I fell in love their work through various wedding blogs, and hired them to shoot our wedding that took place in August 2009. Dorothee shot our wedding and I can't believe how amazing out pictures are. Somehow she was able to be everywhere at once! My husband and I agreed that on the day of she was the perfect amount of "present" (guiding people, getting people together for group shots without being pushy, somehow always there the exact second I needed to talk to her) and "invisible" (she got a ton of great candid shots.) While she is only in Seattle part time, she still makes herself really available to answer questions, and is proactive about showing samples and figuring things out. Not only is she a fantastic photographer, but she's really sweet also. Just the sort of person you would want at your wedding. She has an abundance of great ideas, but is totally happy to take direction as far as what you're looking for in your photography. I really can't recommend Belathee (and Dorothee in particular) highly enough! We are SO happy with our photos and know they are a fantastic, beautiful way to remember our wedding.

Also, all our guests LOVED that it was an actual robot. People are still talking about how much fun it was. Leading up to the wedding - the owner was really kind, responsive, & patient. We were really late with picking out our backdrop (there are so many to choose from!) and picking out our logo (you can submit a custom one or he will make a basic one for you) and he never got impatient with us. Everything from start to finish was so easy! During the wedding - the operator assigned to our event was really cool. There were so many drunk people who didn't know what they were doing, but he handled them with grace and courtesy. I was very impressed with his professionalism. After the wedding - the standard time on his contract is 2 weeks, but we got ours in less time than that. The photos - ours turned out great. The lighting was a tiny bit overblown, but for photo booth photos - they were the best I've ever seen! There were a few favorite props everyone gravitated towards, but they had a great variety of props there. Everyone looked like they had such a blast. What's nice is that they not only give you the composited picture, they give you all the full-size pictures of the 3 pictures that made the composited picture. I'm super happy with the people, product, and service I received. If I ever throw another massive party, I'll definitely be using them again!

I am still told by friends and family (and strangers!) to this day (four years later!) that our wedding pictures were the most gorgeous photos people have ever seen. Jenny and Jeff are not only incredibly talented and creative photographers, but they are wonderful people. They are warm, friendly and hilarious. I feel like I got pretty lucky when it came to choosing the vendors for my wedding on November 7th…read more- though I suffer an indecisive streak, I was able to decide on everyone fairly quickly and get them all on board soon after. Stephanie and her husband Ryan, of Ahava Studios, were the absolute first vendors I picked. I shopped around and looked at the work of other photographers, but to me their work is - and was, for our event - just perfect. Stephanie is super easy to work with, really communicative and understanding, and just an all-around sweet gal who might make you want to hound her into being friends with you when everything is said and done... or was that just me? I met her husband and associate shooter, Ryan, for the first time at the actual event and I cannot say enough good things about him either. Our final slideshow and gallery were delivered in an incredibly timely manner and even though Stephanie set up an auto-response saying she was on vacation, homegirl STILL answered any question I had via email, at pretty much any time. If you want truly incredible wedding photographs that are not just timeless but artistic, you won't hire anyone but Stephanie at Ahava Studios! I hired Stephanie to shoot our wedding, as well as to do a boudoir shoot a few months before the wedding. I was nervous about doing the shoot in the days leading up to it, after expressing my feelings to Stephanie she seemed to know just what to say to calm me down and reassure me, of I guess myself and how I am documenting one of the most exciting times in my life. I was doing the shoot to have Stephanie create a beautiful photo book of pictures as a gift for my husband on our wedding day. She arrived to the shoot with a bottle with champagne in hand, which not only helped to relax my nerves, but it made the experience feel fancy! What girl doesn't love someone bringing her champagne!? Stephanie made me feel so comfortable during the shoot, and even sent me a couple sneak peaks of pictures that night! The photo book turned out better than I could have imagined, and my husband absolutely loves it. Then for the big day! I think that every bride in the back of their mind is somewhat worried about particular photo ops being missed. I mean there is so much going on at a wedding how can one person be in so many places at once? Stephanie somehow managed to do it, and do it beautifully. There were moments throughout the event (such as right after the ceremony) that I literately thought to myself, I didn't even see our photographer anywhere around, I really really hope that she got shots of this, or that. I honestly don't remember hardly seeing her at all throughout the day. But when we got our pictures, you would have thought she'd been my personal shadow for hours. She captured everything, plus more than we could have hoped for. From everyone getting ready, to guest arriving, the entire ceremony, the reception, us leaving the venue, plus all the family & wedding party pictures. She was like a one woman photography wonder, I really don't know how she did it all. Something that I really want to emphasis, what an artistic eye Stephanie has. She has an eye for the best angles, back drops, props to use. She took the most incredible pictures of all the details, such as our wedding rings, my wedding shoes, our toasting glasses, the cake....so unique. Something that I think turns a lot of people off to a photographer, is the price. You see this number that seems so outrageous to you for pictures, that you just go onto looking for the next photographer who's price seems more, "reasonable". My husband was one of those people. Totally turned off by the price. That is until we got our pictures. Not only were the services provided to us worth every penny that we paid, but after seeing how great everything turned out & how happy we were, we would have paid even more. Throughout the entire process, Laura and company were highly friendly, attentive, responsive, and accommodating to last-minute changes. The photos turned out amazing - we both agreed that they were the best wedding photos that we've ever seen.
