The ONLY reason I hired Brooks Moving & Hauling is because my husband owns two large gun safes and we wanted them moved without incident. My communication with Steven started simply enough. He was pleasant and expressed confidence in his ability to move the safes; even going so far as saying that it was a specialty he has successfully completed several times (it is a highlight offering on his website). To make a long story short, he absolutely overestimated his skill level. It could not have been more glaringly obvious that this was not, in fact a specialty. It can be safely assumed that this is something he rarely, if ever, completes on a regular basis. Steven (plus 4 of his male employees) tried unsuccessfully for 8+ minutes to shove our custom safe through our hallway (damaging our wall and baseboard in their wake). Then, at my suggestion, they changed course and moved the safe through our master bathroom cabana door. Unfortunately, in so doing, they split the lower half of our door casing in two. There is no way that Steven and his crew didn't realize immediately the damage they caused but none of them said a word. Instead, they continued to load our safe into their truck and proceed to the next location. We did not discover the damage until the following day. When unloading our safe at its destination, again, they shoved it through a too-narrow passageway. Steven left before the safe was unwrapped and I know it's because he knew he did a poor job but his pockets were already lined with $2500.00 cash and he wouldn't dare offer to refund a significant portion of our bill when he had already been paid. Low and behold, the safe was unwrapped by his crew and scratched in two places, on the center/top, where the damage can't be missed. I called him immediately and he offered virtually nothing in the way of satisfying an extremely unhappy client. He also spoke to my husband and offered nothing other than a rehearsed, insincere apology. Truthfully, we didn't get much more than a shrug of the shoulder. After Steven left, I noticed that his crew ripped two of my brand new, velvet chairs down the entire top/center seam-line as well. No apology from any of them. At this point, we fired Steven and his crew immediately; before they had a chance to complete the second half of our move. The only rectification Steven offered for all the damage they caused was a measly $250.00. He took off, like an absolute crook with $2500.00 of our hard earned money. If you have belongings that are valuable to you and that which you worked hard to purchase, do NOT trust this company. They're terrible. Moving large safes is not a specialty this company can complete. It is a way for them to earn more revenue from unsuspecting clients. Steven entices potential customers with a cash discount and then hits the road, after being paid, but before the job is complete, without any further care. Should you incur damages of this magnitude and wish to be compensated beyond his ridiculous offer(s), you won't have a single leg to stand on when litigating for damages. I had a terrible experience with Brooks The Movers, specifically with the crew on my move. Javier, in particular, seemed unwilling to be there and took it out on me and my furniture. His attitude was extremely unprofessional, and the crew was talking about me in Spanish while handling my belongings. Almost every piece of furniture was damaged during the move: -The arms of my sectional were ripped off, forcing me to throw away half of it. -My mattress was ruined, with springs exposed along the entire side. -The headboard was assembled incorrectly, the screw was stripped, and then hidden under a box. -A Chester drawer that my mom worked hard to purchase was chipped The movers made condescending comments about my furniture, despite me being upfront about what I had. Additionally, I was charged double the original quote, even though the crew spent 30-45 minutes parked and not actively working. They were not gentle with my items at all, repeatedly slamming things down. This level of carelessness and disrespect left me heartbroken, and I now have to replace much of my furniture. I am extremely disappointed in this service and would not recommend Brooks The Movers. read more

The estimate that was given by Steven Brooks was spot-on; even I had no idea that I had that many items to be moved! Steven Brooks is a consummate professional. He listens well to each and every customer and works tirelessly to represent the Golden Rule (Do unto others as you would have them do unto you - Luke 6:31). As I was not sure of the exact date of my closing, I had to rearrange my timeline several times. Steven was attentive and non-judgmental. His response was always a cheery "Sure, no problem at all." He was sure to accommodate whatever date and time was required. Also, note that he was ALWAYS AVAILABLE and responded to texts late at night and incredibly early in the morning. We did a lot of research and we are beyond happy we went with Brooks moving. The owner, Steven Brooks, and all of