This will be a short one. I know, I say that a lot and it's never the case. I will certainly try…read morewith this one. Burlington, VT. A special little city. In the downtown area, many cute, homey, many upmarket types of places. So many cute little stores to visit! TRULY a tourists dream! Haha! Especially if you like these types of stores...stores that have a considerable markup on their items. I imagine rent for these places is very high. However, I found that the prices at this Saratoga Olive Oil Co were NOT that bad. My roommate is a huge on olive oil. We use it in everything we cook. It's like..."omg you guys! So good for you!" So I went in here wanting to get something for him. It's a small place, so it was definitely crowded with the small group of people that were in there. Especially this woman who was sitting on the floor with like 5 kids. No joke. My brother and I were like...WTAF?!? Blocking such a massive part of the store, blocking us and many others from seeing what was on display behind them. We couldn't understand why the employees didn't say something to them. Small store, very crowded, 6 people sprawled out on the floor. What would you do as an employee??? I sure as hell would have been like..."umm, yeah, we are gonna need y'all to legit move. If you wanna chat, please take it outside. The store is too crowded for all...this" Ok, I probably would have been nicer if I worked there and I was certainly being nicer here. If I say what I REALLY wanted to say...Yelp would remove my review hahaha. Seriously, it's not the kids fault. That woman should have known better but chose to stay completely oblivious. We had to leave bc it was too crowded and we couldn't maneuver around them. We had planned to come back too bc I really did want to get a few bottles to ship back here to Idaho. Our time in VT wasn't long. So, alas, we never made it back. That's really the only complaint I'd have about this store. If you see 6 people camped out on the floor, lady showing kids something on her phone....just please ask them to ... moooove lol. I'm sure it was stressing the staff out and they weren't sure how to handle it. I should have been like..."hi! I can see you wanna say something but don't want to offend? I'd sure be glad to help you out!" Hahaha! It's a very nice little store tho. If you go to Burlington, chances are, you will absolutely go in here. If not, try to remember this review if by chance you come across it and pay them a visit. You'll be pleasantly surprised. Of course some things are pricey, but overall, not bad. I hope to return to Burlington some day. Grew up in upstate NY and this was my first time in Vermont haha. Family still in NY, so I know I'll be back to VT. Tried to make this short haha! Hope it's not too long. Check out Saratoga Olive Oil! Especially if you love to cook! Even if you don't and live with someone who does...you'll love this place and their incredible selection!! Thanks for reading, YelpOlivOilers! Cheers!

I come to Burlington often and this is the first time I have stopped in here and WOW!!! I recommend…read morethis place was great. From the home chef to the foodie to the average cook to feed yourself I think there is something for everyone. This place had probably 45 olive oils and vinegars with so many different flavor options and listed good pairings for all of them. The staff was SO knowledgeable and suggested meals, proteins, and additional pairing for the oils and vinegars. He gave us free samples of everything we were interested in and I would say if you are going to choose I would get a vinegar over an oil. The black cherry balsamic vinegar was maybe the most flavorful things I have ever tasted it is superb and the peach was also wonderful it was so light and sweet for a vinegar and I got both to improve any average meal into something spectacular.

Nobody likes hospitals. Or at least no one sane. I'm sane (mostly) and therefore I don't like…read morehospitals. Unfortunately, I've spent a lot of time at UVM Medical Center over the past two months. And food is definitely a comfort to me, so I've checked out all the dining options. The Garden Atrium is the kind of place that almost makes you forget you're in a hospital. The menu features fresh ingredients, many of them local, and the presentation is as good as any upscale restaurant. The staff there seem to be well-versed in kindness - they greet you with a smile and a gentle tone. Really, if any staff happen to read this, THANK YOU for making my day brighter. You can get food to-go or order in. If you order in you get a device to put on your table that has a tracker in it and the staff can find you by it. That means once you order you can just kick back and relax. There are some books to peruse if you so choose. The breakfast items range from pastries to eggs to french toast. Lunch offers up soups, some unique salads, sandwiches, and a few tapas-style small plates. They have different, unique specials after day. The first item I got was the tomato bisque which came with a piece of bread. The soup was decadent without being overly rich and was even organic! Super tasty and comforting. The grilled cheese was what I had next visit. The grilled cheese was perfectly gooey with local cheddar, cream cheese, and veggies served with a grain-based salad. Third time I got the breakfast special which had kale and onions over toast (I opted out of the bacon) with two poached eggs on top and red pepper drizzle over the whole concoction. All three I would happily eat again. And the prices were really, really reasonable. Again, I don't think people go hang out at hospitals for fun. With that in mind, another thing to note is that the Atrium space is open to anyone, several hours after the actual food stops being served. There's a fireplace, comfortable seating, and lots and lots of outlets so people can charge their devices. For someone who's coping with supporting others through medical issues, being invited by staff to stay as long as I needed to was a huge weight off my shoulders. There is plenty of seating everywhere in the hospital but it has the usual hustle and bustle going by and the Atrium is a bit more subdued. I would love for there to be later hours -- closing at 4:00 means that people who are at the hospital late don't have the best of options -- but beggars can't be choosers and I'm just grateful that all of the restaurants at UVM Medical Center are at least decent. I'd also love to see a few more vegan options in the future. But really, I'm just grateful for this space. Now if only the hospital could have a bar and a napping area...

Great place to have a civilized breakfast. There are not many sit down options in the area…read more Finally, eating-in... they offer a daily baked egg special. The baked egg came with a piece of cornbread and slices of orange as a garnish/finish. Today's baked egg was filled with fresh veggies, and sun dried tomatoes. The cornbread was on the drier side, but still very good and just a touch of sweetness. The staff here are really pleasant, adding to the overall experience.
