The desk staff is very nice. However, I feel there is a bit of bait and switch happening here. I went in for filler. I spent $800, saw absolutely no change in appearance. I also went in to have a laser facial resurfacing done. I was told three times by the Owner; it was $375 for three treatments. After paying $375 and receiving one treatment, I returned for the second of the three, only to be told, "Oh no, it is $375 each treatment.", not what I was told at all. I left and will go to Young from now on. I would have never agreed to over $1000. Never. Beware. read more

The receptionist is also the laser tech- red flag right there. She was really nice, but answered questions with "I think..." and "well that should be OK" not YES or NO. They also do not tell you before hand but they make you buy a cream that is $22 - they refuse service if you do not buy it... and it's the same cream you can buy at Walgreens for $4.00. I'd rather pay more and go somewhere nicer and more professional. Someone else mentioned the groupon in their comment. Very apathetic service standards. I paid close to $900 to remove hair on my neck. The manager (a.k.a. doctor) said that I had dark hair and medium- light skin so I should see close to 100% results. His plan was to schedule 12 visits to be stretched every 6 weeks for 11- 12 months. After 9 visits (about 54 weeks) I noticed that zero percent of the hair was in remission. The laser treatments were having no results whatsoever. When I mentioned that I was not happy with the minimal results, and would report them to the attorney general if they didn't step up and either add extra treatments with no cost, or refund a portion of the funds, the manager stated (and I quote) "you should never threaten a man holding a laser scalpel". When I was about to schedule my last of 12 visits I again mentioned, this time with emotion to the office manager that I was disappointed that I spent almost $900 and got no results at all, and my plan was to report their poor service to the attorney general. She, in turn, feigned surprise and said the next time I come in to not remove the hair with nair and let them look at the result which I thought was honest. Instead, a week later I received a letter stating that because of my (MY!) poor attitude I was not to come back for my last service and, get this, that they would call the police if I attempted to speak with them again. I did report both the incidents and the negative results to the attorney general who contacted them and was lied to by them. Rather than take my side they dismissed the case, telling me I had to take the loss or hire a lawyer. This is what type of treatment people get when they trust to this Style medspa company. They just don't care as long as they got paid, and I'm sorry I didn't read more reviews before trusting them with my dermatology needs. read more

1 of my friend suggested that I try out this location. She was in the process of getting laser hair removal she had very good results. I found what I thought were great deals online. I believe it was 6 treatment for $1000. I made an appointment for a consultation right away. This was in this August 2011. I was given a questionnaire to fill out. As soon as I finished at the doctor came out and look at my skin. Just as 1 of the other reviewers noted, pretty much felt like I was being poked and prodded. He looked like he was your havin the worst time finding the words to say. I was told my skin was to dark for the type of laser they had. He told me they can TRY it but he believes that it would require more treatments than I expected and that it would end up costing me more in the end. Suggested that I try their office near Philadelphia. (Since they were used to working with darker skin.) just by looking at me he said that he was also afraid that the laser with the dark/burn spots and I would not be satisfied. "What a consultation!" I thought! I was a bit confused. The friend that referred me was Indian. She was a bit lighter than me. In some ways I was happy that he told me of his discomfort working with me upfront. I would have hated for me to go through w/ the initial six treatments and have them tell me i'd need more treatments, coughing up more money! So for that reason and that reason only, I'll give this place 1 star out of 5. Essentially my biggest complaint to them was really... why waste our time? If they could tactfully find a way to disclose their inexperience with darker skin, they could have saved both of our precious times. I wish I would have read this BEFORE I bought my Groupon for this place. I am Caucasian with dark hair (ideal candidate for this procedure). As of this review I have only been to one appointment. The technician seemed knowledgeable enough, but I did not realize I had to buy a $20 jar of cream for after the treatment. If I did not, I would not get the laser that day and I drove for 45 minutes for this appointment. For my next appointment I needed to reschedule. One of my kids had a conflicting appointment that I did not know about until the day before. I called 20 HOURS in advance of my appointment to try and reschedule. No go! They have a policy for 24 hours and they were not bending an inch. If I did not show, or changed the appointment I would be charged $45. I asked if they could make an exception and I was put on hold while she asked. Still no go. They are unwilling to help. I even asked if I could come any earlier. She indicated that they were booked solid. So, they are not hurting for clients, but they will not work with you. I cannot attest to the treatment yet as I have only had one, but the customer service stinks. After the Groupon treatments, i will not be back. read more

