They had some of the most unique plants I have seen and not likely to see at Lowe's, Home Depot or Pikes. One such plant was the stone crop "Lemon Ball" which is has great texture and would make a great ground cover for open areas. It tends to be a bit aggressive so you don't want it close to beds or contained areas. When looking at a plant that hasn't bloomed yet, make sure that you know what the plant looks like when it blooms because you may no longer like it. I loved the Abelia Grandiflora until I saw a picture of it in bloom and realized I did not like the blooms, just the leaves. Next! I would love to visit this nursery and see some of their vegetable plants. I love Swiss Chard and it is not always easy to find fresh options in the grocery store so I am interested in growing some myself to see how they might turn out. . When buying plants, it is always important to read the little planter stick so that you will know the specific characteristics of the plant to determine if it is appropriate for your garden. Sometimes, I am still unsure so I take a photo of the plant and tag, do the research and make sure that it is exactly what I want. This will save you time and frustration. This nursery is now conveniently located on Highway 53 in Dawsonville.

If you need any kind of help figuring out what stone or weight they will work with you. They will sell rocks & stone pennies to the pound for those small step or path projects. Pick from their loose pallets or purchase a ton to be loaded into your pickup or trailer. My only suggestion for them is, "why not put in a scale when approaching the yard. This: The first number on the scale is the gross weight of the box, bucket, or truck with all the stone. The tare weight is also displayed, which reflects the weight of the container or vehicle holding the material. When the tare weight is subtracted from the gross weight, you wind up with the net weight.

In the Spring and Summer, they have a great selection of Hostas and Ferns and many great flowering bushes and trees. Recently, I have purchased three Japanese Maples and am very pleased with them. They also had squares of Zoysia grass that I picked up to fill in some bare spots in my yard. Their prices are better than the big chain stores, and they always are well-staffed with friendly, knowledgeable associates. Before tree delivery I asked what kind of warranty there would be given as it was a transplant. Jason said "as long as I don't come out and find it bone dry there would be a warranty." The tree has not survived and they are now unwilling to honor their word and make it right. On top of that, 3 yards of conditioned garden soil was to be delivered. Instead we received practically mulch with trash in it. The delivery truck also drove in our grass and left a 15 foot trail of diesel in our grass and all the way down the road. The grass died and had to be replaced. Stay away! Very very dishonest company.

This is my favorite local nursery. They grow their own plants (unlike most nurseries that just buy…read moreplants from growers). Because of this, they have a much better selection and lower prices than other nurseries. They have tons of plants to choose from: annuals, perennials, ferns, vegetables, etc. and they come in all sizes (except for the plugs which they unfortunately won't let you buy). The employees (with the exception of one crabby lady in the first building) are very friendly and willing to help you find what you're looking for. This is my first stop for almost any plant I'm looking for. And if you're putting together containers, you've got to come here; they have much better and more interesting stuff than the other guys.
