Stephanie and her husband Ryan, of Ahava Studios, were the absolute first vendors I picked. I shopped around and looked at the work of other photographers, but to me their work is - and was, for our event - just perfect. Stephanie is super easy to work with, really communicative and understanding, and just an all-around sweet gal who might make you want to hound her into being friends with you when everything is said and done... or was that just me? I met her husband and associate shooter, Ryan, for the first time at the actual event and I cannot say enough good things about him either. Our final slideshow and gallery were delivered in an incredibly timely manner and even though Stephanie set up an auto-response saying she was on vacation, homegirl STILL answered any question I had via email, at pretty much any time. She has great ideas and is exceptionally talented at catching the little details of your day. I plan to book Stephanie and her associates any time I need a photographer!

If you want truly incredible wedding photographs that are not just timeless but artistic, you won't hire anyone but Stephanie at Ahava Studios! I hired Stephanie to shoot our wedding, as well as to do a boudoir shoot a few months before the wedding. I was nervous about doing the shoot in the days leading up to it, after expressing my feelings to Stephanie she seemed to know just what to say to calm me down and reassure me, of I guess myself and how I am documenting one of the most exciting times in my life. I was doing the shoot to have Stephanie create a beautiful photo book of pictures as a gift for my husband on our wedding day. She arrived to the shoot with a bottle with champagne in hand, which not only helped to relax my nerves, but it made the experience feel fancy! What girl doesn't love someone bringing her champagne!? Stephanie made me feel so comfortable during the shoot, and even sent me a couple sneak peaks of pictures that night! The photo book turned out better than I could have imagined, and my husband absolutely loves it. Then for the big day! I think that every bride in the back of their mind is somewhat worried about particular photo ops being missed. I mean there is so much going on at a wedding how can one person be in so many places at once? Stephanie somehow managed to do it, and do it beautifully. There were moments throughout the event (such as right after the ceremony) that I literately thought to myself, I didn't even see our photographer anywhere around, I really really hope that she got shots of this, or that. I honestly don't remember hardly seeing her at all throughout the day. But when we got our pictures, you would have thought she'd been my personal shadow for hours. She captured everything, plus more than we could have hoped for. From everyone getting ready, to guest arriving, the entire ceremony, the reception, us leaving the venue, plus all the family & wedding party pictures. She was like a one woman photography wonder, I really don't know how she did it all. Something that I really want to emphasis, what an artistic eye Stephanie has. She has an eye for the best angles, back drops, props to use. She took the most incredible pictures of all the details, such as our wedding rings, my wedding shoes, our toasting glasses, the cake....so unique. Something that I think turns a lot of people off to a photographer, is the price. You see this number that seems so outrageous to you for pictures, that you just go onto looking for the next photographer who's price seems more, "reasonable". My husband was one of those people. Totally turned off by the price. That is until we got our pictures. Not only were the services provided to us worth every penny that we paid, but after seeing how great everything turned out & how happy we were, we would have paid even more. She went into a big sales pitch before we signed with her telling all the stuff that it included so we were very excited- especially since her work looks great. When we got our engagement photos back and they looked terrible. We purchased and extended 2 hours with her for about $500. During this time she stopped to take personal photos of items that inspired her. Of the actually photos we got back 70% of them were not us together and most of which were my husband. She was big on taking photos of us separately. We had so few pictures to choose from and they were terrible. When we spoke to her about this she said that the "magic" happens when she uses Photoshop. What she didn't tell us is that each image she Photoshop's costs $50 per image. The kicker- you don't a digital copy of the CD. She talked our whole engagement session about all the famous Seahawks she photographs and how we need to purchase prints from her to get the digital copy of anything- any even then it would only be that image. She constantly tried to up sale us during our engagement session on larger packages- like $16,000!!!! Our contract clearly stated that we received digital copies of all images. And she did other items that contradicted our contract. We negotiated out of our contract with her and selected an amazing photographer that took images that were amazing WITHOUT needing to be Photoshoped. Luckily we only did engagement photos with her. I would NOT recommend Janet to brides, grooms, or families.
