed a strong odor on Thursday, thus the appointment. I took the pup in on Friday at the prescribed time, and shortly thereafter Dr. Patterson called me in my car, and said that she did not think there was an infection, so in spite of the fact that I basically told her to remove the bandages, she left them on, for her staff to remove on Monday (Yesterday), three days later. On Sunday night the pup shook her head vigorously enough that one of the two ear wraps came off. Where it had been taped to the outer ear, it was very raw, and dry. I put some Polysporin on the outer ear, after cleaning it with some peroxide, and left it. On Monday morning (yesterday) I called Brooklyn Vet to inform them that since the pup shook one of the wraps off, that I had taken the other one off, so I only needed stitch removal. I took her to Brooklyn Vet at the scheduled time, and a very young girl came out to get her, as Brooklyn is the only company in the United States "ridiculously", still doing curb-side. About five minutes afterwards, she came back out holding the pup, with the collar still on, and I was shocked. She said that the cowardly Vet (The process is that the Vet calls you in your car, during curb-side) that was there that day, as Dr. Patterson was not there as usual, told her to tell me that the pups ears were infected and I needed to take her to the Vet that did the ears. I was livid, as this is a 10,000.00 pup, and my child, and she did nothing to treat a potential infection, she simple told me to take my "garbage dog" (That is worth more than her car) somewhere else, or that is how it felt. I have been a client of Brooklyn Vet and Dr. Patterson for many years, and have spent many thousands of dollars in her business. I have been very professional, and very friendly to her and her entire staff. I have referred many of my friends and associates, to Brooklyn. And this is the thanks that I get? Get in your Escalade, spend five hours round-trip, to go to the Vet that did your dogs ears. Just to get stitches removed, and possibly some antibiotics... There are many other reasons that you should not risk the health of your beloved pets with this bush-league, garbage facility. One of which is that when you think that you are going to Brooklyn Vet for your animals to be treated by, for example, Dr. Patterson, it is, in fact, one of her, "so-called" (young, very inexperienced) techs, who do the work... Also, when you are able to get into a room, to have your animal seen, for "literally" any procedure, including shots, one of these young, inexperienced clerks/Techs take your dog into the back. After the fake Vet who was there yesterday disrespected me, and put my very expensive, and beloved pup in danger, I would never trust them again. Now, I am not sure my last dog was sick enough to have put him down, as a Tech probably made that assessment. Don't trust you animals to this fake Vet clinic, who has an actual Vet in the building, but it is the Techs, that are young and inexperienced, who do the work on your animal. read more

DO NOT GO HERE unless you enjoy being harassed for money throughout your WHOLE visit. Wow such a disappointment dealing with the front desk staff, really put the final sour taste in my families mouth. We have been going here for years but tonight a simple visit turned into a nightmare. Heather and Jennifer harassed me the whole vet visit even when they were speaking to me about treatment making sure to get their MONEY. I couldn't believe the audacity of these two women being so rude to get money that nobody could even determine the price until we were done with the visit. Typically in a business it should be the appointment then the money. Apparently here they need the money so bad they must make sure to get it before you even leave. Extremely expensive! I went in for a wellness check for 2 dogs and spent over $600. I was shocked! I was not asked if I wanted bordatella shots for either but they did it anyway and I was charged. I even turned down 3 things they wanted to do. Can't imagine what it would have cost with the extra stuff they wanted to do. Grumpy lady at reception didn't help make the experience very good. And they still want a urine and fecal sample for one dog but gave me no containers, etc. Also not sure how to get urine sample from a dog. read more

