I would recommend this cleaning service. I spoke with a nice lady over the phone (didn't catch her name) who was detailed, attentive and committed to customer-satisfaction. Two ladies arrived but without name badges AND reeked of smoke. I called and company (actually spoke with the lady who originally made the appt.) and she was extremely apologetic and said she will call the 2 ladies to find out more. She returned my call, couldn't change anything, but I appreciated the call back and follow-up. The 2 ladies wanted a detailed tour of the house and asked many specific questions - all good. They called mid-way and updated me with their progress. They called again when they finished which I really appreciated. The best call ever was what they call the 'Happy Call' which is 24 hours after service just to make sure the customer is 100% happy and satisfied. I was!!! I finally caved and got a cleaning service and chose Broom-Hilda's! Overall, they are quite responsive to our messages and are accommodating to my untraditional work schedule. When they come, they normally ask what areas we would like cleaned and anything that is asked of them, they complete the task very well! I was hoping for a more detailed, thorough job than what I got, but I'm not complaining about the cleaning, because what was cleaned is sparkling, and I'm sure we would've gotten into some sort of groove, quickly. Do not waste your time or money. They were in my house for an hour and a half and didn't clean: our kitchen sink, bath tub, baseboards, tv stand, lighting fixtures, or anything upstairs. They also knocked a plant over and didn't tell me. They then sent out two new people a week later who had the worst attitude. Showed up 45 minutes late for a move in clean and then did a horrible job cleaning. Horrible communication. Food stains were left on the cupboards in the kitchen. It's a 600 sq. Foot apartment!!! I had this company come do a first time deep cleaning on my home. There are some decent reviews on another site which is what I went by. I should have looked at the yelp reviews. Booking was great. Very friendly. They showed up pretty much on time and the ladies were friendly. I showed them what rooms I needed cleaned and left. They said about 2 hours. I came back in 2 hours as they were getting in their car and they left. I went in the house and was happy with how clean it smelled. After walking around inspecting I noticed that my kitchen and bathroom floors were not cleaned! The bottom of my toilet had not been touched! I ended up finishing the job and NOT happily. I thought about calling to complain but do I really want someone coming back into my house after complaining about them? It's like sending food back at a restaurant. So I thought that WHEN they call me in the next day or two to check on my satisfaction I would let them know and that I already finished the job. They didn't call so I guess they didn't care. They are totally unreliable. Won't show up, will come for the wrong number of hours, will show up anyway if you've cancelled. I tolerated that for awhile because normally they did great cleaning for a very reasonable price. But the moment I went to the owner Maria about a bad job that was done she became nasty, condescending and completely unprofessional. We just bought a new home and needed light cleaning as it was cleaned by the previous owner. We wanted the cabinets wiped down, the bathroom cleaned (floors, toilets, sinks and shower), vacuuming the carpet and wiping down the windows (the insides parts only). We were very disappointed in their work. We ended having to re-wipe down all of the cabinets and floors. They did not vacuum. I have no idea how they stay in business. Although a few of their girls were helpful, in general AVOID THIS AGENCY AT ALL COST. They sent girls out who were generally high school drop-out types with poor hygiene. They told lies about me to the agency that referred them to me. I too was very unhappy with the service I just had done last weekend. I had a 1000 sq. ft townhouse that was empty that needed walls washed down, ( they were pretty clean to begin with, just a simple wipe down, I was out of town and I'm very picky that my renters get a very clean place) I wanted the fridge and stove cleaned and floors washed. They did a good job on the floors but everything else remained the same. So again today after work I get to clean the rest of the stove and fridge. When I called and complained to Tiffany she just said sorry. Well I'm sorry too because I will never use this company again! read more

