By far the best tattoo experience I've experienced. Dave's a true master of his craft. Not only is his black and grey work amazing, Dave makes his own machine and let me tell you, I barley felt nothing more then a cat scratch the entire time. I went to Dave for a ring tattoo after my son had three tattoos beautifully done by Dave. Dave is a very talented artist. My son loved his work and convinced me to get a tattoo. Dave was very professional, personable and pleasant with me even though I only got a small tattoo. However, in talking to his wife, Emily, I decided to try microneedling. Emily is also very professional, kind and a joy to work with. I love the effects of the microneedling on reducing my hyperpigmentation and fine lines. I was a super last minute walk in, and Dave and his wife were incredible to work with and Dave did SUCH a good job on my tattoo!! I hardly felt any discomfort, and it was on my ribs. He's not heavy handed at all and I was super pleased with my experience and the outcome. It's a great little shop and it's super welcoming and they immediately treat you like you're family. My friend who came with me for the tattoo even said that this would be a great place to come for your first tattoo because of how welcoming they are. I definitely recommend this place! read more

Terrible experience for last purchase at Brookside Tattoos and Aesthetics (previously known as Dave's House of Pain). Septum piercing came out crooked and earlobe piercing was not symmetrical to piercing in opposite earlobe. We went to Brookside tattoos and aesthetics and got the BOGO piercing deal. One septum piercing and one earlobe piercing. To start off we arrived for our appt at 3:25p (for a 3:30p appt). In which the place was closed. We called the shop number and Emily picked up. We told her we were there for our 3:30 appt in which she replied "oh, you guys are 5 mins early." Anyway they arrived around 3:30. No biggy. My fiancé proceeded to get his ear pierced. While he's getting his ear pierced Emily asked if we knew the cork screw method of getting a septum done. We said no. Once my fiancé was done I went up next to get my septum done. Dave asked if I would like to see what he was going to use and I said no because I didn't want to see the needle. Dave pierced through my nose using what my fiancé said looked like a spiral needle and a cork on the other side. When Dave pierced my septum there was a lot of blood and I felt pain. I did not feel this amount of pain last time I got this done and there wasn't any blood. All I felt was pressure last time. Dave if I was light headed in which I replied "no, but I don't remember there being this much pain or blood." After he was done and put the septum ring in I noticed my septum piercing was very crooked. When I mentioned this to him he said it was due to the swelling and after the swelling goes down it will straighten out. A few days later, after it still being crooked, light bleeding and pain we went to get opinions from other piercers. We went to two body piercing shops in which, before I even said anything, they mentioned that the septum piercing is crooked and proceeded to explained why it was crooked after taking a closer look and examining it. Both shops recommended that we take our piercing out now as it will heal and close up faster. They said they don't know what other body piercers do or what Dave does but typically a straight needle is use for a septum piercing. The one body piercer said you use a light, mark the spot and go through with a straight needle. If this is the accepted method of a septum piercing Dave did not do this at my appt. We called Brookside Tattoos Aesthetics just to get more information on how they did the procedure and Emily was very very defensive. She was also very evasive with her responses. Although frivolous, I feel I should mention that they did not give back my fiancé gold earring he came in with that Dave took out. When we text them about it Emily text back, "it was thrown out, you have to say something or we throw it out." They took it out his ear. They should've gave it to him right there. Customers shouldn't have to "say something" about their possessions they paid for being given back to them. Anyway, we have gotten tattoos done by them which were fine but piercings I don't recommend anyone getting. Just beware. They also don't take accountability for what they do. It's always the customers fault with everything. Even being 5 mins early for your appt and the shop being closed. EDIT: The post was flagged due to YOU posting personal information about myself. Rather then take legal action I simply did you a favor and flagged the post. As clearly stated above I immediately told Dave it was crooked to which he responded it was due to swelling. After getting TWO professional opinions by TWO different shops they did confirm piercing was crooked and it should be removed. read more

