Friendly staff, scenic views of the rolling hills, and rows of vibrant apple trees that stretch as far as you can see. We picked both Empire and McIntosh apples, and they were crisp, juicy, and perfectly ripe. After picking, we stopped by the barn and bought some Honey Crisp apples to take home, they were just as amazing. The barn also had a great local feel, with fresh cider, jams, and other Vermont-made goodies available. The highlight of the day had to be the fresh cider doughnuts; warm, soft, and coated in cinnamon sugar paired with cold apple cider. To make it even better, there was a live band playing outside, creating such a fun and festive atmosphere. Families were laughing, kids were playing, and everyone seemed to be enjoying the beautiful fall warm day. This was truly a great fall event and the perfect way to spend a weekend in Vermont. Between the beautiful scenery, great music, and delicious apples, we couldn't have asked for a better first visit. We'll definitely be making this an annual tradition!

This past trip was to lay my grandmother to rest so everything we did felt bittersweet, as though we don't know if we'd ever be coming back. Dakin Farm was as wonderful as ever. From the assortment of cheeses and honey, to being able to see the bees working away as shown in the video I uploaded, this will always be a special spot. Their honey sticks of various flavors are so, so good. If you don't buy some of their honey then you're truly missing out. It can get pretty busy in there but the staff is always kind. If you're a fan of fresh fudge, I recommend trying some of that too! We'll always have a soft spot for Dakin Farm.

However, I found that the prices at this Saratoga Olive Oil Co were NOT that bad. My roommate is a huge on olive oil. We use it in everything we cook. It's like..."omg you guys! So good for you!" Especially this woman who was sitting on the floor with like 5 kids. No joke. My brother and I were like...WTAF?!? Blocking such a massive part of the store, blocking us and many others from seeing what was on display behind them. We couldn't understand why the employees didn't say something to them. Small store, very crowded, 6 people sprawled out on the floor. What would you do as an employee??? I sure as hell would have been like..."umm, yeah, we are gonna need y'all to legit move. If you see 6 people camped out on the floor, lady showing kids something on her phone....just please ask them to ... moooove lol. He gave us free samples of everything we were interested in and I would say if you are going to choose I would get a vinegar over an oil. The black cherry balsamic vinegar was maybe the most flavorful things I have ever tasted it is superb and the peach was also wonderful it was so light and sweet for a vinegar and I got both to improve any average meal into something spectacular.