This cleaning service doesn't even deserve one star. Cleaners complained loudly about their boss and other clients the entire time they were cleaning. The time they had allotted was not sufficient to actually get my house clean even though they had assured me over the phone that it would be. When I went to check areas that I had specifically requested they give extra attention it looked like it hadn't been cleaned at all. After all that they failed to mention that they charge for partial hours so I overpaid and no one bothered to correct it. Obnoxious management staff. Most workers are efficient, but little to no direction from management. Terrible scheduling procedures, often did not show up. Seriously. I didn't heed the warnings about this place and now I regret it. I had them come three times. The first two were ok- I noticed a lot of things left dirty but figured that it was just all they could get to in two hours. This last time, I just had surgery and wanted everything deep cleaned while I was in the hospital. When I booked them I specifically noted I wanted to reserve three hours. I left a note about specific things I needed done (baseboards, interior doors, etc). I spent $70 on a particular cleaner I wanted used for the floors and left it for them. But none of it was even touched. They spent a little under two hours and left (again, I wasn't home or I would've stopped them. My roommate is the one who wrote them a check at the end). Then I got attitude on the phone when I called to ask them to come back and finish. Just don't hire these people. I "used" to hire this company to clean twice a month. After speaking with the owner, Maria, in regards to me cancelling their services on a couple occasions due to me having to reschedule my appointment, Maria mentioned to me that most companies charge individuals when they cancel services. I agreed and this is true, but the thing that upsetted me the most was that "NONE" of this, and I quote "NONE" was expressed to me when I first hired Broom Hilda's, nor was a contract signed with cancellation charges in writing. I received this message via over the phone. I was hosting a major event at my place the next day so Broom Hilda's placed me in a situation in which I had to hire another company at the last minute to come and clean. This is not the way you want to conduct business. With that being said, our relationship is no longer and with this kind of treatment, I'm sure Broom Hilda's won't be in service very long. I am not trying to sound like a snob at all trust me. Infact I loath snobs and have worked in the service industry for years. However this place is not professional and mildly gross. Never the same people dirty equipment and very old vacuums. My showers were not cleaned at all. The girls were sweet well mist I'd them but that owner was a piece of work. I actually heard how she spoke to her employees on the phone. She sounded like a crazy person. I would not recommended them to a friend or an enemy. Garbage. They bring they sent low skilled and lethargic 'cleaners' over to my house for the deep clean I requested. What do I get? Two people doing an express cleaning, after I told even the cleaners that I needed them to deep clean for a move out. They also didn't come equipped. Never go by reviews!!! I almost past this gem up. I am in a wheel chair and they had their work cut out for them. The office staff was very helpful with my schedule and the ladies who came to clean were very pleasant and professional. I am writing this because it was so at odds with what is written here. I am old AND old fashion but this "progress" which enables people to tear down business and others blindly follow horrendous. Call and get your own information and make up your own mind. I read that they have been in business for 20 something years, you know they are doing something well. I get my apt cleaned now every two weeks and have no complains. I use this service weekly for my house, which is not the easiest to clean due to a lot of little people living in a small-ish space. They always do a great job, listen to my requests, and often do more than I ask them to. I get a weekly "satisfaction" call and there's always someone to speak to if I have a problem. As with any service, some crews are better than others, but Broom Hilda's has a pretty good proportion of helpful, thorough, intuitive, and (appear to be) trained ladies. I used Broom Hilda's to fill in for my regular cleaning person when she was on vacation. Despite having an agreement with BH management about the starting time, the cleaning crew constantly came anywhere from 30 -60 minutes late. We never even received a call that they would be late. We work on a very tight time schedule so the starting time was critical. I cannot deal with unreliable folks. Further, the quality of their cleaning was marginal. read more

Out of the 3 times I scheduled them they only came once. This morning I did not even get a call that they cancelled on me. The girl said it was because both girls had to take care of their children when I know for a fact neither of them have children from the last time they came to my home which was a week ago. However, The first time they came I noticed they were using dollar store brand products. I had them use my cleaning products because I wanted to make sure the house was clean. Also I had to keep telling the girls when they missed a spot and needed to come back into a room and clean other areas of the dust. I don't understand how any company would not tell their customers that they cancelled on them especially morning of. I took off work twice for nothing.