It's hard to find a bright spot in our situation, but Brooklyn Veterinary Clinic were there for us when we needed it. Our 18 year old cat with late stage kidney and heart failure took a turn for the worse. I called the vet and they were nothing but caring and compassionate to our situation. Anything we asked for, they gave us, including support if we chose to let nature take its course at home. It became apparent that we would have to euthanize kitty. Heather helped us from start to finish and even took time to pet and love on the cat. Dr. Kathy made us feel comfortable and explained the process. She also did something amazing, the two other times we have to put our animals down, the vets would always try to push some last-minute treatment for a few more days with our pets. Dr. Kathy gave it to us straight and reassured us that we were making the best decision. We are taking a break from furry friends but when we bring another one into our family, the team at Brooklyn will be the only one for us. Thank you again Heather and Dr. Kathy. My issue is directly with the owner- Dr. Deb Patterson. The clinic staff has always been polite and kind to us. We have been taking our young Schnauzer to Brooklyn since March 2020. We literally have only set foot inside the clinic one time before the COVID-19 pandemic started. Brooklyn Vet Clinic is currently still closed and only operates under full lockdown rules. You must call them to have a vet tech come to your vehicle to retrieve your pet and you must wait inside your car for them to return. Since businesses in Douglas County reopened quite some time ago, the natural question for us has become, "when can we be with our dog during her vet visit?" At the time, it wasn't a burning question for us, so we never asked assuming they would open as soon as they could. Brooklyn Vet Clinic has never attempted to communicate their reopening timeline. Back in April, my wife took our dog in for a check-up and had to wait outside nearly an hour and a half before the vet tech returned our dog. No explanation was given for such a long wait. Last week, we discovered the flea and tick medication that was prescribed to our dog in April 2021, had an expiration date of 10/2020. I spoke to Dr. Patterson on the phone about the expired meds and she told me she would look into it and call me back. She left me feeling as if she didn't believe me. She never returned my call. My wife called a second time to follow up and was told someone would get back to us. It took 3 phone calls to get them to agree to exchange the medication. Today, I went to Brooklyn to exchange the expired medication and an employee came out to my car for the exchange. I asked the burning question... "When is Brooklyn going to reopen and allow customers to come inside?" The answer was, "I do not know. Dr. Patterson has chosen not open and that would be a question she needs to answer. Would you like me to have her call you?" I said yes and asked if she could email me our dog's history, as I decided at that point we were going elsewhere. Roughly five minutes later, Dr. Patterson called me and was very confrontational regarding my question about the clinic reopening. She went on to accuse me that my problem was political. Dr. Patterson stated that she has an employee who is a cancer patient and is immunocompromised. After her lecture that I was no longer welcome at Brooklyn Vet Clinic, I tried to explain to her that Brooklyn has not communicated anything to its customers and it was a simple question. It certainly is NOT political. I can better appreciate Dr. Patterson's reasonings for the closure now that I know them. Dr. Patterson- COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS! You come to a point where you just want to be with your dog during their visit to the vet. So with that, we are delighted to take our dog elsewhere... good riddance Brooklyn Vet Clinic! read more

The doctors and their staff are Fantastic. They treat all their patients as they were their own. The facility is always clean and well maintained. We also use the grooming service they offer as well. I had a horrible experience with Brooklyn recently. I've been going to Brooklyn for years, since they were at the older location. Once they moved to the new location, I'd had issues with billing at both the vet and the recommended boarding facility attached to the building. At boarding I was billed for 2 extra days. After I paid, I called back to question the bill and they apologized and reversed a flat $100 back to card. I also booked 2 kennels for 2 dogs online and when I checked in, I could only have 1 kennel. They said that their system only showed 1 kennel reserved even though on my online check in, it showed 2. It was a holiday, so they didn't have another one available and we were going out of town. One of my adopted dogs has anxiety when boarding so for a precaution we like to board them separate. Unfortunately, Boarding my dogs together did get one bit and no one noticed until I picked up my dogs. They said it must have just happened.... Right. After that we just used Brooklyn and continued to board elsewhere. Recently at Brooklyn I took in 2 new kittens. I was upsold on blood work for cat HIV screening and cancer, neutering, and multiple upcoming vaccines (rabies, boosters, etc) over $1500 of upcoming services, which I intended to complete with Brooklyn. My kitten were also diagnosed with ear mites at this appointment. I was told they would be back with a treatment but instead came back with 2 prescription called "revolutionary for kittens" for me to order them online. I was told by Dr. Jennifer that I would have "no issues ordering this at any online pharmacy". I started with Chewy.com and although they charged me $150 they could not get Brooklyn vet to confirm the prescription over they phone so I would have to mail the prescription physically to Kentucky. I called the vet and the older office lady told me "yep, that's their rule" (meaning chewys rule for physical prescription needed) that was a lie they happily verify over the phone. The same office lady left me a message saying to go to PetSmart and they could fill it. Petsmart laughed and said they were an animal hospital and could not fill Brooklyns prescriptions. I called back a 3rd time asking "why if I've paid $250 for kitten exams, they couldn't provide the medicine for ear mites". I got another call back from Dr Deb asking me to come back in for the ear cleaning and ointment. I go back for a second appointment in less than 2 weeks. Dr Deb cleans the kittens ears and provides around of worn medicine that Dr Jennifer missed (she also says they will need a second round when we come back). Dr Deb offered to give me "a 2 for 1 special" because of my trouble with the prescription. When I go to pay the same older front lady charged me $210. That night I got a call from the vets office while I was at work. when my husband called right back they could not tell us why they called and asked if he listened to the message. He let them know a message hadn't come through they just called and it was 5;00. After the message came through it was the vet letting us know they over charged us $146 and if we could call back tonight they could reverse it, otherwise we'd have a credit. Unfortunately, it was after 6 by time we heard the message, so I was stuck with a credit. I went back for the second ear cleaning and rabies shots a week and 2 days later... I saw 3rd doctor, Dr Emily. She was just as nice and helpful in the room as the other doctors. She even offered a complimentary mail trimming. Great! I asked about the second round of worm treatment and the lady helping her said they didn't need another one. Unfortunately for the this follow up appointment, the 3rd in less than a month. Dr Emily did full $65 cat exams on each kitten and charged for a booster, nail training, ear cleaning, and rabies which was $235 a cat or $470 for a single follow up appointment. When I told them I wouldn't be paying for cat exams when I've been here 3 times in 4week and they been examined by 2 other doctors. Eventually the office manager came out after 20 min wait and told me that the fees were accurate and if they touch the cat they have to charge for an exam. Dr. Deb needed 2 appointments for cleaning and ointment treatment. That is NOT an exam. I eventually got the bill down to $265 Total (146 credit from previous overcharge and 119 for additional services). I've never been so pissed off at an office for intentionally over billing and never explaining what they were even charging for. Absolutely horrible service all the way around! Every appointment was an attempt to up-charge and sale services, but even getting a simple ear mites treatment was a circus and took 3 appointments, at over 200 an appointment. read more