the employees were very professional, courteous and knowledgeable. I have never met such hard-working dedicated young men. They really go the extra mile to ensure everything is properly taken care of. Each employee went way above and beyond and exceeded our expectations by a long shot. The three gentlemen that actually did the move; Thomaas, Ian and Shea had a fantastic attitude and we're enthusiastic through out the extremely long day. It was an absolute pleasure to meet them and be able to experience the time with them. They picked up and move things that would have crushed most moral men's splines and move them with what appeared to be relative ease not to mention all the hard work they did was done with a smile on her face the entire day. I am a local, established business owner myself. There has never been a time, in my 25-year career, that I denied a paying client the opportunity to chat with me in person about my job performance. I specifically requested that Steven return to our residence to discuss the poor service he and his employees delivered. He refused. To me, his refusal proved a level of cowardice that one would expect from a fly-by-night type company; not one who desires to see long term success nor one who charges $2500.00 for a fairly simple/two-room move and two safes. Brooks Moving & Hauling failed us miserably and likely, will fail you too. Do yourself a favor. Hire a company that doesn't employ a handful of teenagers to move your belongings and one whose President can handle the heat when something goes wrong. They stole thousands of dollars of jewelry and electronics from me in December 2021. The owner was verbally abusive and threatening, screamed at me that I was trying to ruin his business, told me if I told anyone he'd "make me pay" and wouldn't cooperate with police or the BBB. See his responses below. It's now April 2022. A different detective called me today. The same men who stole from me, convicted felons who still work for Brooks, stole firearms from someone else, and now people are going to prison. Owner has not apologized, removed the abusive statements or tried to make things right for me at all. He continues being hateful, even though he knows I was a victim and told the police that. This is a criminal enterprise pretending to be a business. You cannot be licensed and insured and sending felons into people's homes. This company lies. Avoid using it. read more

Steven and the entire team at Brooks are top-notch! I used their services to empty out a storage unit and load a U-Haul. The team then met me at my house to offload a few items from the U-Haul and load a few more items from the house. They also helped me move a few items around the house that were too big for one person to move alone. The guys worked efficiently and quickly - the entire process took no more than two hours. They were pleasant to deal with and talk to. Steven was incredibly professional and quick to respond throughout the process of providing a quote and organizing this project. Outstanding move at a very reasonable price, start to finish! Brooks moved our warehouse and office from Palm Beach Gardens to Jupiter on a Sunday, and Tomas and his team (Jordan, Jackson & Ian) were waiting for us before 8AM. Seven hours later, despite 95°F temperatures and a 1000lb fire safe, we were moved. The guys didn't damage a thing and they all handled every snag with professionalism and humor. When I called for a quote to move some large items from Jupiter to Palm Beach Gardens, Steven Brooks gave me an immediate quote over the phone and scheduled the move at my convenience. The guys called to say they would arrive early. They were very courteous, quick and efficient and had the job done within a surprisingly short time. Without being asked they came prepared with mattress bags to protect the mattress and box spring. Everything was handled perfectly and at a better price than anyone else I called. I recently contacted Brook's to help me move into my new apartment. They were very concise and gave me a quote faster than any other company I contacted. I didn't have many things but what I did have was quite heavy. I'm glad to say everything made it to my new home in the same condition it left in. The movers I had were excellent. 2 of the workers were good however 1 them looked like he was on drugs and kept nodding out. God forbid he fell while holding my expensive china cabinet...There was way too many cases on the news of people trying to rape and tie them up. I called the company and a manager after waiting 25mins finally got on, i addressed my concerns and all he did was yell at me....I ended up kicking them out and now wondering if the whole company is on drugs. Our move today was not a happy time. Ryan and Louis arrived on time. They helped us make difficult decisions about proceeding- some goes to the dump, save other stuff? They worked fast, were polite, and generally a pleasure to be around. The load went to the dump, and then on to Sarasota. It was a 4 hour drive, 8 hours for Ryan and Louis.
