you have to add time to your shopping, so you can check expiration dates. food that expired in 2023,should not be on shelves. put it on a half price clearance shelf. people talk about how high the prices are, at Brookshire'. to me, seems ,Ike 10 to 20% higher. that would be a problem for a family. I can afford higher grocery prices, but I expect quality food, thst is fresh. my son was in grocery business forv over 15 years. the lack of quality control is concerning. read more

This review is written for the sole purpose of letting shoppers know this company has problems that they are aware of, with their Mobile Application Program, their e-Coupon clipping, with ongoing problems of Price Point Dependencies (PPD), and Point of Sale (POS) systems not coinciding with published pricing. The problem affects both Self Check Out and Cashier check-out lanes. Hopefully, they are working on correcting the issues. In the meantime, maybe thinking you won't notice or check your registry receipts, against the prices you thought you would be paying. I want to preface any and all statements made, by telling everyone I am a blind person whom is no stranger to those whom take advantage of others. To those of you thinking this is simply some pleading to help "the poor little blind girl". Make no mistake, I am not playing a "Poor Pitiful Me" role, for I am far from poor and certainly not pitiful, in any way, shape or form. To those that doubt what is written, they will be blind from the facts. And to answer perhaps your next question, I shop with a sighted person and have the use at home of an OCR system (specifically designed for the visually impaired) that reads the published prices and printed receipts to me, if necessary. Furthermore, this is not a victim impact statement, nor some feeble attempt to cause problems, damage, hurt or tarnish in any way the reputation or operations of the Brookshires Organization, it's divisions, subsidiaries, stockholders or employee's. It is simply an attempt to raise awareness to everyone, whom shops at Brookshires Grocery. The problem exists and occurs when the In-Store Promotional Price of a product, clearly marked down and discounted, is then inflated to a higher price at the check-out register, as the product barcode is scanned and item purchased. Shoppers believe the prices for the items clearly posted and seen on the shelf's, will be the same price they will pay when scanned at the register. Imagine That! But it's simply NOT true. Please understand that these events occur most often on discounted grocery items, marked with a distinctive RedTag, attached to the display shelf directly under the product being sold. (Please Note that "Directly Under" may not be the case in every instance. Be aware that tags don't always line up with the product displayed. You may think the price below the product is the tag associated with the product, but it may be the price for something entirely different). Shoppers notice the bright Red Tags and if a decision to purchase is made, places the item in their basket, continues shopping, or heads to the check out registers. They seldom (if ever) notices he Price Point Discrepancies (PPD) ever occurred, as the posted price was not honored by the POS register at check-out. Price Point Discrepancies (PPD) are not specific to brands or specific grocery categories. Recently, the PPD issue surfaced and now affects the Grocery Retailer's Promotional e-Coupons as seen and displayed within their mobile apps. This problem was disclosed and admitted to (by 2 current employees) a Cashier and later speaking with a store Manager. What happens next is anyone's guess, but hopefully it is a software fix and maybe an corporate apology? In closing, I hope everyone will start actively and aggressively cross checking their receipts With Every Retailer, not just Brookshires Stores. Perhaps we're all guilty of having placed too much trust in that little "Beep" we hear, as the mystical and magical barcode is scanned and placed in sacks. 1. The markdown meat section is a scam. They are taking 30% off the higher no card price. Which means your only saving about 6 or 7%. 2. I don't like being asked by the sacker, "Do you need help carrying that out, sir?" It puts the customer in a very awkward position. We are paying higher prices for that service and it's your job, so just do it. read more

Strike 2. Sale paper came out and everyone can guess. They didn't have the items in the sale paper. Now you can E-Clip coupons and watch when you check out because they will not give you what the coupon claims. Don't ask for help because they have to go get help and you just stand there. Or do like I did and leave. Again the sales paper makes very good packing paper and that's all its worth. They never have what's advertised. What is this magical place I've never been to before! Best grocery store I've been to in a long time! I love their bakery! Best jalapeno cheese bread ever and their cakes are awesome. I saw something called a chocolate bomb which is a rounded chocolate cake with mousse on top covered with a hard shell of chocolate its freaking awesome! Haven't had their cookies yet, but their prices are great! I got signed up for a account with the kiosk inside and they had a special on something I got it was $4.99 each. But with a account it was buy 1 for $4.99 get the 2nd one for $0.99 I saw that deal with a cake and about had a heart attack that I could get a chocolate cake for $0.99. I decided not too or the household would hold a intervention asking me why I bought 2 chocolate cakes for myself lol. read more

I am very disappointed in the Brookshires of Greenville. The meat department does not mark down the reduced meat by half. When we had another manager of the meat department it worked it no longer does. Mr. Akins you need to take control.You are associated with super one who performs it as it was intended and marked it down by half. They meaning Brookeshire's only Mark their reduced meat down by pennies. This is very disappointing and I'm thinking of not shopping there anymore I would also like to say that your sales buy one get one for a penny is nonsense because you mark up the first one twice as much. Just go down the street in either direction to Walmart and buy your food, you will be happy you did when it come to check out. You get to check things out yourself and not have five to six people standing around talking to each other and you standing there ready to check out. Then when one of them finally can stop chatting and do what they are paid to do, they go dead in the eye and act like the Walking Dead when you tell them something rang up wrong, only for four more to waking dead themselves over and also go dead in face when you try telling them that it rang up wrong. I kid you not five of them just looking like you are speaking a foreign language and showing no hint of understanding but instead they just look off into space. If people don't have things to do and there are no customers to serve, send them home!!! Also, tech your employees some customer service skills, especially the ones under 20. Let's just say there was a theme in the age group of the five, possibly six, people that surround me and couldn't understand the simple statement of "something rang up for more then it should". PS: I hate that machines are taking checkout clerks jobs, but clearly Brookshire's would have better customer interactions if they did have machines, because you wouldn't have to deal with their blow average night of the walking dead team. read more

Nice grocery store. The selection is great. The prices are not the best. There are several items that are cheaper in other stores, but the staff is incredibly helpful. if you look puzzled, when one walks by they will help and point you the right direction. The staff is always willing to learn, although the baggers need to learn how to bag a bit better. read more

Further bad news...I just opened the package of meat up to make jerky and the butcher has sliced it too thin. I asked for 1/4 in. thick, he knew it was for jerky and it is sliced paper thin. Probably 1/16th to 1/8th inch thick. Ridiculous service. read more

This Brookshire's is very conveniently located and has a great variety of grocery items to choose from. I enjoy their clearance section, and seasonal offerings, plus the staff are wonderful people. I'm truly disappointed in the deli dept. We have been going to Brookshires for over 11 years and tonight will be my last visit. We are big fried chicken fans and this was the second time we have gotten the 10 piece dark and you could tell it had been sitting out for HOURS. I use to work in the deli dept and I know that once the chicken dries out, you're suppose to throw it out. I called and complained to the manager but he could care less about what I had to say. I informed him it was the same two ladies working that I cooked the chicken and let it sit out for hours. We will not be back. read more
