I am not sure if clothes shopping tops of the list of things my color-challenged husband dislikes doing - but it is certainly right up there. Until we visited Brooks Brothers. While shopping still remains an "only when absolutely necessary activity", my husband does not dread going to BB. The quality and variety is excellent, the store is well organized, clean and has seating for those who are not actively shopping. Most importantly though he trusts the salesstaff to not lead him astray - especially Kevin O. Kevin is knowledgeable, helpful and astute. Neither my husband nor I could specify what we were looking for, but we could describe the place and event. Kevin took it from there. I was in the store today for about 30-40 minutes waiting for an employee to help me. They all assisted everyone else that came except for me. I was 100% ready to purchase shirts however I was waiting to get measured. After finally being measured 30 minutes in, they immediately left to help other customers that came after me. I didn't even have the opportunity to ask my questions. How was I suppose to know what shirts to buy if they couldn't give me 2 minutes to help. It's sad that I wasted so much time waiting for an employee. I understand stores can get busy especially when you have around 5 employees and 3 customers to take care of, but sorry I won't be returning. It's a shame that I have to take my business elsewhere. I stopped shopping at the Walt Whitman location because I was getting abused by a sales person named John a few years ago and went to Men's Warehouse, although the clothes were not as high quality, the sales people were kind. I recently was invited to an after hours cocktail party at the new Walt Whitman store and met a great salesperson, Patrick, he sold me an awesome Madison sports coat that gets me complements all the time. I was glad to be back! I saw the 50% off sale and bought 4 new sports coats at their outlet, since I was out east already, they were awesome, but the jackets didn't fit the same as the retail location, so I went to return them to the Walt Whitman Store which I was told I could and Patrick wasn't there, but John Hughes was, the same guy from years ago! And once again he was not a gentlemen, rude, rude, rude! He took 3 of the 4 jackets and busted my shoes about one silly tag that wasn't on the jacket, I understand store policy, but you don't need to be nasty about it. read more

Store employees were polite and helpful. There were plenty of employees, I could get assistance when I needed it. The store is beautiful, organized and clean. The dressing rooms are especially well done and clean, which is increasingly rare. read more

My husband needed to have a tux purchased and tailored in less than one week. Their tailor Mark Wong not only got the tailoring completed ahead of time, the fit of the tux was perfect. Would recommend this store for any tailoring needs read more

Its funny how different the sales people there are when you're buying something vs returning something. After many purchases, I went to return a blazer. The associate, Reginald Saunders, made the transaction as uncomfortable as possible, berating me and even going as far as questioning my past purchases at the store. read more

A gentleman named Joel went out of his way to help us with our selection, showing us items that were not on display and making multiple trips to the stock room to make sure our needs were met. I've switched to shopping at this location after their store at Roosevelt Field closed. Have returned a few items always with receipt and have never had problems. Made another return that I had purchased online and it took the associate a few minutes to sort it out, but I've never had the kind of experience the other reviewers describe. This store certainly deserves higher marks than what I'm seeing here. I think that given the potential size of the store and the money they put into it's recent build out, it feels somewhat small (losing half a floor for a staircase with a big open atrium feel) and limited in selection compared to stores like the Lincoln center location in manhattan, otherwise I would give 5 stars. read more

Recently visited the store for some dress pants. Met with Cathy. She was well trained in BB products and systems and very accommodating. I was able to buy 8 pair of pants, have them altered all in 15 minutes. The alterations were very reasonably priced. Went to Brooks Brothers to exchange a defective dress shirt - the fabric split on the outside of the arm. Have been shopping there for 6 years and have been buying large lots of the same shirts for a school uniform and have never had any issues with the product or the store's service. Reginald Saunders could not find my name and questioned whether or not I was a customer in the past. He questioned how I laundered the shirt. He has a way of making you feel as if you've shoplifted the product just because he could not find the purchasing history. After fuddling through many misspellings of my name, he came across the purchase, reminded me that the purchase was 9 months old (with a doubtful glance, as if to say whoever would dare to bring in a shirt after 9 months), and told me that he would do me just this one favor - but never again - to exchange it. He reminded me on no less than 3 occasions that it was not customary for BB to replace anything, that he was making one allowance. I will not shop at that location again. Mr. del Vecchio, please check into your hires before they offend your longtime customers. read more
