That's where Bizarde comes in. I used to have fairly frizzy and flat hair, which I washed way too often and didn't condition properly. Staff at Bizarde is specialized in dry cuts without washing, which is far less abrasive on hair - they've always beautifully refreshed my lengths with select snips and killer advice. Now I wash my hair with shampoo less often, take great care in conditioning my lengths with products they've recommended, and brush my hair at least three times a day to favor the oil distribution from the roots to the lengths, and my hair has never looked so beautiful. I am delighted. The place is also gorgeous: an urban, quirky jungle with lovely tunes with friendly, laidback staff. They have a way of making you feel right at home. All for a reasonable $60, tax and tip inclusive, per session.

It was my first time ever getting to enjoy a manicure spiff up while the dye was setting in my hair - so I ended up with both black hair and chic black nails. It was such an enjoyable glow up! My stylist was super sweet and gave me EXACTLY the hair colour and cut I wanted, which is, as many will know, not an easy thing to always achieve when you go to a new stylist. He listened carefully to everything I explained that I was looking for, and went out of his way to ensure that I got it! I even left with my specific dye recipe (which is kind of like a half-black, half dark brown mix) on a slip of paper, since he understood that I travel a lot and it would just make it so much easier to hand the recipe to my next stylist! I was so appreciative of that, because it's often hard to get a stylist to understand the kind of colour I'm looking for (surprisingly enough). Cut out the reddish, tone it down to a cool, deep, darkest brown bordering on black but not as unnatural looking as black. He nailed it. The next time I'm back in Montreal, this is where I will take myself immediately. The nail salon is next door, but they have a door between the hair salon and nail salon, so that your stylist can simply walk you through, with your towel on your head, sit you in a chair, and the manicurist knows exactly how much time there is to get your nails done before you have to go back over for your rinse. It's such a great working relationship. I was so happy with the manicure that I went back again for a redo a week and a half later! Fair warning, though - this salon IS in Westmount, the moneyed part of Montreal, so you will pay through the nose for your perfect salon experience. For me, it was worth it. A girl's gotta treat herself once in a while, and since I only typically hit a salon once every six months, I could justify it! Ha!

She always comes up with suggestion on how to make me look like I have more hair then I really do and always has interesting conversation. The support staff is also very nice, I'm always treated like I'm the most important person in the place and they are quick to offer up a drink once your hair has been washed or if you get there early and find yourself having to answer some email and read the paper. I like this place for the simple reason that I've been coming here for five years and even with the staff changes they manage to keep the experience and fun.
