I had selected this bag for its 4 wheel ease of rolling, and never expected such a glitch. Travel Pro sent me to the WONDERFUL Luggage & Leather in the Shoppes of Bethesda on Hampden Lane. They fixed my bag in 48 hours, all TravelPro parts, covered by warranty. I was impressed by the huge selection of luggage in the store, the shop owner is very nice, and the parking is free! This is a great local merchant.

"Better than new"…read more I had a fantastic experience with Luggage & Leather Depot on the good ol' Hamden Road. I was dashing out to a meeting a week or so ago. Grabbed the trusty messenger bag con laptop, and bang! - strap broke, and everything spilled onto the floor. I collected everything, checked to see what had happened, and proceeded to be late to my meeting. When I arrived back home, the first thing I did was try to locate a leather repair shop, and the depot was at the top of the list, and less than a mile from me. I called, and the gent said that they would likely be able to fix it, so I took a walk over, and dropped off the bag. In less than 3 days, Mr. Kim called to inform me that he'd completed the repair. Again, I walked over to retrieve my Mark & Graham bag for a grand total of $38. Not only did I just save a few hundred dollars by not having to buy a new bag, but the repair was as advertised - "better than new" - with new leather, and an added metal bar for strength. I can't recommend this business highly enough. I'm looking forward to my next interaction - think I'll buy something new there next time. See you in town!

I dropped of my shoes two weeks bf Christmas. TWO WEEKS.Owner said ( as he gave me my repair…read moreticket) completed by Dec 27th! Cool! I called January 10 to say I would pick up by the 24th.... Then SNOWMAGEDON happened! Mind you... I took my repair to this particular shop from a personal friends' review.... So today ( Feb 2,2026) I drove down to pick up my shoes..... The owner looked at me with confusion as I handed him my repair ticket. I described my shoes to a T...5 inch stilettos with a wide crisscross strap. Still confused face. I literally watched this man walk over to a pile of shoes and rummage through pairs and pairs of shoes to eventually find mine on the bottom of the pile.... Dusty and half stripped . So I knew work had started on them bc I did not drop them off in the condition I took them back in. I inquired as to why they were not finished and he said " it's been busy, then snow". I also asked why he did not tell me he had not finished them when I called ( and I gave him the tix number on the 10th of January). He shrugged his shoulders. At this point.... ZERO APOLOGY! ZERO offer to complete the repair at a 25% discount.... I did not ask him for one. He said... and I quote..." you said take your time".... In my mind and most other customers minds.... Take your time means in a reasonable time..... HE gave me the date of completion for Dec 27.... Again.... Shoulder shrugs! How does someone run a business like this? Lack of respect for my shoes ( found on the floor) lack of honoring the delivery date with ZERO APOLOGIES. Then have the audacity to place blame on THE CUSTOMER for not having the repair FINISHED because I stated take your time! SOMEONE MAKE THIS MAKE SENSE TO ME!!!! I called my friend who highly recommended MASTER REPAIR SHOP in Rockville Maryland to me and let him know how my repair project was treated. He was beyond shocked. Many apologies from my friend but not ONE from the OWNER! Please avoid this shit hole ( physically a nasty mess... where my shoes were found on the floor) AT ALL COSTS!!! The owner is CLUELESS on how to provide great customer service. It was HEINOUS AND DEPLORABLE AT BEST! With the damage done to my shoes ( because he started my project) the price to fix them at another shop up the road was 50 dollars MORE... at $150.00! That's double the cost of the shoes when I bought them. When the owner said he would fix them in the next MONTH ( I have a late Winter wedding to attend and wanted to wear the shoes in question) I nearly lost my mind! I stared at him with such disappointment .... He then said... and I quote..." You didn't pay YET, so here" and held out my shoes to take. I took them and as I left I told him what I thought of his shitty customer service in Italian, Spanish and English! I'm sure he understood ONE of the three languages I speak! Master Repair Shop in Rockville, Md is a horrible place to have your shoes repaired. The customer service is beyond repair itself and I will NEVER EVER allow this shop to work on any of my shoes if I'm in need of repairs. It should NOT TAKE over 7 weeks to repair something this simple as my repair needs..... in his words! A complete disaster and I give Master Repair Shop in Rockville, Md a negative 10.... -10 !!!! Zero stars!!!! Had to put one star rating other wise it would not allow me to post! But still.... ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! A total shit hole! Kathryn L

This husband and wife team are a "dying" breed of artisans that hand craft leather goods for the horse trade (we're not horse owners) and other leather goods such as belts, wallets, and dog leashes. They also repair virtually anything made of leather: shoes, luggage, handbags, etc. They do all the work themselves right in their shop, not like the Korean Dry Cleaners that send the stuff out. We were so impressed with the quality of workmanship that we bought his and hers belts, and a dog leash. Wayne Groves fitted the belts to each of us and put on some finishing touches. The belts also were hand braided on the ends where the hardware was and the hand-loop, not riveted. Highly recommend if you have quality leather goods that need to be repaired, or if you are in the market for quality leather goods.

But that is not the reason to go there. He has been working in leather for over 40 years and is considered to be a Master Craftsman in his trade. Having many horses over the years I have needed his services often, and found the quality of his workmanship to be the best I have ever found. He can repair, restore or create anything made of leather, and the product will always be better than new. He was also very careful to undercharge for his services. We were very fortunate to have someone of his character and professionalism so close to home. I need to add a review of Murphy S, below, and note that he gives one star to 40% of his reviews. He only represents a small minority of the recent arrivals to our town and they tend to give us a bad name. He also refers to the renowned 5 star Chez Francois as his "neighborhood" restaurant. That snobbery alone tells you the caliber of the man.

After losing a lot of money trying multiple shops around the area I eventually found George Shoe Repair, and the difference was immediately clear. George's craftsmanship and knowledge is exceptional. He truly understands shoe construction, materials, and the proper way to restore high-end footwear. Every pair I've brought to him has been handled with precision and attention to detail that reflects real mastery of his craft. What really separates George from many other repair shops is his honesty and integrity. I once asked him to perform a specific alteration on a pair of Chanel shoes. Instead of agreeing and taking my money, he flat out told me no; NOT because he couldn't but because the alteration would damage the structure of my shoe and ruin it over time. That level of transparency is RARE. In the past, other shops just said yes, took on work they shouldn't have, and ultimately I had to throw my shoes away literally costing me thousands of dollars. Another thing worth highlighting is that his prices are extremely reasonable, especially considering the quality of the work. You're getting top-level craftsmanship without the inflated pricing that many places charge for far far worse results. George runs his shop with professionalism, skill, and genuine respect for the craft. If you care about your shoes and want someone who will treat them the right way, GEORGE IS EASILY THE BEST IN THE DMV HANDS DOWN!!