(IF ZERO STARS WERE POSSIBLE, I'D GIVE THIS PLACE EXACTLY WHAT THEY DESERVE!) Let me set the scene for you: A few airheads got together one night and discovered a laser. "Wow!" exclaimed one. "This sure would be fun to zap people with!" The others giggled in delight. "Yes, and we could overcharge people and--" "We could make up our own prices as we go along!" the tiny one chimed in. The threesome laughed at their ingenious scheme, but all of a sudden, they grew quiet. The first one lamented, "But wait, we don't know what we're doing--none of us has ever used a laser before." "Who cares? We'll practice on our clients--surely we'll get the hang of it," the most devious of the bunch declared. * * * And so that was how Style Medspa came to be--a scheme cooked up by a trio of less-than-intelligent laser-happy faux technicians. OK, maybe that's not entirely true but it's damn sure a good guess judging from my experience. I purchased a '3 treatments for $99' deal from Groupon. No sooner had I crossed the threshold for my first appointment than I was accosted by an overly aggressive upsell pitch--Jeebus, I hadn't even begun my first treatment and I was already being told that a package of 3 additional treatments could be purchased for $299! I politely declined and settled in for what happened next. Be forewarned: If you are a non-Caucasian, you will be made to feel like a zoo animal--some type of curiosity--poked, prodded and stared at until you are sufficiently uncomfortable. In other words, no matter what grand proclamations they make, they have NO IDEA how to treat ethnic skin! After 10 minutes of stammering about how she wasn't sure which intensity level to set the laser to, my technician proceeded. It took all of 5 minutes and, in the weeks that followed, I noticed not an iota of difference. My second treatment was at the Allentown location and, though I didn't think it was possible, I got an even more incompetent technician. She told me that minorities shouldn't come to the Allentown facility because the laser hair removal machine there isn't suited for ethnic skin--a detail that was conveniently left out when I booked my appointment. She then offered me a three-treatment package deal for $499 (the same one that was offered for $299 at their other location), a $65 skin lightening kit, and a $27 jar of aloe vera (which can be purchased at Wal-Mart for about $3). I refused and she offered again--talk about pushy! She was hesistant to proceed with the treatment and, quite frankly, I was nervous. She quickly brushed it off and told me everything "should be fine". In about 10 minutes, she was finished. Again, in the weeks that followed, there was no lessening of hair or hair growth. Today, I reluctantly honored my third (and final) appointment--not because I was thrilled or impressed with the service or the procedure itself--simply because I had pre-paid for this Groupon deal and I intended to use it. I took time out of my day only to be told after waiting for about 15 minutes that because I had rescheduled my previous appointment (I called AND sent an e-mail), I had to pay $45 or forfeit one of my treatments! I explained that I had called and sent an e-mail, but this chippy wasn't having it. I told her to forget the whole damn thing--the treatments weren't working anyway and they were idiots who should've never been allowed to start a business. After all of that, she STILL tried to sell me an additional package of three treatments. Ridiculous. Stay far, far away from this place with their fluctuating, suited-to-their-whims pricing, horrible practices, and fear of ethnic skin. You'd be better off buying a $5 bottle of Nair to get rid of body hair. read more

