Dr. Brooks, nurse Trixia and Gabby are all amazing. Each prenatal appointment was a breeze, and my labor and delivery was very pleasant.

Despite the last few mishaps about getting pills for my issue as reviewed below. I decided to stay…read morewith Dr. Brooks as he has been helping me with my endo journey. He put me on a test trial to see if we can ease the pain, as I had severe periods as well as pain throughout the month. Literally these pills reduced it so much that the pain mostly stayed away, but because the trial is only for two years at a time he switched me to a bc with no hormones, and it has worked for the past few months I have been on it. He's knowledgeable in what he does, very patient and will answer any and all questions or concerns you have. You honestly don't feel like you're being rushed when he sees you, he will take extra time with his patients if needed. However I do wanna point out once you make an initial appt with the receptionist they do not call you to make sure you'll be at your appt like other dr offices. And if you try to call to double check your appt time or have any questions, good luck trying to through as it usually goes to a voicemail box I'm pretty sure they don't check.

I had to call 14 times to get a response back for any of my needs, for simple medication to send out pharmacy it took 5 days and multiple times i had quick and simple question. Its was huge mistake to visit this facility. I had appointment setup three weeks ahead however i end up waiting 48 minutes to go , SO what is the point of making appointments??? On my second visit the dr told me to get test for an issue that i had , after 2 weeks when i arrived at facility to perform my test i found out that the Brooks facility wrote down pregnancy test even though on my chart specified that i cant get pregnant. I dont what the heal is going in this office.

*WARNING! REVIEW CONTAINS SENSITIVE AND TRIGGERING TERMINOLOGY/SUBJECTS*…read more I have never been shy of sharing my journey with Stage 4 Endometriosis and cancerous ovarian cysts. I was diagnosed at 16 with this horrific illness and still suffer into my 40s. It is one of the worst conditions imaginable and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemies but being that 1 in 10 women suffer in the US alone... I am not alone in this hellscape that has no cure or treatment. Despite being in perimenopause; my cysts are still out of control and I recently had a two-pronged crazy emergency: 1) I had so many large cysts that they were a danger to me and needed to be vacated 2) the cysts made my body think it was pregnant and created a sac! I basically needed an emergency procedure in the vein of a surgical abortion so that it be would less evasive than cutting me open like a frog in a high school biology class. I have Medi-Cal public health insurance and my gynecologist said to go through Family Planning Associates. I have seen my Medi-Cal health plan boast about Family Planning Associates but I never thought twice about it because I assumed it solely services for expectant mothers. What is FPA, ACTUALLY? FPA is a system of private clinics founded in 1969 (several locations in LA and Orange counties) that provide gynecological services, STD testing, pap smear testing, cancer testing, birth control, the distribution of condoms, the expectant mother services I assumed and... the ever so controversial: abortions. Basically, Family Planning Associates is like Planned Parenthood's cooler, rich cousin as it is not publicly funded but instead a privately-owned medical group but luckily DO accept public insurance in addition to private insurance. Plus, they have AMAZING Yelp reviews at every location, online, etc; so, I was feeling good about my gyno's suggestion. I initially called FPA in Glendale and explained my situation and that I basically need a surgerical abortion for my endo. The female (it seems all locations are teamed with an all-female staff: woo hoo!) was so very kind, patient and said that their location doesn't provide that service but she can make me an appointment through the computer reservation system for another location versus making me have to make an additional call. I was quite relieved with this being I was already anxious and made an appointment for the Mission Hills location. Amazingly, they had openings the very next day (each location only does these procedures one day a week) but I opted for the next week. While waiting for my appointment, FPA sends you texts to fill out online paperwork in their portal to speed up the process upon arrival and offers online supplements to prepare you and answer any questions beforehand helping to ease any confusion. They also send reminder texts and are with you every step of the way. The Mission Hills location of FPA is located in lovely building that almost reminds of an apartment building or hotel and isn't 'shady' in the least. Also, a bonus: no protestors outside which I honestly was expecting and I was ready to give THEM a lesson on endometriosis and the importance of saving women's lives. The office opens to spacious lobby with natural light, artwork and a large television and has a calming presence which is important in such a stressor-setting. Check-in was easy and the female staff at FPA Mission Hills were also super kind and courteous. I will complain about the fact that the cellphone internet service signal is awful at FPA. Even the employees complained but that is often the case at medical facilities. I won't get into details of the procedure as Yelp isn't the place for that but I will say that I was in great hands. I was worried that FPA would be ill-prepared for my endo and ovarian cysts with little experience; but all of the staff seemed confident and the doctor was amazing being educated and professional but also with a friendly, disarming bedside manner. I had slight complications when I woke up from my anesthesia and they took care of it immediately. After two weeks; I returned to FPA Mission Hills for my recovery checkup and I was met with the same kind service from staff who answered all my questions with expertise and even some humor and assured me that if I have ANY issues moving forward; to call them without any hesitation. Luckily, they said I was healing perfectly which is actually shocking for my 5x autoimmune body. One of my favorite parts of FPA is that they have a 24-hour nurse on hand to call with any issues or questions and they kindly text you after the procedure reaching out with the lovely intent of asking if you are healing well. FPA definitely makes you feel secure in your recovery. FPA is amazing and absolutely recommended to the fullest extent for all your gyno needs with private or Medi-Cal insurance. You are in good hands with FPA!

Dr. Heidari gave me the information I needed, while also caring about my well being. Plus, her assessment of the situation was right and only after seeing her did I get the correct antibiotics and treatment I ultimately needed. Shortly after this situation, I got pregnant and Dr. Heidari remained my OBGYN. With a first kid, we had a lot of questions, and Dr. Heidari answered them all, was reasonable while also practical, was factual, and just made this process easy and smooth. Pregnancy is a wild ride, and the right care team matters. I would (and have...) send anyone I know to Heidari for their OBGYN needs. She is the best! PS. I don't understand these negative reviews, especially ones that are based on administrative items that are the fault of the patient. Protocols and processes exist for a reason, especially within a bigger medical group. I've been a patient at UCLA, Cedars, and Dignity... and they are all like this when it comes to paperwork and appointments.

Besides the fact that the removal was excruciating (very rough hand), she never mentioned the trauma my arm would be going through. It's been three weeks and I can't extend my arm without pain. There are ripples of I don't know what protruding down my arm, maybe it's nerve damage. She left on vacation for two weeks and has not had the courtesy to return my call and see how I'm doing. The doctor that called me while she was away was clueless about this procedure and advised me to go to urgent care. In the meantime time I am still concerned about my arm. Hope this helps someone.