I have been using this clinic for eleven years, and they have gotten progressively more expensive due to the new facility they built for themselves. I brought my three month old puppy in today who had a light yeast infection in the ears and conjunctivitis, and they charged me $170. Extremely unfair prices. My puppy had seen a different vet two weeks prior, all I wanted was to tend to the dogs ears, and they charged me for an exam and for many other tests that were unnecessary to get as much money as possible. I saw Dr Tiffany, she told me "If you do not proceed with a smear test, your puppies eyeballs could MELT." Ridiculous. I am ashamed that I have given them loyalty for eleven years, and I will no longer use Brooklyn Veterinary Clinic, or recommend them to others as I have done for many years in the past. read more

I don't like to give bad reviews but I must on this one. I would not recommend this vet at all. I had several issues with them. 1st. It was a while back and I was in the waiting room waiting for them to bring my dog back out. The woman at the front desk got a call and put the person on hold and then began to make fun of that customer for asking "stupid questions" I had notified management and they apologized and said that they would handle it. I shouldn't have but I gave them another chance. I recently called to make a tech appointment for my dogs to get a vaccine(not rabies). I was told that I had to pay a vet visit for each dog plus the vaccine. When I asked why..I was told it was the law. I know this is not correct and the woman(same one who made fun of another customer was rude) . I was upset and voiced my opinion and advised that I would just find a new vet. They said they would have someone call me to discuss. They never did. I asked for recommendation on another platform for a new vet and the owner of Brooklyn vet said my information was not correct and they wanted to discuss outside of social media. And AGAIN never heard from anyone. Do not waste your time and money with this vet. They only care about their social media reviews and not keeping valuable clients. Also..when I found a new vet..I had to call Brooklyn several times to get them to send the records over. read more

We visited Brooklyn Vet, and Dr. Kathy because our 16 year old dog stopped eating. We feared the worse, and sadly test results came back as we expected. Dr. Kathy could not have been more supportive of us, and caring for our dog. I have been a customer for the last 10 years, but recently had a slight emergency with my 13 week old kitten and it made me realize once again how amazing the staff is at Brooklyn. My kitten had been treated at the ER vet in town for 2 1/2 days, and was even worse off after going there. Dr. Deb stepped right in, addressed the immediate health concerns, developed a treatment plan for her and wanted to see her back every 24 hours to keep a close eye on her. She went above and beyond for our kitty! She and her staff truly cared about the health and well being of my kitten! That meant the world to me! They genuinely care about the health and well being of the animals instead of being focused solely on money and how much they can charge. I am a 20 year old with a new pup. I selected Brooklyn because I read many reviews that gave them High marks. However, I was not impressed at all. I have grown up taking care of animals and know how to take care of them despite my age. I felt very talked down to and as if Dr. Deb was treating me like a child, and like I was incompetent in taking care of my animal. During our first visit she was criticizing me because my puppy was squirming while he was getting his temperature taken telling me that I needed to "work on it" , mind you he had no idea who this random lady was shoving something in his bum and was only 2 months old. I work full time and have a very hectic schedule and their version of "working with you" is telling you they have appointments weeks later and at specific set times. I went in to get my dogs second rabies vaccine and Lepto and was told I could not receive that vaccine and would have to return and still had to pay for an office visit even though I had nothing done besides her telling me that my dog was healthy... which I already know! When I called to see if they would again "work with me", I was told I would have to pay ANOTHER $60 office visit on top of the vaccines I was still needing. When I shared my concerns with the receptionist with Dr.Deb and how I felt as though she talked down to me and I would possibly like to switch Dr.s She went as far as to tell me that I was lying and that Dr. Deb helps her patients and would NEVER do that. This I do not doubt she just doesn't help or respect her younger patients. The receptionist proceeded to argue with me and tell me that she used to make $67,000 a year and switch to this job and is making significantly less and that clearly since they are in the vet business they aren't in it for the money. That statement I found inappropriate. Overall Poor customer service skills, poor friendliness of staff, poor concern for how owners feel about their animals care, and poor handling of several situations. If you are looking for quality care in the castle rock area I would recommend anywhere but here. read more