I was referred to this establishment by a coworker who raved of her results (laser hair removal). I attended my "free consultation and initial treatment" (as advertised on their website) and was asked a few questions and offered a "packaged deal" within 10 minutes of being seen. The package consisted of 6 treatments for underarm with 3 "touch ups" for free for 600.00 ("50% off individual treatment price"). I began my first treatment immediately. The procedure went very well (mild pain or discomfort) and has yielded fantastic results (two weeks later). However, AFTER further research, I realized that they were offering "three treatments for 199!." While in the office, I inquired about the birthmark I have on my right cheek. I was quoted 150.00 for the smaller areas and an additional 300.00 for the darker spot for a total of 450.00 (without knowing if this laser would actually be effective for this type of skin abnormality). I arrived for my 150.00 procedure (which is advertised as "10 minute vein removal for 99.00" which I assumed was an "all you can laser for 10 minutes" type of deal) and when I showed the technician the areas I wanted treated, she told me they would be at additional cost. After I explained what I thought the package included, she agreed and proceeded. I hardly felt the laser on my cheek (I've had many treatments earlier in life and was prepared for what I remember to be pretty severe pain). The results showed little to no difference from pretreatment which made me quite emotional as I was expecting some sort of clearance of the spotting on my cheek. I hate to assume the negative, but it seems as though they decrease the laser intensity to lessen the effectiveness so that they will need to schedule additional treatments. After my emotional reaction, the technician agreed to try again with higher intensity (a week later, little to no reduction of birthmark appearance). To sum up my experience, their pricing is inconsistent with what is advertised. If you plan to use this establishment for their laser treatment, ensure that you've done your homework, printed the price offers, and negotiate. I had NO CLUE this was a "negotiate a price" type of deal but surely, they are doing all they can to make money (not loyal customers). Needless to say, I will never again agree to a treatment until I've fully researched their entire array of offers to ensure I've been offered the best deal. read more

I agree with all of the other reviews on this site! I have experienced all of what they said - the negative reviews that is. I also purchased a group on. The first time I was in, they told me that "no problem" we should be able to get the underarm area done with the three treatments I purchased. When I went back for the second treatment and told the tech that there was no improvement (they said I would see about a 30-50% reduction), she then back pedaled and said I may need more - but- not to worry, we'll give the treatments to you for the original Groupon cost. I thought they were being generous -ha!- not so. I got the second and the third treatment and then purchase a second 3 treatment plan for the Groupon price. After my fourth treatment, I then told the technician that I was not seeing any changes. I then got my 5th treatment and when I scheduled the sixth treatment, did not shave my underarms. I showed her how there was still about 50% hair left. Many excuses and reasons later, she said if I was not happy with the sixth treatment, I could get an additional at no cost. Reason being: 1. she only told me at that time that "maybe I should have used a higher setting - fine time to realize that! 2. I was told I would need three treatments initially - maybe four 3. the laser she had used previously was not working and took me into a different room - I think the laser was older 4. the underarm hair is coarser so could take more treatments and maybe they should have told me that in the beginning Okay I thought... When I called to schedule that additional treatment, the person who answered the phone said "we would NEVER offer a free treatment". Insinuated that I was lying and when I called her on it, she would not even look at me. So with all that being said, I forgot to mention that I am not new to laser hair treatment. I had previously gotten my bikini line, back of my upper legs, and upper lip. The hair on my bikini area was coarser and a bigger area. I had four treatments - that's it. I am hair free. This was done at an OB/GYN office and the technical really knew what she was doing. My advice... don't buy the group on here, you end up spending more money to get the treatments to work. Go elsewhere and if they answer your questions truthfully then use them. read more

I have had six sessions on my dark hair/light skin underarms. The first three sessions were a waste. I believe they had the laser set entirely too low to make any difference. This is not my first experience with laser hair removal. I had incredible results after 3 sessions at a plastic surgeon's office. (I informed by technician about my past treatments, telling her that I had no adverse affects, expecting that she would crank up the laser. They can tell you whatever they want about the power setting...you're not going to be able to verify it.) I agree with the other reviewers about the deceptive/pushy sales tactics used at this facility. It very much resembled dealing with a car salesman. I don't believe there is any integrity here. Find somewhere else to get treatment. During consultation, ask about the type of laser, the setting they will start you at and be sure to get their justification for that setting. Tell them you want to be able to see the setting on the machine before they start. Then research it online. I assumed, after my first successful experience, that this would yield the same results. I wish I would have investigated more carefully. read more

