Honestly, I took a leap of faith when I hired Rebecca to take our engagement photos, but I couldn't…read morebe happier! We were only in Seattle a couple days and the photographer we initially hired could not make it at the last minute. We were disappointed, but she had recommended Rebecca as a replacement. Not only was Rebecca able to shoot us on a few hours notice, she was extremely flexible and accommodating (she drove through the horrible rush-hour traffic so I could get my shots in both Issaquah and Seattle). Fiance and I aren't very comfortable in front of the camera, put Rebecca immediately but us at ease. She's friendly, funny, and easy to work with. She has a great eye and helped set-up some great shots without making us look too posed or cheesy. She even went out of her way to lay on the ground and run into traffic in order to get a great shot. We had a lot of fun working with her, and it made the time fly by. When I saw the pictures she took of us, I was amazed. My only complaint would be that they make a big deal out of telling you free downloads on their website the next day and there's even a sticker on the photo card that they give you that says the same thing, free downloads. I went on their website the next day, scanned the event QR code and no free downloads. I'm not surprised that there was a charge because they are such good quality. Just stop telling people they will be free if they aren't. I even sent an email asking for an explanation but never received a reply.

Thomas spent time studying my face, and how the light struck it. He had me adjust my sitting stance, and face in different directions. At first, I was the classic dude and resisted the process. But he kept trying out new lighting set-ups and taking shots. I saw really good images coming out of the process. Once I relaxed into it, things really clicked (heh). The photos that resulted were more authentic and nuanced than any that I've seen of myself. It actually improved my self-image. It cost just a wee bit more than the sweatshop, but the difference in value is massive.