First let me began by saying I rarely take time to write a review with that said, unfortunally I must give a negative review to the microblading done by Emily. My microblading was done in 2019, I followed up with very little touch up the following year and with nothing done to date. Initally, I only requested Emily to fill in my brows which I did not get but a very very elevated brow. I would see myself in photos and I looked like a scarecrow! From family members to my hair salon they thought my brows were entirely raised too much let alone not uniform. I finally decided to have them removed by a well qualified studio in Allentown. Upon her looking at my brow she came to the same conclusions. I only hope Emily is more experienced now because I will need at least 6-8 more treatments on top of the 3 which I already had..as the cut was made entirely too deep in my skin which absorbed too much ink. I've been putting off getting a tattoo for years because I thought it would be very painful. I finally decided to put on my big girl panties and "just do it"!! After reading the other review on this site and doing some other inquiries, I texted to inquire about the cost. I had sent the measurement and a few pics of what I wanted. An answer came back quickly. An appointment was set up for the next day and the deposit taken care of. I was nervous, but Dave & Emily were so nice. I showed Emily the two pics again and we talked about colors & size. She drew up a morphed version of the two and made the pattern. We then got down to business!!! The office is very clean as well as the "instruments of pain"!!!! Dave explained what he was going to do. I had read up on tattooing and his explanation followed all I had read about a good tattoo artist (whew !!). Dave has some very interesting artifacts in the tattooing room to keep one's mind off what he's doing!!! Emily had come in to chat. We talked the whole time!! I love my tattoo!! Terrible service, I was greeted with a rude welcome and made very uncomfortable the receptionist profiled me and refused us service.

Came in to get my conch pierced x4 months ago. He used too small of a bar to pierce and it caused swelling and pain due to it digging into the back of my ear. 3 wks later came back to have it checked and was told it was healing fine and was talked out of getting a larger bar. Fast forward 3 months later and I went to another piercer who was shocked at how small the bar was he used and once he took it out noticed pus and a growing pustule. Would not recommend this place to anyone for piercing. Piercer had to even look up where a rook piercing goes. Edit: was told by another piercer that you cannot tell how much an ear will swell after a piercing so the bar he chose was way too small! He had a very hard time getting it out of my ear. At my 3 week follow up I was told that I would probably continue to have pain due to the length of the bar and it constantly putting pressure on my ear. Again, I was talked out of getting a longer bar. read more

I felt uncomfortable. The discussion wasn't appropriate for the setting. And when I said I knew how to heal my piercing because I had the piercing in the past I was told it was incorrect and they tried to sell me their cleaning supplies. I healed my piercing fine. They also went on a whole rant to my friend about how she shouldn't have looked up anything about the healing process online for her piercing. They said anything online was unreliable. To me that was weird. My piercing ended up being fine but the two tattoos my friend has gotten don't look great and all around they have questionable methods for healing piercings and tattoos. I went in and got a nose stud and my Monroe piercing done yesterday. The place was an hour away, but the drive was so worth it. Dave and his wife were there; they are the only two people working there. It's a family business, which I like. His wife does the appointments and things like that, and Dave does the piercings and tattoos. They're both very easy people to talk to, and are VERY educated on what they are doing. Dave was an amazing piercer. I couldn't have chosen a better place to go to. He told me what he was doing as he did it, he sterilized everything, he gave me information on what he did and why he chose to pierce me the way he did. As you know, there are many ways to pierce someone (with or without a clamp, using a bigger needle first then putting a smaller ring in, etc...). He has his own way of doing things, as most piercers do. He didnt use a clamp, and said it was because it inflames the area because of the amount of pressure you put on the clamp when pressing down. He used a bigger needle for my nose ring (a gauge larger than the ring itself), so the ring would be easier to put in. Afterwards, he showed me the supplies to use to clean my piercings. He told me where to get it, and what to do and what not to do. He is very informative and knows what he is doing. They are such nice people and I would definitely go back to get my future piercings done there. I may even get my tattoos there, too! read more