I called back this month and a woman then quoted me $1000 for 6 treatments. I explained that we might not be in town long enough for 6 treatments. She politely said that the owner would have to call me. Guess what? He called, three days later and said something like, "I think I was supposed to call you." I can do six treatments for $2,000. Mind you his employee just quoted me half that and I had already paid at a rate of 222 per session 6 months ago. I told him that was not what was told to me. He then said he could do 3 treatments for $995. Guess what - they don't have static pricing but dynamic pricing based upon what they think you can pay and worse the owner doesn't care. To say that my experiences at Style Medspa have been anything other than wonderful, would be an understatement! I am a 37-year old female who has battled with unwanted hair growth on a daily basis, my entire life. Throughout the years, I've spent so much time, energy and money on shaving products and short-term hair removal applications that simply do not work. I was constantly embarrassed at the red bumps I would get on my legs, especially in the summer months, after shaving. After witnessing what I was going through, my boyfriend suggested laser hair removal, as he had a positive experience with some laser work he had done on his face some years ago. Skeptical for a few months, I finally gave in and contacted what I heard to be a reputable facility in my area. After visiting www.gethairless.com, I was immediately impressed that they are upfront about their costs for services as they list their prices directly on their webpage. I must admit that I was very shocked at the prices! I've always assumed that laser hair removal was something only obtainable by the "well off". Trust me when I say that my financial status does not leave any room for things outside of necessity, however I've learned that where there's a will there's a way, even if it means charging to my Visa and making payments each month. And so, my first appointment was scheduled for "half legs". I started above the knees. I was so nervous as anticipation of the initial touch of the laser had me frightened beyond belief. My fears were eased a bit upon my entrance, as I was greeted by a staff that made me feel instantly at home. The atmosphere and even the color of the room helped to settle my uncertainties. The technician begins by using a red marker to draw squares on your legs. This is so she can move through each area in a pattern, marking completion after several short passes. She puts a red dot in the center of each completed section so she knows what area she's finished. Did it hurt? HECK YEAH it hurt!!! I will not lie! I will however tell you that as soon as you get used to the pain, the fear subsides with each pass of the laser and your tolerance level quickly improves. The pain is only temporary and subsides immediately. The first session is the worst because it hits so many hairs at one time. Again, once you get used to the feal, it's a piece of cake!! Though single sessions are available, they are conveniently sold in packages. You will see results following session 1, however it's important to follow through with additional sessions in order to reach the ultimate goal of becoming permanently hairless. The technician will give you a better explanation of how your hair grown and the fact that it has to be in the correct stage to be permanently removed. Each of your hairs do this at different times. The sessions are scheduled about every 6-8 weeks. As time goes on, you will see a dramatic difference. You will hardly feel the laser. I promise!!! The results far outweigh the pain. I was so impressed after my second session of my legs that I decided to have my lip and chin done as well. Absolutely no regrets!!! Now, just one year after my initial visit, I am amazed at the final results on my upper legs as well as my face. As a Christmas present this past year, my parents surprised me with a package for sessions on my lower legs. Again, even after my first sesstion, I've experienced incredible results. Laser hair removal is the best thing I've ever done for myself. I am not embarrassed to wear skirts any more! And my lip and chin no longer appear to have a 5 o'clock shadow. Last but not least, I believe it's important to mention that the staff at Style Medspa is absolutely wonderful! Since I've been scheduling appointments, the staff has remained consistent, making my appointments even more welcoming! I got 2 small areas 'lasered' which some how totaled up to 3 grand (which is a complete rip off) and it DIDNT EVEN WORK. I have been having laser hair removal and spider vein treatments done at style medspa. I am extremely happy with my results. Julie is very thorough and helpful. I just had my second spider vein treatment today and am beyond thrilled with the results. you would never know that I had dark purple/red veins covering my highs previously! As for the laser hair removal I am on my 6th treatment and practically hairless. I see that some other used have complained about the "strength" of the laser not being used at full force. It is important to understand that she cannot just blast the laser nor would you want her to. Your skin tone/color, sun exposure, and tolerance all play a role in to how high she can turn the machine. If it is set incorrectly for your skin tone or if you recently has sun exposure it can cause darkening of the skin. This is also why the laser may not be ideal for those with darker skin. The laser is attracted to darker colors. This is also why it works better the darker your hair is. Take these things in to consideration before you judge their level of expertise. I would absolutely recommend style medspa and have referred friends and family. read more
