I had an outstanding experience at the Brooks Brothers store in Tysons Corner today. I originally came in this morning simply to try on jacket sizes after purchasing two suits and a blazer at a different location. Those items were already a near-perfect fit--just the sleeves were slightly long and needed a small adjustment. From the moment I walked in, Quentin was a pleasure to work with. He was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful, and he let me know the store could handle alterations in-house. That level of service immediately gave me confidence. I returned later in the afternoon with two suits and two blazers, and they took care of everything quickly and efficiently--adjusting sleeve length on three jackets and replacing buttons on the fourth. The cost was extremely reasonable (only $40 total), and everything will be ready in about a week. Honestly, I have no idea why this store gets poor reviews online--my experience was nothing short of white-glove service. Quentin is absolutely the reason I'll be coming back for future wardrobe needs, and I also appreciate Nancy, the store manager, for overseeing such a smooth and professional experience. Ordered a custom suit was super excited but when i got there the suit was the wrong color. With the time crunch for a wedding and such a big mistake i got a refund and wouldn't recommend shopping here. Sales guy that helped me was nice but wouldn't say the same about others.... Just stay away if you're looking for a good product and service. Also not sure if this is related but i signed up for their credit card to get the discount and within the first week somehow my virtual card was used to try to purchase something and then this week someone tried using the Amex i used to try to buy a iPhone in the same mall just seems off. read more

I agree with other reviewers. The merchandise here is consistent with other locations but the customer service is surely lacking and sometimes borderline non-existent if not somewhat rude. It truly does vary depending upon the associate, presuming that you are even acknowledged in the first place. My family has been buying suits from this location (Tysons corner mall) for at least 15 years. The last two years we have been buying online. At Christmas we purchased 4 shirts, I called and learned they recently changed the material. I proceed to go into the store and it was horrible. I was judged before I even opened my mouth. The employee was rude and condescending, I asked a question and he did answer. I asked a second question and he repeated with the same answer he gave the first question, with the eye rolls. I was so taken back that I told him I didn't appreciate his attitude and proceeded to leave. I ended up going back a few minutes later because I still needed to do a return and he told me he was the best person to help me (he was much nicer this time but I was still pretty sad about the interaction). This location has terrible customer service. It's really bad and honestly, for the amount of money you spend - you deserve to be treated well. This Brook's Brothers is located on level two of Tyson's Corner mall. Their floor associates in the men's suits department are friendly and professional and helped us look for a suit to fit my boyfriend's very precise requirements (the fit, the color and so on). They are very friendly as well. The downside is that their lighting is terrible. It is classic. Elegant. Yes. However, it is uneven and overly yellow. Therefore, you can't really tell the subtle differences between the colors. This is a big problem when someone is looking for a very specific color. The second problem is that they have a very limited range. Yes, this is a high end store, but despite their ample floor space they have a very limited range (in terms of styles, colors) in men's two-iece suits, hankie (the handkerchief for the pocket), ties, tie holders, and so on. read more

I find the hubby neatly and painstakingly going thru a stack of dress shirts row by row. Does hubby work here you ask? No, he does not. Then why is he doing that you ask? He is looking for his size. What else would you do when there is no one there to offer assistance. I starting helping him look for his size and even looked in all the storage cabinet drawers. Finally, I had enough and started looking for a sales associate. At last I find one. A minor miracle. Hubby requests very nicely for his size for four dress shirts. We wait patiently. Good Morning Everyone! Recently, I went into the Tysons Corner Store to look at the pre holiday season men's sport coats, trousers, sweaters, and shirts. The customer service and Brooks Brothers expertise has become terrible in this location. I asked an associate to help me and he came over to help me and showed me a pair of trousers that I tried on and said there was no tailor onboard that day. I said I'll meet you at the counter to pay for everything I have there. He went to do something else and it appeared that he simply ignored me. I clearly said I'll meet you at checkout. I saw him taking sport jackets somewhere and never came over to help me check out. The ladies at the counter were busy so I stood there waiting. I asked what happened and they said he went to do something else and didn't know why. So I just bought 1 sweater and went home. The next day I came back to buy the trousers and a sport coat and a sweater. Then the next day I came back to buy a tie to match the jacket I bought the day before. He showed me one tie. I asked him to show me some others and then he walked away and I watched him go to the back of the store and go behind closed doors. I thought he was coming back. I was told he went on a lunch break and stood there and asked another associate to help me and then he walked away and asked someone else to help me. He asked someone else to help me and he walked behind the counter to something else. I was unhappy and walked out of the store and went to the Connecticut Avenue store in Washington. The associate there greeted me and said it's great to see you again. I said that I needed a tie to match the jacket I bought the day before. He immediately showed me over ten ties to match and numerous shirts to match and explained all the colors to match. He was amazing. I bought another pair of trousers, a tie, and a shirt. Because of his great Brooks Brothers salesmanship I bought more than the tie that I really came in to buy at the store. I went back to Tysons and went into the store and asked a gentleman to help me. I went over to the side of the store to wait for him and he stayed behind the counter to do something else. I was very unhappy and I asked to see the manager and explained what happened. She said that it was a misunderstanding. I spoke with this manager and asked why associates are not helping customers outfitting their wardrobe needs for the suits and all of the accessories from beginning to end. I was there returning an unwanted jacket and was forced into take the full refund to go back to a gift card when I said I am trying to get rid of all my gift cards. I have purchased multiple items from Brooks Brothers. I usually get my items tailored by an outside tailor however I decided to try out the alterations at this location (Tysons Corner) by getting a pair of trouser hemmed. The jacket fit was okay if the rack so it did not need to be altered. The wait was almost two weeks for one pair of trousers and they did not offer free tailoring. Upon picking them up, the length was extremely short when I went in to get the trouser and tried them on. The tailor took trouser back to lengthen hem by another inch and even when the trousers were brought back up they were still too short. The tailor kept saying oh they'll be fine for the lower heeled shoes I would wear. I had on heels during initial measurement so I don't understand why they were so off. I was frustrated and decided to just take the trousers and leave. Upon trying them on again when I got home, the length of each leg is noticeably different. The trousers cannot be worn with any heels and barely long enough for a flat. They have a flared fit so hemming has to be perfect to maintain desired look. We pay too much for these suits to receive alterations that are not accurate. Lastly, the suit material of the women's suit was very thin. I like the products but will never trust the location with my alterations. I'll try to get another tailor to fix and lengthen if there's enough room left to do so. Disappointed. read more

Hey- come take my money!!! I could walk in wearing a sandwich board saying this and I still wouldn't be helped. We were there to help hubby buy 2 suits. It was like a suit shop from inside the claw machine in toy story-except sad.There's no one there and it's eerily quiet but then an associate comes out of nowhere and disappears behind "the door"ooohhhhhh Needless to say we got no help. We came back a second time because we were all out of pins to stick in our eyeballs and we were helped by the most apathetic man boy in existence. I was hysterically laughing at how much this human hated suits,helping and people. They must not work off of commission and also must hate clothes in general. I have been shopping at the Tysons Corner Brooks Brothers for several years, however, recently, I came to the store to get a pair of trousers altered. I walked by 3 salespeople with no one asking if I need help. One salesperson in the suit section actually looked right at me and looked down immediately. I couldn't believe it. This place just took all the love of Brooks Brothers away. I may continue to buy shirts online but will never go back to this store again. So sad. read more

I called the nation customer service hotline and they were super helpful in informing me to call my local store for a digitized version of my receipt. When I called into the store where I purchased my items with not only a specific amount, date, and time of purchase they told me it was impossible to get the digital receipt despite the corporate customer service hotline telling me otherwise. I made an appointment to get my third bespoke suit from Brooks. The prior two were all right but they were in shop a long, long time before I got the call that they were ready. I may have called them. This time I waited over a half hour for my appointed time. I eventually left because they were dragging their feet with a prior (not on time) customer. I got an email that if I was still in mall I should come back. They didn't value my time, the prior suits were delayed weeks longer than expected. No apology or effort to make good. My last Brooks suit is wearing thin, but I don't want to be treated so poorly again. They lost thousands of dollars of business and a longtime customer. Brooks in NYC may be well run. The Tyson's store is too aggravating to return to again. read more

It's hard to have a frustration-free experience at this location. I suspect that in an SNL-esque fashion, staff here are professionally trained in a dark room somewhere to be especially unhelpful and uncooperative. More than once I have received information from staff here that turned out to be flat-out wrong after checking personally with corporate customer service (great folks, btw). It's difficult to track down sales associates, who have become experts at hiding. There is also some snobbery here - surprising for a brand that is constantly on sale. To be fair, this is probably an issue with BB and not just this location. Occasionally I've seen Sales Associates be helpful, so depending on how you look like YMMV with the service. Come for the clothes, leave without buying anything and wondering why you came here in the first place. read more

The people below are honestly just used to getting everything handed to them on a platter. The staff welcomes you and asks if you need help finding anything straight from the door. If you build up the courage to talk to someone, surprisingly you're going to get help from someone. Shocker! One employee helped me look for suit jackets in my large size and went through the whole store and the back to try and find things my size. If you're a big boy or girl and aren't afraid to talk to people then you'll have a blast at this store and you'll get to see how kind the staff is. Another thing, obviously the clothes are expensive. Extremely unprofessional customer service. Dropped by on several occasions and it was consistently horrendous. My friends and family had similar experiences. Most recently, I was completely ignored while trying to speak to someone about an item I was interested in trying on. The older gentleman behind the counter stayed on the phone for the entire time I was standing there waiting for him to acknowledge me as a customer. After standing in front of him (staring and saying "hello!") for over two minutes, I just left. Never to come back. Having come from Ralf Lauren at galleria, I was absolutely not expecting this. Worst Brooks Brothers store ever. Jonathan Milan the supervisor doesn't seem to know the store policy, I have never seen such poor customer service, and on top of that, he's profiling clients. I went to exchange a pair of pants but I didn't want to exchange the pants instead offered me a new pants for 25% off, so I finally called the corporate office to just exchange the item, and they agreed to send me a return label for the item to be exchanged, I didn't understand why he couldn't just exchange the pants in the store. read more

Really, really slow service. I had to hunt down a salesperson for help in the middle of the day and even then was handed off before I could get any resolution. I came in just because I found out that the suits I bought did not have the sleeve buttons sewn on. Apparently this is a Brooks Brothers thing and almost all of their suits need buttons added after sale. This location quoted me two weeks to have the sleeve buttons sewn onto 2 Brooks Cool suits. 16 buttons takes two weeks for suits that retail for $700+? Come on! read more

I have been shopping at BB for 25 years. The customer service at the Tysons store is so bad that I will no longer shop at BB. Over the years I have purchased dozens of sweaters, dress shirts, and pants. In the past year, I have had 2 issues with the quality of the clothes. One dress shirt after one wash completely frayed in several areas. One sweater after one wash did not fit right. In both cases the washing instructions were followed. I have washed many BB items and never had issues. Clearly these two had a manufacture defect. While returning both of these items, 6 months apart, the staff said I cannot return the items even with my recipient and within return policy. It took arguing to get a shirt exchange and sweater refund. The first line of BB return policy is we want you to be satisfied. Clearly this is not true. After 25 years and many thousands of dollars, I am done with BB and will suggest others do the same. read more
